I go to the art institute of houston for animation and they do not show you how to do this! My school delvs more into modeling and 3D animation!!!!!!!
I would imagine it's harder to animate a lip synch to an already existing dialogue then it is to lip synch to an already existing animation. How does one do it?
Do they animate bit by bit as they hear the dialogue over and over again? Good job!
The accents need to be brought forward about 3 frames before the dialouge. There's too much going on and you need the head up there for people to register it about 3 frames before the dialogue.
i agreed with you and literally in the mid conversation some animation doesnt sync well with the VO if u look carefully, but cheers for the comment :)
@Julianimator That's not very specific. *Sweatdrops*
Do you know where you can get it? Like what store and what brand? Is it see though? Sorry for suddenly bombarding you with questions, but I desire to be an animator and don't have the resources (other than pencil) to do so.
That's an awesome reference! Will Ferrell as the Architect is hilarious.
I'm actually researching how to do lip-sync combined with dramatic body movements like this. How did you figure out how many frames/drawings are dedicated to each mouth position? Is there a resource online that teaches this technique? I've always taken the easy route of tweaking the duration of each position in post production, but that obviously doesn't work when the character moves around like this. Thanks for any ideas!
WOW!! That was awesome! I just started a computer animation course. It will be a while before I get to the animation part, but I can't wait. That was really great work! Thanks for sharing!

do you draw this on paper then scan it one by one?
madcat0149 2 years ago
It was done one by one on paper and then shot it under an animation camera before using a programme called Animo to adjust the timing in it. =)

is a frame by frame animation? do you use a lot of paper for this?
merdagon 2 years ago
Yup I literally used about 150 pieces of paper.

@Doorbell561417571541 well when compared to a Disney movie, of course it isn't. I thought the gestures and expressions were great.

Do you use different layers or..? I find it hard to do movements with the body at the same time the mouth is moving when I'm doing 2d animation
laphoo 3 years ago
Nope, it's all done in one layer. It is hard, but it is pure fun! :) Good luck to you too

great snap, and followthrough but the exaggeration goes way too far with the neck... it doesn't look believable when it stretches like that
