I’m not a Tory or supporter of Margret Thatcher’s polices, but I admire her as a strong political leader who fought for what she believed in! I think back then, most people were proud to be British and we had an identity! Unfortunately, we’re stuck with Cameron a political opportunist and coward with no substance!
@fakeittilyoumakeit32 you should of complied with the UN, respected the Security Council Resolution, took one of the 10 peace plans you rejected. And of course avoided all this by NOT CARRYING OUT ILLEGAL, UNPROVOKED AGGRESSION....
War is WAR......as the nephew of a Miner, who remenbers full well the hardships felt by his children, or Christmas'es spent in the Thorne Social Club....or collecting tins of food to feed Mining Families,..........and ALWAYS supporting LABOUR because that is what we did.......I am sorry....sorry to Mrs Thatcher and Sorry to the Conservative Party......I am now 32 and a true Blue. Thank God for my independant free thinking mind. I was raised and educated under a Conservative...... xxxx
Why is the concept of letting the islanders decide whether they are ruled by us, Argentina or themselves such a difficult concept for some people?
The same people who probably moan about the Palestinians not being allowed to decide their own future too. I see self determination is only for poor dark skinned people?
@ridinthenightrain And of course our position over the islands which is THE RIGHT TO SELF DETERMINATION is a founding, fundamental principle of the UN Charter. We are simply saying a founding and corner stone principle of the UN Charter which forms the basis of International law should be paramount....
@ridinthenightrain No it does not....Any one can google Resolution 2065. It was a non binding resolution, not a Mandatory Resolution passed by over 80 % of those attending were South American nations. It was NOT heard by a full sitting of the General Assembly and NEVER reached the Security Council....It was a simple exercise to appease Argentina.
@bannon1000 Have you seen the chart in the UN website that lists all the lands that are under colonization? If you haven't, 10 among of the 16 colonized lands, are ruled by UK, including The Falklands.
So, if the islands are not colonized, as you say, and they are legitimate british, why they appear on that list?
@ridinthenightrain Resolution 2065 was not worth the paper it was wrote on, that is WHY 20 years AFTER it when Argentina attacked the Islands the Security Council passed a MANDATORY Resolution 502 demanding Argentina with drawls its forces IMMEDIATELY. If you want to discuss International law & the UN at least know your stuff. The difference between Resolution 502 & 2065 is the UN gave LEGAL BACKING & VOTED for the UK yours did not even make it to a vote let alone secure one
@alabau66 I am not being manipulated. The UN....passed Resolution 502, the UN Security Council called the invasion ILLEGAL. The EU imposed sanctions and Australia acted too....Or are you saying all these nations & the many, may nations of the UN are all manipulated? HA HA HA HA HA......Do not be ridiculous.
Please, piss off! I just don't agree with the UK and it's policy on Malvinas. These islands are not important to UK. Your country just feed the savage part of your population.
@alabau66 No you can not answer it can you. We want the rights you enjoy for a peoples that have lived there for almost two centuries. We want International law & Human rights to prevail. We object to unprovoked aggression and the attempt to ethnically cleanse our people. We refuse to accept that soveringity can be changed by invasion. They are not important to the UK but the islanders human rights and their right to Self Determination is important.
@alabau66 No we uphold International law as we did when the UN General Assembly and the Security Council demanded the immediate with drawl of the Argentine forces. So as Maggie said in 1982 "The eyes of the world are now focused on the Falklands, to see if brute force or the rule of law triumphs". So that is what we feed on- the UN Charter, Human rights and the right of people.
@alabau66 No your more a lemming. Are you saying a peoples that have lived somewhere for almost 200 years and want the same rights you enjoy in Denmark should have no say on their future and simply handed over on the basis of territorial ambition only. Is that what your position is?
@alabau66 Do you think that we in the UK would stand by as our people were attacked, invaded and whose laws, traditions and even language was changed and then threatened with Ethnic cleansing and we would accept what the UN and the Security Council of the UN called "Illegal and unjustified aggression"....You think we should of simply accepted that?
This female murder did the biggest crimes in the world, but fortunately she is dead...!!!FALKLAND ISLANDS BELONGS TO ARGENTINA!!!SUPPORT TO AGENTINA FROM GREECE!!!
@theredraven i said ''one of the biggest murderers in world''...The only good she has done was the disappearance of hooliganism from England...Except those madeby thatcher, real crimes against humanity have been made by elizabeth. Do you want to tell you how many murders have been made in favor of the Crown???England has a big civilization, but the queens and prime ministers are of the greatest criminals that ever has brought humanity...
@destroyer21r Says a Greek whose country only exists since the hand out after hand out it has got and whose country has had riots every day for months & months. The Islanders have rights, we will insist those human rights are upheld.
@bannon1000 Look,I had not told you anything about your people...Do not speak for Greece, because the culture of Greece is not in any other state...Because some political garbage want to destroy them, not to say that the Greeks are killers...Which country the people are hurt by injustice, are considered heroes...
@alabau66 My point is simple. Denmark supported in FULL the UK in 1982 and that remains as true today. So your love of lady boys is clear, so do not live in countries that are our allies like Denmark....Go and live....if your not murdered in the lawless wild country of Argentina.
@alabau66 Says someone from Denmark whose only contribution to World War Two was cowardice and surrender. At least we have guts & principles. It is scum like you that would be speaking German had brave, principled people not stood up and be counted rather than be CONSPICUOUS by its Cowardice and be defined by its total lack of guts & principles.
@alabau66 The Cylde you cowardly, stupid prick....Is in Scotland not England Drrrrrrrrr. You want to focus on your Lady Boy Girlfriend/ boyfriend....And do tell, what advantages does it have having a partner with hairy palms & 6 fingers on each hand?
@alabau66 Ha ha ha ha.....Yeah.... does he/she have a beard...Well you ca pretend its a girl cat you.So your an Argie really....with a He/She as a partner...Nice. If you like that sort of thing
@alabau66 Malvinas? Never heard of them. Maybe your country should pay nations that fought and died and stood up for freedom and prevented you lot being part of of Germany. Because left to SPINELESS, WEAK , COWARDS like you that could not surrender fast enough we would all be German. Cowards and Spineless of the highest order.Shameful the way you betrayed ad refused to fight...Just threw your arses in the air, as COWARDS DO.
