@longhorn261 Hey, they are much better than the Type S series. They are very high quality and I am not upgrading anymore as it will be hard to tell if I upgrade again. If you want loud, go with like Type R components and there 6x9's, Type X is for high Quality sound and Ballers certified only.

@surferKid41 That M500 will be good for one Sub, but not 2 unless the RMS rating on the Subs are 200 RMS and under. I would return it and get the M1000 :P Line up for Boxing day and get it, it would be like $200 and you will have 1000 RMS and can easily power 2 subs :O

@surferKid41 Hey, the F300 can do 50 RMSx4 at 4 ohms and that will be good enough. Alpine Type R speakers will go very good with that and juice them up nicely.

@jattsr1 Well, you probably have your X in a selaed Shitty box or something man LoL. Not too sure but there is no way that a Type R can hit harder than your X, you may have to adjust the Gain controls and what not, Crossover as well plays a big factor. Also it depends on the vehicle as well.
@hugefukinstepring It is very good for the Type X but the PDX amp is way better because the Crossover leads up to 24DB and the M1000 only goes to 12DB.
Dude this is a crazy system. Nothing but the top of the line. Must have set you back a good couple grand haha but it's totally worth it. I just wish I had that kinda money! In the mean time, I'm just going out of my Hertz 6.5 coax, cda-105, type r 12 and mtx 600 watt amp.

@Earthquake2009 Depends on what year you have. 99-01 are a bit harder because they are "Single-Din and a Half" where the 02-05 are "Double-Din" and can fit a 7" Indash screen in there very easy.

Well, I did have a 6x9 speaker(s) in there. Put the Component right beside the speakers, simple dude, I could have put it anywhere a wanted to Really. It also still left me tons of room to mount the crossover as well.
Yo, lovin the type x setup. need to get me some of them 5 1/4"s for my next car, but for now stickin with the type rs. sounds great though. really lookin forward to pickin those up in the next year or so.

Nice system, im building mine with the same sub, did you need a key to take out stock radio and was it difficult gettin ur head unit in, cuz i have a grand am also, and i heard its tricky tryin to install head units in them, i have the (ida-x200) and i was curious about the installation

@Earthquake2009 Depends on what year you have. 99-01 are a bit harder because they are "Single-Din and a Half" where the 02-05 are "Double-Din" and can fit a 7" Indash screen in there very easy.

@fastkartproject I do not think you can run Comp. off the headunit? they have X-overs, and I have 2 sets of them and they need an amp to power them correctly and perform the X-overs....? That is why they are running off my amp, and I do not want 5 subs, just too much for me man, would be nice though :)

Nice setup... still debating between the type x refs and the Infinity Kappa perfects for 6.5" componets...was worried the X wouldn't be as bright on the highs.. but your system sounds nice and balanced...I think I debated with you once before, but I think we're both car audio nuts, and it comes down to opinion in many respects

Well, I did have a 6x9 speaker(s) in there. Put the Component right beside the speakers, simple dude, I could have put it anywhere a wanted to Really. It also still left me tons of room to mount the crossover as well.
