didn't know there was a gametype that restricted liscense board. Just started ff up again because i only got to play it at a friend's before. So i see now why most of these videos have glitch type tactics for winning since ur handicapped and cant use quickenings. O wellz.

It's not an existing mode in the game, just something players choose to do to make it more complicated.

Why is it hard to believe? Changing equipment only allows me to attack quicker. Even if in the battle against Nidhogg I didn't do the trick and the snake killed Balthier, I would just revive him and have him finish it off.

It WAS vital in the battle against Tiamat and could prove just as crucial in the next boss battles, but there is nothing shown in this vid that can't be achieved without the trick, it will only take more time.

Nothing impossible with Ixtab either, not doing the changing equipment trick would just result in a longer battle and more casualties. The difference is that I could use Hi-Potions twice as much and Balthier could squeeze more shots in.

the nidhogg is kinda easy for me...but the cluckatrice is a whole other story i died about 40 times cause of that thing

when one of them gets to close to the turtle just use flee command for a bit and both Fran and Bal will take their safe range... thats how i did it. Nice job anyway !

Too much effort for a boss battle that can be made this easy, if you ask me.

What arrows does your Fran have equipped? She hardly does any decent damage for me (so I doubt having her shoot would help Balthier out at all).

At the point of this video, no, not yet. You will never notice it though, because I activate licenses on one character only, only to make farming much faster and only activate those licenses that do not affect any battles when initial equipment is on.

In a nutshell, it's still the same challenge, I just conserve my non-precious time behind the curtains. :o

Oh yeah, that's smart, I've done same kinda changes many times in my challenges too. How long do you think it's possible to go 122333?

I'm sure it's possible to keep the LLG as an equivalent to 122333 at least until Cid. Once I get that far, I'll see if Rooks can be defeated without levelling up (I'm guessing not), and if nothing works I'll have to think of a way to distribute EXP on my own.

I tried that, but with both Bal and Fran shooting one of them (the one who isn't the party leader) will run off and provoke Rocktoise to use Sonic Turn, messing things up. It was safe enough that way.

I used almost the same stragedy against Rocktoise. I also used X-potions + "sleep-glitch" against Ixtab.

It's the one that says something about speeding up the video twofold. I am not sure about the name because my WMM program is not in English. Just right-click one of the videos, select Video Effects (or something similar) and choose the one that makes it 2x faster.

You are right, perhaps even overconfident. I am told I will be unable to defeat Tyrant (160K HP), but I am hoping I will defeat him and get Reddas shortly afterwards. Still a dozen of difficult bosses ahead though, let's see how far I can make it.