@alabau66 I DO OT TAKE lectures from people that dropped to their knees in cowardice faster than i ca blink. You cowardly, spineless people have nations like the UK to thank that your not part of Germany. COWARDS.
the difference, during WW2, was that you were protected by the channel and had a much larger population. Had you been the size of our, i'm sure you would have done the same.
@alabau66 You surrendered faster and on a scale that was shameful. Other countries FOUGHT , you lot sold out, threw your arses in th air ad SURRENDERED......Devoid of any courage or pride....o wonder you support the Argies your of similar ethics.
@alabau66 No we are a ation UNLIKE yours yours that sunk their own ships in WW2, stuck their arses in the air and cried SURRENDER TO GERMANY. You lot rolled over and SOLD OUT to Germany, it was nations like ours that FOUGHT....You know that thing called courage or you lot whom surrendered would be speaking German. COWARDS
@alabau66 No it is about the sinking of the Belgrano, that numb nuts was in the Falklands war. It is a web site that is about an issue the vast majority of the UK feel very strongly about ad its about the right to Self Determination of a peoples....Something your country would not have had we surrendered to Germany in WW2 like you lot did.
@alabau66 Are you really saying that people that have lived some where for the best part of 200 years should have o rights, choices or say in what they want?. The Faroe Islands are closer to the UK than Denmark but they are Danish....should we simply demand them and use our over whelming military power to seize them from you? What could you do? Nothing. Of course not, they Chose to remain Dutch. That is their right.
@alabau66 This is a British Falkland site....Not a mutual appreciation site for the bloody lying Argies. Piss off to an Argie site if you want to gush & arse hole with an Argie.
@ridinthenightrain Cristina Fernandez, like her husband is a idiot, we all know that. You wonderful people have to learn to elect honest polticians, like Pino Solanas, who want to help the people of Argentina, not exploid them!
@alabau66 I agree, I would have voted for Pino (I was 17 the past elections), he seems honest and concerned about our issues. Thank you so much for bringing to this a new point of view of someone who actually knows Argentina and our people and not some idiot trying to judge us. Thank you
@ridinthenightrain I am not "Judging you" i am dealing with FACT. The FACT is there is more murder in Argentina than France, UK & Norway combined. Why do you have such an issue with truth and reality?
@ridinthenightrain What it has to do with the FALKLANDS is this. Why would a wealthy almost totally crime free island of people POSSIBLY want to join a country so lawless? WHY?
@bannon1000 I don't care about the islands itself, we don't need more land. Apparently you do. And I personally don't want the islanders to be argentinean.
But what really annoys me is that you make profit from the Islands' resources because you scarcely have such natural resources.
It's like if Argentina ruled the Isle of Man, make profit from the Isle's resources and not let UK share those profits. It's completely nonsense.
@ridinthenightrain Actually if you bother to check your facts....We do NOT make money from the islands. We LOOSE money. The UK dos not make any money from the islands.None.
@ridinthenightrain Oil has NEVER produced profit in the Falklands. We did not know it was there eve during the Falklands war. The drilling for oil now is only exploration so its totally UNTRUE to say the UK makes money from the Falklands we LOOSE MILLIONS on it every single year. But its not about money, its about people choosing their way of life.Freedom to choose who they want to be.
@bannon1000 Look, you're being arrogant, nonsense, and you don't have a respect for other points of view, countries or people. I find it meaningless to go on with this conversation where you express so much hate when it's not need it. In this cases, we have to learn to separate things. If you don't like Arg. because of the war (the same way I dislike England) it's ok. But one thing it's a war and other thing is the country itself and the people.
@ridinthenightrain The TAXATION that the UK receives directly & indirectly from the Falklands is UNDER £10 MILLION a YEAR.....WE SPED £ 60 MILLION defending it. Now thats the UK LOOSING £50 MILLION a year...ALWAYS has been....So how ca we profit from that? We have NEVER profited from the Falklands ad some years we have lost even more, so its A LIE to say the UK profits or has profited...TOTAL LIE.
@theredraven No, I don't. I know the Malvinas are british, but as an argentinean, I object to private english companies making money out of the islands.
@ridinthenightrain We will decide who, where and when we make money from our people on our land. It has nothing what ever to do with Argentina. You would be better employed helping in the ever increasing shanty towns where there is often no power, toilets or clean water .Do not worry about islands and its issues that have nothing at all, in any way with Argentina.
@bannon1000 I don't have to worry about the islands because they have nothing to do with Argentina? You are the one that is from UK and is constantly pointing out Argentina's issues such as crime, like if I didn't know that. You seem to care too much.
If you don't like the argentineans objecting to what UK is doing in the Falklands, then don't waste your precious time in criticizing a country which has nothing to do with yours.
@ridinthenightrain It is Argentina pursuing our Falklands. It is Argentina running to the UN and demanding all sorts in relation to the Falklands. All the demands are being made by Argentina. The UK is seeking nothing except the islanders rights are upheld. And Argentina is also provoking a situation where the UK may have to exercise her right to resort to force to protect her people & land.
@bannon1000 I know all the things you said, in fact, I'm very proud of the demands we're making. I just don't understand why you're so so focused on our national issues when you hate my country and you could be spending that time in something useful for your country.
As I said before, I have no interest in going on a conversation with a person who can't stand other pov, or pretends to know more about my country's issues than me. If you hate Arg, don't waste your time reading facts about us.
@ridinthenightrain And i am very proud we reject all your demands and we have warned very publicly that we will "Never" bow to your demands and we will resort to military action if necessary. I am proud we are insisting that International law and human rights must be paramount and that there is NOTHING AT ALL your country can do....NOTHING.
@ridinthenightrain UN Resolution 2065 is an invitation for 2 nations to sit down and talk. UNLIKE RESOLUTION 502 it is only advisory, it is NOT a Mandatory Resolution and it was NOT passed by a vote of the Security Council and of course it came may years before the Falklands war and was FULLY SUPERSEDED by the UN action 20 years after Resolution 2065 was raised....So yes i have read up, clearly you have not.
