i don't understand why people see religion against science,i actually dunno so much about what Christians do,as their book contradicts with science,i think they put their scripture first to find out the things around them.

If God exists and sent a book to humans,of course it must give us what science does.

actually if u knew the scientific infos in Quran,u would probably agree with me,none of them contradicts with real science.

what muslim scholars have shown me so far as ``scientific knowledge in the quran´´ has all been extremely poor.

scientific knowledge has been ``discovered´´ in the quran AFTER real scientists figured it out and published. and there are tons of mistakes in the quran. the quran completely fails when it comes to making useful predictions, it is worthless for science.

I agree with you with regards to the use of the word atheist being inadequate as a label. It doesn't say very much about a person. I just don't see that as a reason to not use the word. If we split our selves into the various 'factions' of non-believers our numbers dwindle.... but on that note, maybe the word 'non-believer' is a better option.

i will continue to describe myself as an atheist, every bright is by definition also an atheist. perhaps we can slowly shift over to the new definition.

the brights movement could unify secular humanists, atheists and agnostics, and at the same time exclude spiritualists, buddhists, and all the other branches of supernatural belief that are in conflict with rationality but are not in conflict with the definition of atheism.

One thing I learnt from being on YouTube is that being "atheist" is just ONE aspect of my personality. I'm also a bright. I'm also agnostic. I'm also a positive ("strong") atheist when it comes to any Gods named by humans ("Yahweh, Allah, etc"). Etc. (more...)

I'm happy to call myself "atheist", thus giving away one bit of information about myself. Some people jump to conclusions after hearing that, others ask and want to know more. No points for guessing what I prefer :-)
