  • vancouver sucks

  • I wanna go there, i need to try your bud

  • I love you, Vancouver

  • reminds me of last year summer! swimming at white pine

  • @yourmaker74 omg i swam there last summer XD

  • Hope i get to live somewhere so clean and pretty someday... London stinks :/

  • the floating boats are great. i've got to try that

  • Amazing,great video!

  • 0:15 AQUABUS away!!!!!

  • i'd just like to say that this is amazing, i live in vancouver and it really makes me love it more (: beautiful shots!

  • cool video! if you like vancouver, you'd probably like our project.... check it out!

  • @vancouverweloveyou Great video and cool shirts! I really do like Vancouver and I would love to live there one day.

  • @DizzyCtube you'll have to get a shirt... and then you can wear it when you move here :)

  • how many pics do you shot in a minute??

  • @Xaaser It depends on how fast I want to scene to look after being sped up. Some scenes I shot 1 photo per second (like the ones with people walking around), and other scenes I shot 1 photo per 15 seconds (sunset sequence).

  • 14 gold medals out of 14 gold medals for canada :D

  • great video. the building that was being constructed almost looked fake, great video and picture quality

  • sorry.... I really don't get this. the d80 doesn't have video mode..... but than how......

  • @key00992233 The d80 doesn't have a video mode, you're right! I used an intervalometer to take pictures one after another with a specific interval between them. For instance, I would take a photo, wait 2 seconds, take another photo, wait 2 seconds, etc etc. Then I compile all the photos into a movie. This essentially speeds up time.

  • @DizzyCtube ahh dude.... I knew that.... :DD lolz u really are awesome..... I used to try that with my cam..... It didn't work for me, cuz I wasn't patient enough.... lol one more question.... what is an intervalometer??? is it like a feature in your cam that it takes a picture in at a certain point repeating or is it a tactic? srry..... i am not american.

  • @key00992233 No problem! I can understand you just fine :) An intervalometer is a device that you attach to your camera that takes a picture repeatedly every certain number of seconds (you determine the amount of time between each picture). Some cameras (like my Nikon D300) have one built in, but others will need an external device. The D300 doesn't have a very good internal one, so I bought an external one with more features.

  • @DizzyCtube Are you American? And what is the name of this song?

  • @JoDaddyy I am infact Canadian. The song is "There's Never Enough Time" by the Postal Service!

  • @JoDaddyy Oh, sorry, lol. I asked that because Key00992233 said he wasn't american, so I obviously assumed that he was implying that you were.

  • i think its hard work to cut all pictures ! very good!

  • 5 Furry Beavers out of 5 Furry Beavers!

  • mind sharing your time lapse method for the d80? did you use a third party intervalometer?

  • I used a Phottix Nikos N6 Remote with my D80 for timelapse. It cost about $50 on ebay, and it was more than just an intervalometer. You can use it as a remote trigger, you can set it for long exposures, and you can set it to take a certain number of frames in burst succession. I now use a Nikon D300, but I use the same intervalometer (it just comes with a different cord with the D300 plug). Great remote, I really reccommend it!

  • @DizzyCtube Thanks for the quick reply! :D been wanting to try shooting time lapse but I didn't know how to with my d80. Helped a lot, thanks.

  • very nice! thanks for sharing... Have you used the 80-400 lens hand held? is the video of usable quality - 300mm and beyond or is it far beyond shaky?

  • @myusernameisgod

    Thanks for the comment!

The 80-400mm is a great lens when used securely on a tripod, but handheld it is fairly useless after about 200mm. It is a fairly old lens and has no form of vibration reduction, so it becomes quite shaky.

  • hey thanks for the info... keep making great videos!

  • Thanks, I'll try! I've been pretty busy with school lately, but I upgraded my camera body a while ago to a D300 and I'm planning on another city timelapse. This time, I'll be shooting in RAW and accounting for the crop factor for true HD (no more black bars on the side)

  • Dude! Nice work!

  • Wow, cool video and music! ;)

  • Awesome video! Fantastic city. Thanks Utoobasaurus for sharing. 5*

  • Real cool mate! Loved it!

  • The best! 5*awesomeness!

  • Gorgeous! I live here and am still in awe of the many scenes of beauty. My humble digital cannot do this but now and then I get an awesome shot. My fave beach is here, where the pile of logs are.. and they are free to cut up take all winter. Spanish Banks.

  • Well done! I really like your work. Found this by looking at what CTV said their photographer had done....I like yours better....

  • great video. What was the average original capturing frame rate? and what was the play-back frame rate?

    Well done :)

  • My intervals ranged from 1 frame per second (bridge sequence, close and fast moving objects) to 1 frame every 15 seconds (sunset, slow and lengthy movements)

Playback ranged from 15fps to 30 fps!

  • beautifully done.

    and wow, no sarcastic comments.....

  • it was beautiful, it was gorgeous, it was stunning... apart from that it was allright =)

    5 stars!

  • Very clean and crisp. Good compositions. I'm planning to use a 5 Megapixel camera for time lapse and I hope that the quality will be just as impressive when converting the stills to HD. I was recommended by an expert to use a minimum of 8MP for good looking HD but surely, that's overkill? By the way, I'm an Aussie who's been to Vancouver and I think that it's an awesome city!

  • 5 MP should be plenty for HD! These frames were taken at the lowest resolution my D80 could handle, which was probably around 5MP. Even then I had to resize the video to fit HD format.

You're in Australia eh? I would love to see timelapse of your country!. I have always wanted to go to Australia. If you end up doing your timelapse, let me know!

  • Ah thankyou for confirming my suspicions regarding resolution! Yea, Ive done a fair amount of time lapse on super 8 movie film. I uploaded a montage of some of my clips on youtube - all of it filmed in my state of South Australia.

  • Very neat!

  • great stuff ! awesome

  • what did you use to do the time lapse? i have the same camera and i'm in the market for a time lapse module. I've seen several out there.

  • I used the Phottix Nikos N6 Remote. You can get one on ebay for about 50 bucks, and the company I bought it from shipped for free!

Just look up "Nikos N6" in ebay and you will see the remote I am talking about.

  • Instant favorite!

  • Beautiful!....Vancouver truly is #1. That's way it is continuously voted the best city in the world to live in! 5*****....well done....please do more like this..thanks!

  • very cool. thanks for showing this!

  • Thanks for watching!

  • OH WOW

    great job

i was there july 22 - aug 11 i wonder if you got me...

    i didn't see a large sweaty blob....

  • Hahaha I'm afraid I wouldn't have seen you. I was there August 14th - August 19th. Now I'm back home in Alberta....inland. Beautiful place isn't it? I'll be going back often.

  • how long did this take you to shoot ??

  • I shot this over a period of about 4 days. Most of the shorter sequences took only a few minutes of waiting at 1 frame/1-3 seconds, while the sunset sequence took about an hour of waiting at 1 frame/5 seconds. I didn't go to Vancouver primarily to gather content for a time-lapse, but it was a major objective I had in mind for the trip. I'll post a link in this video's info box to some still frame photography I gathered also from the trip!

  • how neat.