@ridinthenightrain And finally Resolution 2065 was raised and voted for in the large by MAINLY South American countries....the vast majority was South American nations, the EU nations were not. It was a cheap, non binding resolution designed to pacify Argentina. No wonder it was only a selected sitting which never reached th FULL general Assembly or the Security Council....So yes read up...Save you making a fool of yourself
@ridinthenightrain UK & NO EU nation was present at the discussions. The motion was introduced by Chile on behalf of its other co-sponsors Bolivia, Cuba & Venezuela. It never was made to a full hearing, never taken to a vote of the Security Council & the text was fundamentally flawed as it made NO reference to Self Determination (Founding UN principle),also Argentina's territorial integrity over the islands has NO historical or legal standing.Contrary to UN principles.
@ridinthenightrain This mini committee that discussed an issue that only Argentine allies ad sponsors of this attended really says it all. It was not a full UN meeting, never made the Security Council & when you get a Resolution proposed & co-sponsored ANYONE can generate these resolutions. It had NO LEGAL MANDATE, was not a mandatory Resolution. It was an exercise to please Argentina that was not worth the paper it is wrote on.As the UN Showed 20 years AFTER this resolution
@ridinthenightrain Do Not LIE....It was an advisory resolution proposed & brought by Argentina and her supporters. It had no legal mandate, no vote for it, never made a full hearing and all of it was ENTIRELY ADVISORY....It was a pathetic attempt by Argentina and the few nations it cobbled together to get a resolution and it was not even attended by a full UN committee let alone taken to a vote or the Security Council...That is A FACT....FACT
@ridinthenightrain Every resolution, regardless of it being advisory or mandatory is listed and recorded as part of the UN Charter and to satisfy International legal requirements.
@bannon1000 Then it's valid like your full resolutions! the UN take sinto account every resolution whether it's advisory or not.
Regarding your previous statement, The UN list of Non-Self-Governing Territories is a list of countries that, according to the UN, are non-decolonized.
@ridinthenightrain No it does not take into account every resolution....DO NOT LIE. It records them, documents them but does not take them into consideration as like yours it has NO legal standing, NO legal basis STOP LYING. The difference with our Resolution was the UN supported & passed it, making it mandatory and binding. Yours was not even heard by a full committee or eve reached a vote....So o your resolution not valid simply documented as the UN is legally obliged to do
@bannon1000 Don't accuse somebody you don't know of being a lier. Moral principles.
The islands are located on the continental shelf facing Argentina, which give us a claim, as stated in the 1958 UN Convention on the Continental Shelf.
@ridinthenightrain LAIR....They are near to Argentina true but under the UN Charter & International law they are FAR outside your Territorial waters and you have no historical or legal claim. The proximity of the islands has no legality or validity in International law. Hence why the Argies have NEVER take that aspect to th UN or the International Court...It has NO LEGALITY....Your such a desperate , uneducated LIAR making it up as you go.
@ridinthenightrain You a prime example as to why the UK can NEVER trust Argentina. You have come on here LIED AND LIED about UN Resolutions, LIED about the proximity of the Falklands and making claims that have NO legal basis or standing....NONE. You are like EVERY Argie on here....You all are uneducated and LIARS....That is why we shall continue to prepare for war. Your a dishonest, lawless and deceitful peoples...AS YOU HAVE SHOWN AGAIN TONIGHT.
@bannon1000 Am I making that up? It's all over the internet! You really need to calm down, we're not making a diplomatic decision here, we're just exchanging points of view, like everybody does.
You just can't accuse every person that doesn't agree with you of liar, uneducated or wild. The uneducted person here is you, you don't have respect for anyone. If a person from Brazil, Denmark, etc. doesn't agree with you, you automatically point shit out about their country, like if yours was perfect.
@ridinthenightrain It is FACT ......FACT that the Resolution you quoted is simply an advisory resolution that never made a vote or eve a full committee...IT IS NON BINDING. You said the Falklands are in your continental shelf....LIE....Under International law it is NOT...... The islands are British , we shall never give them up. What can Argentina ACTUALLY DO ABOUT IT? TELL ME, WHAT?
@bannon1000 Apparently, you haven't read what I posted: You just can't accuse every person that doesn't agree with you of liar, uneducated or wild. The uneducted person here is you, you don't have respect for anyone. If a person from Brazil, Denmark, etc. doesn't agree with you, you automatically point shit out about their country, like if yours was perfect.
Your offenses (lawaless, etc) against us doesn't affect us, we know how we're and we are very proud of it. This conv. is over. Good luck
@ridinthenightrain So your Resolution was recorded as being discussed just as if a committee discussed and passed a resolution saying the man from the moon is real. Regardless of topic or content all resolutions are recorded as agreed in International law...But that does not make the valid. The only valid ones are the legally authorized & passed resolutions....Which yours was NOT.
@bannon1000 2 reasons to know why the islands shouldn't belong to you:
1- Regarding your previous statement, The UN list of Non-Self-Governing Territories is a list of countries that, according to the UN, are non-decolonized. Thus, they're a colony.
2- The islands are located on the continental shelf facing Argentina, which give us a claim, as stated in the 1958 UN Convention on the Continental Shelf.
@ridinthenightrain I mean how sloppy and silly that your advisory resolution NEVER mentioned the over riding ad founding principles of the UN Charter like the Right to Self Determination....missing such huge legal and weighty principles was ridiculous and the UK pointed that out and the advisory Resolution was dead in the water.
@ridinthenightrain Where the UK went for a Resolution it was voted for and passed by a full sitting of the Security Council whom passed the MANDATORY RESOLUTION. That is the difference we get the real deal, we get results, you seem happy with a resolution that had no vote, no legality ad not even heard by a full committee sitting. You should watch & learn from the UK...We get full, legally binding Resolutions...You get pathetic advisory ones....ha ha ha ha ha
@theredraven No. As an argentinean is obvious that I dislike the fact that UK is making money in the islands. It's just 'a matter of skin' (I don't know which the idiom in english is) but I know that the Islands are ruled by british, whether I like it or not. I just don't agree with that, if you were argentinean you wouldn't agree either. I think it's also a matter of where we were born and how we feel about it.
@ridinthenightrain STOP LYING....Your a LIAR....The UK does not make money out of the Falklands, it in fact spends over £40 million more on the islands than it gets.So your LIES fail. HMS Montrose has moved closer to Argentine waters, HMS Dauntless sails on towards you and HMS Protector has also bee on operations on Elephant Island. So your LYING fails and the UK continues to build up its military to stop the lawless, deceitful and wild Argentine THIEVES.
