@jaylex666 When you find your dead friend Whitney in your compartment, you have several options - you can either throw his dead body out the window or you can put his body in your bed. Each option has its advantage and disadvantage. Throwing him out the window right away makes the police enter the train at a certain destination, searching the train for the murderer. Putting him in your bed is difficult, too, because you have to stop the conductor from preparing your bed for the night.

I don't know of any other game which features similar gameplay as this one, it's amazing. As much as I know, it took the team some 4 years to finish the game.

@dageezerboi Maupiti Island, KGB/Conspiracy and Dune 1 featured real time.

In Lure of the Temptress and Beneath the Steel Sky you had a living enviroment, but story was entirely character driven.

Also Blade Runner is pretty impressive. It featured non-linear gameplay with several possible endings and random events that change everytime you start a new game.

For its time this game and games like it were pretty advanced! It includes imagery instead of the long paragraphs of descriptive text in text adventure games that used to be the rage.

Hah I attended a panel with Jordan Mechner at comic con and when he asked how many people played Prince of Persia (remakes) everyone rose their hands and when he asked who played the Last Express only myself and 3 other people in a panel of over 50 people raised their hands.

Guys, this is one of the best games of all time. If it has any weakness it's that the technology at the time forced them to cut a lot of the frames of animation giving the game a jerky feel. Regardless, after a 1/2 hour to hour you don't even notice it and the game is so good it really doesn't matter. Get this game if you like adventure games (especially open ended and unique ones). My God, Go Play The Damn Game!

@goatman455 Actually the whole cutting out frames due to limitations thing is made up - the animation is intentionally like that so the characters would have the feel of contemporary (impressionist/art noveau) painting styles to them.

if you're referring to the constantinople, it's just the name that was used in the past, it's the same city. the official title of the city was changed to istanbul in 1930s, but the game was set in 1914, therefore it would be an anachronism to use the title istanbul (even though kronos uses it once :)
