don't know whether I am stating the obvious, but isn't drinking other people's saliva dangerous? They might have hepatitis or some other virus that could be transmitted. I mean for their culture its alright because it's tradition, but putting yourself through it as a foreigner for the cameras is a bit reckless in my opinion, unless they took prerequisite measures to avert such a situation.

@lendmeurears Well when you are there you need to follow their traditions so you sort of fit in, or else your trip will be a bad experience. Thats kind of things you need to be aware of before you start your journey. Maybe she has had some kind of preventive medicine with her, I know for sure i would. Anyway its not that kind of adventure i wanna experience in my life.

Where was this? How did you get to go there? Well I traveled to remote areas in South America and spent time with the locals and it was great. What I learned there was people are the same everywhere they have the same basic human problems. I did not spend a month in the same village though at most maybe 5 days. I have been in people's homes and also ate where the locals ate. It can be done with a travel guide and knowledge of the language.