@bannon1000 What part of 'I don't want to continue a conversation with you' don't you understand? I couldn't careless what you think, we know better than anyone how we are and we are proud of it. Stop attacking people that don't agree with you. It's a MORAL law which is far more important than any principle.
Anyone who reads our conversation will realize that the disrespectful person is you and that our nationality has nothing to do with it. Accept that not everyone agrees with you and move on.
@ridinthenightrain Moral law? What nonsense.Any law has to be legally binding to be a law. The law we are insisting upon is THE most important. It is the HUMAN RIGHTS, BASIC RIGHTS, the Rule of International Law. The Argentines do not have moral law, if you did you would not spend millions of FREE TV for all WHILST 400+ babies & children starve to death ALL over Argentina. You would not pursue our land whilst 150,000 children MANY on PACO live on the streets....IMMORAL.
@ridinthenightrain So no, the....THE most important law is the law of a people...a law to protect HUMAN BEINGS. And your a complete LIAR....LIED about a resolution last night until i humiliated you and LIED saying the UK makes money from the Islands when the TRUTH is we sped may millions more than we gt back. But we have to sped it to protect our people from the DICTATORSHIP of Argentina and its lawless, wild ways.
@bannon1000 No shit Sherlock that the dictatorship was lawless.
Look what Roger Waters and Morrisey said. See? Not every english agrees with you.
For the record, you didn't humilliated me: I still firmly believe that 1) The Malvinas should be argentinean 2) the UK makes money in the Islands (whether they tell you or not, it's a FACT, as you always say) and 3) The 14 of June, our president'll reunite with the UN Committee and they'll take into account the resolution whether it's advisory or not.
@ridinthenightrain The UK makes money from th islands...... because you say so? ha ha ha ha. No evidence or basis to it just some Argie in its third world country says so...No not FACT....Your LYING AGAIN. Resolution 2065 has been around for OVER OVER 40 YEARS.It has NEVER been considered but after 4 decades because you say so it will suddenly be Considered? ha ha ha ha ha. You look & sound RIDICULOUS. Both Waters & Morrisey ARE IN Argentina on tour what else could they say?
@bannon1000 There're photos of machines extracting oil!
Waters and Moirrisay couldn't have say anything! Like The RS or P.McCartney did when they came here.
Stop pointing out our national issues, you seem to care too much.Hope you put the same obstinacy w/ your country's issues so you can be helpful there.
I won't stand more insults from you. If I'm exchanging opinions w/ other users, avoid replying me; is that too difficult? I feel sorry for you. I really wish you could learn how be less angry
@ridinthenightrain There machines LIAR are testing , assessing...No oil has been sold. It is purely exploration. The oil is NOT a commercial enterprise ad it could be 2 years before it is. STOP MAKING UP LIES. I am not angry i proud the UK is standing up against your country. All bullies & cowards must be faced down....ad that is what HMS Dauntless will do. And fading, has been pop stars on tour in Argentina saying what they did is meaningless to the UK....meaningless.
@bannon1000 They actually found petrol what it's so hard to understand? The Rockhopper enterprise found it. So, I'm not making up lies.
In the UK, those musicians have more influence than you for sure.
I really mean it: I hope that someday you could coexist with people that disagree with you in any aspect of life, and simply accept that not everyone thinks the same way and that it's what makes us unique.
I've had enough of insults. I'm not replying you anymore. Have a good life.
@ridinthenightrain LIAR....You do not find petrol you make it from oil. They have found oil, they are drilling but at this stage it is to purely assess its quality, the quantity ad the suitability to drill etc. Not a penny of oil has bee sold or offered. The Rock hopper company are carrying out tests. These could last up to 2 years.
@ridinthenightrain LIAR....I am talking about the press releases of Rock Hopper in 2012. They say they are at least 18 months to 2 years away from commercial production. That is their statement just 2 weeks ago.....So from Feb 2012 two years LIAR is Feb 2014.
That is why ad how we know the islands oil drilling is exploration and not a commercial venture yet.
@ridinthenightrain What is you position? Do you think the islanders that have lived there since 1833 should have no say or choice over what they want?. Should Argentina simply demand & dictate and we should just obey?. The islanders should have no choice if they are Argentine? What do you want to see happen?
@bannon1000 I just want you to recognize that those islands don't legitimate belong to you becasue. French navigator L. A. de Bougainville founded the first settlement. Then, Spain acquired the French colony in 1767 and placed it under a governor subordinate to the Bs As. colonial administration. And, needless to say, we declared ourselves independant from Spain. Therefore...
@ridinthenightrain The reason Argentina has refused to take its claim to the International claim and will not do so is the same reason the UN will not entertain the claim. It has NO claim. Argentina's claim is extremely weak to put it politely.
@bannon1000 Yes, but the UN support us. Don't forget that there is a special Committee on Decolonization. The UN list of Non-Self-Governing Territories (where the Malvinas are listed) is a list of countries that, are non-decolonized. So, if they are non-decolonized means that, according to the UN, they need to be free from its colonizers. Out of 16 colonies in the world you have 11! Do you have no shame?
I wonder if kids doubt about why the Malvinas are of the UK when they're NEXT to Argentina.
@ridinthenightrain No the UN does NOT support you. Because if it did then why in over 40 years has it NEVER taken forward your claim, never passed any rulings or resolutions to support your claim. With regards the decolonization committee. It includes places like the Falklands that have elected and chosen to remain as they are. They have democratically elected to remain as they were. So the rights under that allow them to stay as they are.Rightly so.
@ridinthenightrain Ad its totally UNTRUE to say that according to the UN they "need to be free"....totally untrue. What the UN says is the territories should have the RIGHT to b free if they want ad that Self Determination is paramount. The Falkland Islanders have that ad they choose to be British.
@ridinthenightrain It does not matter if we have 11 or 400. The key to it is that its people have the choice of what country they want to be part of. As long as thy have freedom to determine their ow futures that is all that matters. Just because the Falklands were once part of a empire does not mean we say to them you may want to stay British but you are not allowed eve if you want to as at one time you were part of a empire....Its ridiculous ad silly to say the least.
