I hope Claude Bolling would join Dubai jazzfest next year ( RIP Jean-Pierre Rampal) and play the suite for flute and piano. I had been attending the jazzfest for the past 5 days now (today's the 6th) and for the past 3 years in Dubai. It reminded me of them!

I am happy to say that I have played this piece many times - the flute part. The first time was in Washington, D.C. ain Gaston Hall at Georgetown University. We performed three of the movements and the audience was spellbound. I wish I could write something this captivating. Hounting, beautiful and technically difficult but remains emotional. Wonderful.

Claude Bolling compositions have been performed and recorded by both, Jean Pierre Rampal and Hubert Laws, two of the worlds best, I personally believe writing such a flawless, and beautiful piece is the more challenging part of the gift of music, creating out of thin air with such fluency is absolutely incredible...

My grandfather who passed away not so long ago used to listen to Bolling and Rampal a lot. This song makes me think of him....

The first time i heard this piece it marked a major part of my musical and literary ambitions.
