soorry about double posting, but:

1. I think you lucked out with near zero caves seeing as it looks like almost all zombies seen were used in the i think 210 hostile spawn limit

2. if you want reserved picks for ores or even just diamonds that have enchants, use gold. If you get some unbreaking on it (highly likely because of being gold) and probably silk touch then you are in business. However, I recomend only doing that with gold picks seeing as armor would be near useless minus water breath

Definitely he should not use a splash potion with that many stacked zombies. The lag would crash the computer. Its safe to do with a handful but he had something like 700 zombies there. I heard about someone who did that and had serious problems.

Fortune only works on blocks you can't make yourself. So smoothstone, obsidian... yea, doesn't work, because it would effectively be a 'dupe bug'. It only works on things like Ore, although if you have Fortune on a shovel, it'll always produce flint.

Fortune works with any ore which isn't a block. Otherwise you would be able to duplicate it. With fortune 4 on SMP, we were getting anywhere between 3-8 diamonds for each mine, making 74 in 10 minutes.

What's with this level 12 nonsense? Diamonds are fairly evenly distributed between level 4 and 13 based on my 1.0 save. (note that's actual coordinates, the reported ones are 1 higher since it's of your viewpoint). The reason why they're rare below 4 is because bedrock takes over at that point, they'd probably be even all the way down to level 0 if not for the bedrock.

@abnormallylargepeas Exactly, according to antvenom's tenchantment testing video, a full set of fire protection armour makes you entirely immune to lava, although your food bar drains a little faster, so its something to watch

hey coe u can use that pick because you can now repair equipment :D you just need to make another one of your item you want to repair and put them both in the same crafting table. ex: you have a diamond pick and it is at read health, get another daimond pick and put it in the same crafting box and you get a new pick with full durability. thumbs up fo coe to see, hope this helps

Coe, the reason you can't find many diamonds is you are digging too low. The best level to branch mine at is when f3 shows y to be 10.6. Hope this helps!