@bannon1000 be honest, if they wanted to be argentinean, you wouldn't let them either. You wouldn't give a land to Argentina or to any other country just becasue the inhabitants want to. We'll never agree and our conversation is the perfect example that argentineans are not all lawless and wild and that english people are not always respectful. Good night.
@ridinthenightrain Oh yes we would, we said in 1982 and ever since if the islanders wanted to be Argentine the "UK would unconditionally support that". Me personally i would too. My only view is the Islanders should choose their ow future, what ever they want that to be. So yes the UK does support that, but we object to the islanders being forced or ignored.
@ridinthenightrain Indeed they would. Look at the Conservatives position with Scotland. They are open for a referendum. And it's Scotland, not some islands lost in South Atlantic. Falklanders are British, they feel British, and they do not want to be Argentinian. If a referendum was demanded by the population, the result would be a huge defeat to Argentina. But I doubt even then would Argentinians back down. They don't have the same pragmatic and self-critic capacity that British people do.
@igoracc Don't judge people you don't know. We have self-critic and we know you won the war and that the falklanders want to remain british, but we just don't agree with it. The same way you wouldn't agree if you were argentinean.
You're saying that if the islanders wanted to be argentineans, UK would give away a land with a lot of natural resources to Argentina after wining a war? They wouldn't. No country would do that.
@ridinthenightrain LIAR....Do Not LIE....The islanders have the right to choose, we signed a decree with the UN in 1982 stating this. Th simple FACT is the islanders just do not want to b Argentine...Simple as that. We have always said and stated it in a decree to the Security Council and int was in OUR peace plans presented to Argentina in 1982 that Self Determination was paramount....The islanders simply do not want to join your lawless, wild shit hole. SIMPLE AS.
@bannon1000 How many times do I have to tell you to STOP replying me? Is that so difficult? Stop insulting us! remember who gave you food in the WWII.
That 'wild shit hole' as you call it, has immense falls, a glacier, the highest mountain in America, the widest river in the world, the stunning N. Huapi lake, the 7-colors hill, and my beautiful Buenos Aires.
We're not lawless, in fact, the Prosecutor in the International Criminal Court is an argentinean: he was voted unanimously by 70 countries.
@ridinthenightrain BRAZIL, US, UK, ITALY, SWITZERLAND, CANADA , SPAIN have ALL warned its citizens about travel in Argentina and about walking the strets at night. ALL have published OFFICIAL advice on their countries website warning of how dangerous Argentina is. Amnesty International published a report 2 weeks ago saying Argentina has a "DISTURBING" RECORD OF WOMAN BEING KILLED THROUGH DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. What as the election of a prosecutor got to do with how lawless you are? ha ha ha ha.
@ridinthenightrain "we" didn't win the war: I asm not British, I'm from a third country that has nothing to do with the issue. My position derives solely on my reasoning: I was a Falklander, I would prefer to be British (in any case, I would in fact be so, just because my ancestors were); and if I was Argentinian, I would have better things to think about than some stupid islands whose people wants no deal with me. My position extends to my own country.
@ridinthenightrain (continuation) If a part of my country wants the independence, then do a referendum and let the people decide.
As for resources and the British position, you are forgetting about what I told you regarding Scotland. Do you think Scotland is poorer than the Falklands? It has 3000 times more population - and it has the Northern Sea oil. And yet the British are considering the referendum between 2013 and 2015.
So YES, some countries would. Maybe not Argentina (continues).
@ridinthenightrain (continuation) Maybe not Argentina, still thinking with 19th century mentality. But the UK would - and is planning to do so with Scotland.
I really don't think we are going to achieve any kind of agreement, because you believe in coercion, you believe in imposition, you believe in war and violence and have no respect for democracy and popular will. Those principles are, on the contrary, crucial for me, and for any civilized person. So go on, start another war.
@igoracc It's a different situation!: If the islanders wanted to be argentinean, UK would've to give away the land to Argentina but Scotland want to be self-governed, UK doesn't have to give Scotland away to ANOTHER country.
Are you kidding me? the last thing I want on earth is a war. Just tell me in which part of what I said before did I imply wanting a war or not having respect for democracy? Copy and paste.
@ridinthenightrain The islanders choose to be BRITISH, they could CHOOSE to be Argentine but given your a third world, lawless and wild country they choose not to. They may also remember how you invaded them, changed their language, laws & traditions, placed them under house arrest, turned their post office into a toilet and wanted to Ethically cleanse them. How you defied every effort at peace and ignored the UN. They may also like to remember how TODAY you do not even recognize them.

Why is the concept of letting the islanders decide whether they are ruled by us, Argentina or themselves such a difficult concept for some people?
The same people who probably moan about the Palestinians not being allowed to decide their own future too. I see self determination is only for poor dark skinned people?

@ridinthenightrain No it does not....Any one can google Resolution 2065. It was a non binding resolution, not a Mandatory Resolution passed by over 80 % of those attending were South American nations. It was NOT heard by a full sitting of the General Assembly and NEVER reached the Security Council....It was a simple exercise to appease Argentina.
bannon1000 1 week ago
@bannon1000 Have you seen the chart in the UN website that lists all the lands that are under colonization? If you haven't, 10 among of the 16 colonized lands, are ruled by UK, including The Falklands.
So, if the islands are not colonized, as you say, and they are legitimate british, why they appear on that list?
ridinthenightrain 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain The Falklands is NOT under the UN list a colony...It is listed as an over seas dependency.......You really need to read up.
bannon1000 1 week ago

HA HA HA HA HA......Do not be ridiculous.
bannon1000 1 week ago
Please, piss off! I just don't agree with the UK and it's policy on Malvinas. These islands are not important to UK. Your country just feed the savage part of your population.
alabau66 1 week ago
@alabau66 No you can not answer it can you. We want the rights you enjoy for a peoples that have lived there for almost two centuries. We want International law & Human rights to prevail. We object to unprovoked aggression and the attempt to ethnically cleanse our people. We refuse to accept that soveringity can be changed by invasion. They are not important to the UK but the islanders human rights and their right to Self Determination is important.
bannon1000 1 week ago
@alabau66 No we uphold International law as we did when the UN General Assembly and the Security Council demanded the immediate with drawl of the Argentine forces. So as Maggie said in 1982 "The eyes of the world are now focused on the Falklands, to see if brute force or the rule of law triumphs". So that is what we feed on- the UN Charter, Human rights and the right of people.

