Why is everyone giving the surfer shit about wearing a helmet? It's his head he can chose to wear a helmet if he wants. I don't wear one but I haven't suffered a serious head injury whilst surfing. For all you know this guy has and is taking precautions to prevent it again. Or for all you know it's a shallow break with lots of random bombies that are easy to smash your head on. I surfed my local spot today and got slammed onto a bombie that I didn't know was there...and I surf it every day.
