  • I remember seeing these guys in the early eighties ,at Sydney town hall. I was 18 ... Roger has the most sexiest eyes ever .

  • O remember seeing these playing at the town hall in Sydney early eighties , Roger was really Hot , sexy eyes for sure .

  • The tune is an old Scottish song. There are other old Australian songs that use the same tune. I dare say there are American ones too.

  • God it's weird watching my dad when he was 19. But, he can still rock that fiddle.

  • @153alira tell him hes only as old as he feels. ask him to play "beneath the southern cross" for you.

  • @TheAussie1970 don't need to, he plays that and many tunes every day.

  • The mullett and the mo!

  • Thankyou, youtube uploaders, my kids are learning to looove the Bushwackers!

  • Upload Murrumbidgee Please!

  • Anyone know what kinda bass this is?

  • Roger Corbett - Bass, Dan Bourke - Fiddle, Tony O'Neill - Fiddle, Tommy Emmanuel - Guitar, Robbie Ross (Goanna) Drums, Dobe Newton - Lagerphone/Vocals I know, I was there doing Monitors.........

  • They were a great band - I wish they were still around - Gotta love Dobe's mullet! -

  • yeah! Tommy! gotta love this one!!!

  • The skyhooks drummer, Freddy, was in this band too.

  • The vocalist in this clip is Dobe Newton who joined the band in 1972.

  • I think you could be right

  • @zefer14 Sorry, I added the comment from my other account and deleted it to add it from the right one, but you replied very quickly in the meantime!

For anyone else, I said "You might be confusing this with the other Lachlan Tigers clip I have up, which is from the 70s. None of the members in this video were in the Bushies in the 70s, the fashions are clearly 1980s and no one could call it soft!"

  • @nearlyoutofideas By which I mean, "no other members apart from Dobe Newton...." !

  • @nearlyoutofideas You forgot to mention Dobe Newton who has been in the band since 1972.

  • @nearlyoutofideas Dobe Newton's still in this clip from the 70's !

  • @nearlyoutofideas Yes they were, Dobe was in the original clip. :)

  • i heard this when i was 6 years old and my parents traveled with me through australia :D

  • this is great... brings back heaps of memories. Does anyone know the song "shoalhaven Man" and there's a clip from the Tamworth Gold Guitar Awards, (around 1987) worth seeing if anyone's got it.... they got beat by Bullamakanka!! I had it on VHS but would love to see it again.

  • great song name Lachlan Tigers.

  • Look at Tomymy Emmanuel, the skinny guitarist ! World famous now !!

  • The Bushwackers - a great Aussie band.

  • Do I hear "Devil Went Down To Georgia"?

  • Possibly, or a tune like it! They all sound the same, you know. :)

  • @nearlyoutofideas No this is a very early 70s song, it sounds like it, this is their soft version of this song

  • Johnny rosin up your bow and play your fiddle hard

Cause hell's broke loose in Georgia and the devil deals the cards

And if you win you get this shiny fiddle made of gold

But if you lose the devil gets your soul.

  • Lachlan Tigers is a folk tune. It's quite old. They may have the same source.