bannon1000 1 week ago
@alabau66 Do you think that we in the UK would stand by as our people were attacked, invaded and whose laws, traditions and even language was changed and then threatened with Ethnic cleansing and we would accept what the UN and the Security Council of the UN called "Illegal and unjustified aggression"....You think we should of simply accepted that?

ridinthenightrain 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain What it has to do with the FALKLANDS is this. Why would a wealthy almost totally crime free island of people POSSIBLY want to join a country so lawless? WHY?
bannon1000 1 week ago
@bannon1000 I don't care about the islands itself, we don't need more land. Apparently you do. And I personally don't want the islanders to be argentinean.
But what really annoys me is that you make profit from the Islands' resources because you scarcely have such natural resources.
It's like if Argentina ruled the Isle of Man, make profit from the Isle's resources and not let UK share those profits. It's completely nonsense.
ridinthenightrain 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain Actually if you bother to check your facts....We do NOT make money from the islands. We LOOSE money. The UK dos not make any money from the islands.None.
bannon1000 1 week ago
@bannon1000 Oh right, you don't make money out of oil...
I don't know why to hate us so much. Just remember which country sent you food during the WWII.
ridinthenightrain 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain Oil has NEVER produced profit in the Falklands. We did not know it was there eve during the Falklands war. The drilling for oil now is only exploration so its totally UNTRUE to say the UK makes money from the Falklands we LOOSE MILLIONS on it every single year. But its not about money, its about people choosing their way of life.Freedom to choose who they want to be.
bannon1000 1 week ago
@bannon1000 Look, you're being arrogant, nonsense, and you don't have a respect for other points of view, countries or people. I find it meaningless to go on with this conversation where you express so much hate when it's not need it. In this cases, we have to learn to separate things. If you don't like Arg. because of the war (the same way I dislike England) it's ok. But one thing it's a war and other thing is the country itself and the people.
ridinthenightrain 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain And it was not England that fought it was the United Kingdom
bannon1000 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain The TAXATION that the UK receives directly & indirectly from the Falklands is UNDER £10 MILLION a YEAR.....WE SPED £ 60 MILLION defending it. Now thats the UK LOOSING £50 MILLION a year...ALWAYS has been....So how ca we profit from that? We have NEVER profited from the Falklands ad some years we have lost even more, so its A LIE to say the UK profits or has profited...TOTAL LIE.
bannon1000 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain Scarcely have natural resources?
We have Coal, North Sea Oil, Shale Gas in addition to many types of ore.
Most of the money from Falkland oil will be made by private companies anyway. Do you object to private companies making money?
theredraven 1 week ago
@theredraven No, I don't. I know the Malvinas are british, but as an argentinean, I object to private english companies making money out of the islands.
ridinthenightrain 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain We will decide who, where and when we make money from our people on our land. It has nothing what ever to do with Argentina. You would be better employed helping in the ever increasing shanty towns where there is often no power, toilets or clean water .Do not worry about islands and its issues that have nothing at all, in any way with Argentina.
bannon1000 1 week ago
@bannon1000 I don't have to worry about the islands because they have nothing to do with Argentina? You are the one that is from UK and is constantly pointing out Argentina's issues such as crime, like if I didn't know that. You seem to care too much.
If you don't like the argentineans objecting to what UK is doing in the Falklands, then don't waste your precious time in criticizing a country which has nothing to do with yours.
ridinthenightrain 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain It is Argentina pursuing our Falklands. It is Argentina running to the UN and demanding all sorts in relation to the Falklands. All the demands are being made by Argentina. The UK is seeking nothing except the islanders rights are upheld. And Argentina is also provoking a situation where the UK may have to exercise her right to resort to force to protect her people & land.
bannon1000 1 week ago
@bannon1000 I know all the things you said, in fact, I'm very proud of the demands we're making. I just don't understand why you're so so focused on our national issues when you hate my country and you could be spending that time in something useful for your country.
As I said before, I have no interest in going on a conversation with a person who can't stand other pov, or pretends to know more about my country's issues than me. If you hate Arg, don't waste your time reading facts about us.

bannon1000 1 week ago
@bannon1000 If it was advisory, and if it's not valid, why does that resolution appear on the UN website?

@bannon1000 2 reasons to know why the islands shouldn't belong to you:

2- The islands are located on the continental shelf facing Argentina, which give us a claim, as stated in the 1958 UN Convention on the Continental Shelf.
Answer both points, please.
ridinthenightrain 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain I mean how sloppy and silly that your advisory resolution NEVER mentioned the over riding ad founding principles of the UN Charter like the Right to Self Determination....missing such huge legal and weighty principles was ridiculous and the UK pointed that out and the advisory Resolution was dead in the water.
bannon1000 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain Where the UK went for a Resolution it was voted for and passed by a full sitting of the Security Council whom passed the MANDATORY RESOLUTION. That is the difference we get the real deal, we get results, you seem happy with a resolution that had no vote, no legality ad not even heard by a full committee sitting. You should watch & learn from the UK...We get full, legally binding Resolutions...You get pathetic advisory ones....ha ha ha ha ha
bannon1000 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain Why should you object to the islanders deciding who to do business with?
That's the same kind of stupid argument the Americans use to stop people doing business with countries they don't like.
theredraven 1 week ago
@theredraven I object because it's simply my point of view. The same way you have yours.
ridinthenightrain 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain ............You object for the sake of objecting then?
theredraven 1 week ago
@theredraven One's person point of view is shown to other people by objecting, criticizing, agreeing, disagreeing or by stating ideas.
ridinthenightrain 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain But what is your reason? Would you object to for example, companies from Brazil making money in the islands?
theredraven 1 week ago
@theredraven No. As an argentinean is obvious that I dislike the fact that UK is making money in the islands. It's just 'a matter of skin' (I don't know which the idiom in english is) but I know that the Islands are ruled by british, whether I like it or not. I just don't agree with that, if you were argentinean you wouldn't agree either. I think it's also a matter of where we were born and how we feel about it.
ridinthenightrain 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain STOP LYING....Your a LIAR....The UK does not make money out of the Falklands, it in fact spends over £40 million more on the islands than it gets.So your LIES fail. HMS Montrose has moved closer to Argentine waters, HMS Dauntless sails on towards you and HMS Protector has also bee on operations on Elephant Island. So your LYING fails and the UK continues to build up its military to stop the lawless, deceitful and wild Argentine THIEVES.
bannon1000 1 week ago
@bannon1000 What part of 'I don't want to continue a conversation with you' don't you understand? I couldn't careless what you think, we know better than anyone how we are and we are proud of it. Stop attacking people that don't agree with you. It's a MORAL law which is far more important than any principle.
