All Bungie needs to do is take the data for the AI( Brutes, flood ect) And add the data to existing maps which will be the hard part.

Well, first of all, they can't add stuff to already released Multiplayer maps. Second, there's a limit of data every map can hold. When Bungie was working on Avalanche, they were worried it wouldn't be possible to add the snow-camo to the vehicles of the map because of the extra data (that's also why there's a small limit on the Warthogs to spawn). AI (Brutes, Flood, etc.) would take way more data then different vehicle textures. :)

It would be freakin' awesome, though.

A map editor is within reach though. Using simple grid structure and set environmental and structural objects, it could be done. Timesplitters did it.

Where this would completely trump timesplitters is the possibility that once you make the map you could edit specific objects in it the "forge" way adding a completely new element to it.

They really dropped the ball on this one. They've already said that the stationary bots aren't ever coming to Forge, but they gave no word on the supposed "map editor" found at the end of the video. Which means it could be coming in the September Autoupdate, but since they haven't said ANYTHING clarifying about it, it might be much later down the line.

It's obvious the bots are possible, because we've all seen them in modded Forge maps running on normal consoles. Real letdown if you ask me.

Yea, I know. As I said, they're not bringing "stationary bots", even though they've found there way into modded Forge maps in some capacity.

Secondly, who says they're gonna crash the the 360? Obviously they got it up and running in some fashion as seen from the video, they could theoretically put them in the game if they decided to put the work in in do it. But knowing Bungie, that's highly unlikely.

Well if a dev kit is used to develop and test games that are going to be produced on the 360, then theoretically it should have the same power as a normal 360.

Regardless, other games have done much more with much less, it's a possibility. Any what ifs are simply defending their decision to show off something just to tease their fan base, which I'm not in support of.

Well, Bungie isn't lying. If they put in AI codes for bots, that would make the system crash. Cooperative is a "different multiplayer" that is designed to handle the capacity of an AI as well as 4 players.

And besides, once they put in codes for AI, then people will demand Scarabs, and that's just pushing it.

A map editor would be cool, but remember, Bungie would do something that could crash the game.

In the 8/22/08 Bungie Update, they made it clear that there are NO AI bot programs or controlling are in the making, and that they are not done with Halo 3 yet. The only thing for sure is that map editor. No putting campaign stuff in multiplayer, no additional Forge stuff.

Its hinting at a level creator, probably like a much more advanced forge. And he's walking around Rats Nest in some parts, so maybe they're adding new forge items, such as enemies ;) Would make sense cos of people modding maps for spartans and elites.
