A minority of US presidents have been Masons. Washington was known to visit lodges organized among the soldiers of the Continental Army. Later in life, one can assume he had other demands for his time--leading the country to independence, etc. Mason honor symbols that are universal and timeless inspirations to mankind--the all seeing eye of deity, obelisks, etc. There are no 'Masonic' cities. In Washington the two leading Masonic buildings are open to the public to tour. Expose ignorance.
A lot of masonic symbolism in Washington DC, the obelisk (George Washington Monument) symbolizes the sun god Ra, and you can see them in most masonic cities including London, Paris, Vatican (Yes where the pope is), etc. George Washington himself was a proud freemason. ALL American presidents are masons (with the exception of a very few people like JFK) and this can be seen in their hand-signs and secret handshakes.....Secret societies are NOT a good thing in this world. EXPOSE THEM!!!
What Masons won't tell you is that in the later years of his life, George Washington showed indifference to Masonry. He even sought to distance himself from Masonry. From Mount Vernon George Washington wrote in 1798:
"to correct an error you have run into, of my Presiding over the English lodges in this Country. The fact is, I preside over none, nor have I been in one more than once or twice, within the last thirty years."
@AgentxAnonymous Actually in his later life George Washington was still very active (as much as his life allowed) in Masonry. The difference being that he was active in the new state Lodges and Masonic functions and not the ENGLISH lodges (as your quote shows) as there were none left in the new United States. George Washington not only visited several Lodges he also lead the Masonic cornerstone laying ceremonies for the Capitol and the Executive Mansion.
Next stop... George Washington's tailor! Seriously, guys! You thought that your suits were OK?