Anyone who reads our conversation will realize that the disrespectful person is you and that our nationality has nothing to do with it. Accept that not everyone agrees with you and move on.
ridinthenightrain 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain Moral law? What nonsense.Any law has to be legally binding to be a law. The law we are insisting upon is THE most important. It is the HUMAN RIGHTS, BASIC RIGHTS, the Rule of International Law. The Argentines do not have moral law, if you did you would not spend millions of FREE TV for all WHILST 400+ babies & children starve to death ALL over Argentina. You would not pursue our land whilst 150,000 children MANY on PACO live on the streets....IMMORAL.
bannon1000 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain So no, the....THE most important law is the law of a people...a law to protect HUMAN BEINGS. And your a complete LIAR....LIED about a resolution last night until i humiliated you and LIED saying the UK makes money from the Islands when the TRUTH is we sped may millions more than we gt back. But we have to sped it to protect our people from the DICTATORSHIP of Argentina and its lawless, wild ways.
bannon1000 1 week ago
@bannon1000 No shit Sherlock that the dictatorship was lawless.
Look what Roger Waters and Morrisey said. See? Not every english agrees with you.
For the record, you didn't humilliated me: I still firmly believe that 1) The Malvinas should be argentinean 2) the UK makes money in the Islands (whether they tell you or not, it's a FACT, as you always say) and 3) The 14 of June, our president'll reunite with the UN Committee and they'll take into account the resolution whether it's advisory or not.
ridinthenightrain 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain The UK makes money from th islands...... because you say so? ha ha ha ha. No evidence or basis to it just some Argie in its third world country says so...No not FACT....Your LYING AGAIN. Resolution 2065 has been around for OVER OVER 40 YEARS.It has NEVER been considered but after 4 decades because you say so it will suddenly be Considered? ha ha ha ha ha. You look & sound RIDICULOUS. Both Waters & Morrisey ARE IN Argentina on tour what else could they say?
bannon1000 1 week ago
@bannon1000 There're photos of machines extracting oil!
Waters and Moirrisay couldn't have say anything! Like The RS or P.McCartney did when they came here.
Stop pointing out our national issues, you seem to care too much.Hope you put the same obstinacy w/ your country's issues so you can be helpful there.
I won't stand more insults from you. If I'm exchanging opinions w/ other users, avoid replying me; is that too difficult? I feel sorry for you. I really wish you could learn how be less angry
ridinthenightrain 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain There machines LIAR are testing , assessing...No oil has been sold. It is purely exploration. The oil is NOT a commercial enterprise ad it could be 2 years before it is. STOP MAKING UP LIES. I am not angry i proud the UK is standing up against your country. All bullies & cowards must be faced down....ad that is what HMS Dauntless will do. And fading, has been pop stars on tour in Argentina saying what they did is meaningless to the UK....meaningless.
bannon1000 1 week ago
@bannon1000 They actually found petrol what it's so hard to understand? The Rockhopper enterprise found it. So, I'm not making up lies.
In the UK, those musicians have more influence than you for sure.
I really mean it: I hope that someday you could coexist with people that disagree with you in any aspect of life, and simply accept that not everyone thinks the same way and that it's what makes us unique.
I've had enough of insults. I'm not replying you anymore. Have a good life.
ridinthenightrain 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain LIAR....You do not find petrol you make it from oil. They have found oil, they are drilling but at this stage it is to purely assess its quality, the quantity ad the suitability to drill etc. Not a penny of oil has bee sold or offered. The Rock hopper company are carrying out tests. These could last up to 2 years.
bannon1000 1 week ago
@bannon1000 That piece of news I gave you (of the Rockhopper) was from 2010... do you know how to make maths?
ridinthenightrain 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain LIAR....I am talking about the press releases of Rock Hopper in 2012. They say they are at least 18 months to 2 years away from commercial production. That is their statement just 2 weeks ago.....So from Feb 2012 two years LIAR is Feb 2014.
That is why ad how we know the islands oil drilling is exploration and not a commercial venture yet.
bannon1000 1 week ago
@bannon1000 You said that from the date they found oil the process will last 2 years.
/watch?v=twPC0Ffanqo it's from 7/5/2010.
Look, I have a dinner tonight. So, goodnight. Take life lighter
ridinthenightrain 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain What is you position? Do you think the islanders that have lived there since 1833 should have no say or choice over what they want?. Should Argentina simply demand & dictate and we should just obey?. The islanders should have no choice if they are Argentine? What do you want to see happen?
bannon1000 1 week ago
@bannon1000 I just want you to recognize that those islands don't legitimate belong to you becasue. French navigator L. A. de Bougainville founded the first settlement. Then, Spain acquired the French colony in 1767 and placed it under a governor subordinate to the Bs As. colonial administration. And, needless to say, we declared ourselves independant from Spain. Therefore...
ridinthenightrain 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain Yes they are British....Speaking of the 1767 claim Captain Strong named them etc in 1690....So yes they are British.
bannon1000 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain The reason Argentina has refused to take its claim to the International claim and will not do so is the same reason the UN will not entertain the claim. It has NO claim. Argentina's claim is extremely weak to put it politely.
bannon1000 1 week ago
@bannon1000 Right, our claim is so weak, that's why the UN is going to meet our president.
ridinthenightrain 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain Any member of the UN can meet with the UN....That is perfectly normal and meas nothing.
bannon1000 1 week ago
@bannon1000 Yes, but the UN support us. Don't forget that there is a special Committee on Decolonization. The UN list of Non-Self-Governing Territories (where the Malvinas are listed) is a list of countries that, are non-decolonized. So, if they are non-decolonized means that, according to the UN, they need to be free from its colonizers. Out of 16 colonies in the world you have 11! Do you have no shame?
I wonder if kids doubt about why the Malvinas are of the UK when they're NEXT to Argentina.
ridinthenightrain 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain No the UN does NOT support you. Because if it did then why in over 40 years has it NEVER taken forward your claim, never passed any rulings or resolutions to support your claim. With regards the decolonization committee. It includes places like the Falklands that have elected and chosen to remain as they are. They have democratically elected to remain as they were. So the rights under that allow them to stay as they are.Rightly so.
bannon1000 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain Ad its totally UNTRUE to say that according to the UN they "need to be free"....totally untrue. What the UN says is the territories should have the RIGHT to b free if they want ad that Self Determination is paramount. The Falkland Islanders have that ad they choose to be British.
bannon1000 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain It does not matter if we have 11 or 400. The key to it is that its people have the choice of what country they want to be part of. As long as thy have freedom to determine their ow futures that is all that matters. Just because the Falklands were once part of a empire does not mean we say to them you may want to stay British but you are not allowed eve if you want to as at one time you were part of a empire....Its ridiculous ad silly to say the least.
bannon1000 1 week ago
@bannon1000 be honest, if they wanted to be argentinean, you wouldn't let them either. You wouldn't give a land to Argentina or to any other country just becasue the inhabitants want to. We'll never agree and our conversation is the perfect example that argentineans are not all lawless and wild and that english people are not always respectful. Good night.
ridinthenightrain 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain Oh yes we would, we said in 1982 and ever since if the islanders wanted to be Argentine the "UK would unconditionally support that". Me personally i would too. My only view is the Islanders should choose their ow future, what ever they want that to be. So yes the UK does support that, but we object to the islanders being forced or ignored.

@ridinthenightrain "You wouldn't give a land to Argentina or to any other country just becasue the inhabitants want to."
Then why has all of the empire that wanted it been given independence? Why are we offering Scotland a referendum on independence?
01000001011100100111 1 week ago
@ridinthenightrain Indeed they would. Look at the Conservatives position with Scotland. They are open for a referendum. And it's Scotland, not some islands lost in South Atlantic. Falklanders are British, they feel British, and they do not want to be Argentinian. If a referendum was demanded by the population, the result would be a huge defeat to Argentina. But I doubt even then would Argentinians back down. They don't have the same pragmatic and self-critic capacity that British people do.
igoracc 5 days ago
@igoracc Don't judge people you don't know. We have self-critic and we know you won the war and that the falklanders want to remain british, but we just don't agree with it. The same way you wouldn't agree if you were argentinean.
You're saying that if the islanders wanted to be argentineans, UK would give away a land with a lot of natural resources to Argentina after wining a war? They wouldn't. No country would do that.
ridinthenightrain 4 days ago
@ridinthenightrain LIAR....Do Not LIE....The islanders have the right to choose, we signed a decree with the UN in 1982 stating this. Th simple FACT is the islanders just do not want to b Argentine...Simple as that. We have always said and stated it in a decree to the Security Council and int was in OUR peace plans presented to Argentina in 1982 that Self Determination was paramount....The islanders simply do not want to join your lawless, wild shit hole. SIMPLE AS.
bannon1000 4 days ago
@bannon1000 How many times do I have to tell you to STOP replying me? Is that so difficult? Stop insulting us! remember who gave you food in the WWII.
That 'wild shit hole' as you call it, has immense falls, a glacier, the highest mountain in America, the widest river in the world, the stunning N. Huapi lake, the 7-colors hill, and my beautiful Buenos Aires.
We're not lawless, in fact, the Prosecutor in the International Criminal Court is an argentinean: he was voted unanimously by 70 countries.
ridinthenightrain 4 days ago
@ridinthenightrain BRAZIL, US, UK, ITALY, SWITZERLAND, CANADA , SPAIN have ALL warned its citizens about travel in Argentina and about walking the strets at night. ALL have published OFFICIAL advice on their countries website warning of how dangerous Argentina is. Amnesty International published a report 2 weeks ago saying Argentina has a "DISTURBING" RECORD OF WOMAN BEING KILLED THROUGH DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. What as the election of a prosecutor got to do with how lawless you are? ha ha ha ha.
bannon1000 4 days ago
@ridinthenightrain "we" didn't win the war: I asm not British, I'm from a third country that has nothing to do with the issue. My position derives solely on my reasoning: I was a Falklander, I would prefer to be British (in any case, I would in fact be so, just because my ancestors were); and if I was Argentinian, I would have better things to think about than some stupid islands whose people wants no deal with me. My position extends to my own country.
igoracc 4 days ago
@ridinthenightrain (continuation) If a part of my country wants the independence, then do a referendum and let the people decide.
As for resources and the British position, you are forgetting about what I told you regarding Scotland. Do you think Scotland is poorer than the Falklands? It has 3000 times more population - and it has the Northern Sea oil. And yet the British are considering the referendum between 2013 and 2015.
So YES, some countries would. Maybe not Argentina (continues).
igoracc 4 days ago
@ridinthenightrain (continuation) Maybe not Argentina, still thinking with 19th century mentality. But the UK would - and is planning to do so with Scotland.
I really don't think we are going to achieve any kind of agreement, because you believe in coercion, you believe in imposition, you believe in war and violence and have no respect for democracy and popular will. Those principles are, on the contrary, crucial for me, and for any civilized person. So go on, start another war.
igoracc 4 days ago
@igoracc It's a different situation!: If the islanders wanted to be argentinean, UK would've to give away the land to Argentina but Scotland want to be self-governed, UK doesn't have to give Scotland away to ANOTHER country.
Are you kidding me? the last thing I want on earth is a war. Just tell me in which part of what I said before did I imply wanting a war or not having respect for democracy? Copy and paste.
ridinthenightrain 4 days ago
@ridinthenightrain The islanders choose to be BRITISH, they could CHOOSE to be Argentine but given your a third world, lawless and wild country they choose not to. They may also remember how you invaded them, changed their language, laws & traditions, placed them under house arrest, turned their post office into a toilet and wanted to Ethically cleanse them. How you defied every effort at peace and ignored the UN. They may also like to remember how TODAY you do not even recognize them.
