Thanks for uploading this! This is definitely my favourite arrangement of the song. I've overbudded Queen's original vocals onto this for an altogether... different listening experience. I'll post it as a video response.
classical instruments AND queen... prayers answered! proves Freddy's greatness~ *salutes* was having goosebumps the whole time i was listening to this~ AMAZING!
i love it how on pretty much every video on youtube people are talking about stuff completely unrelated to the video such as this one about aids. I love this song. RIP Freddie
It's a nice piece. Always enjoyed it somewhat. That being said, it's also propably the most overrated song of all time. In the end it's just a goofy song about a boy who killed somebody and is now scared shitless. *preparing to get flamed the hell out from Queen fanboys ;)
@KvalnirFox well the lyrics are about that but i think it still a really creative and unique song. i respect your opinion cuz is honest and you're not being rude and that's cool c:
@KvalnirFox oh? what about 'a horse with no name'? that song is loved by everyone, but has absolutely no deeper meaning at all. the lyrics are honestly MADE UP. but you can find deeper meaning in everything, lol. I'm pretty sure B Rhasphody was made pretty much the same way. there are lots of people who think it is about aids, however.
think what you will. it's still an amazing song. : /
I would have put 2 maybe 3 harps to play the piano part, and at 4:26 a different percussion (maybe some timbals rolling played crescendo at some strategic moments) and keep the whole bass section only to play that part, more or less like the scherzo in Beethoven's Fifth Symphony. Anyway, it's amazing to see how this kind of arrangement put on the spotlights Freddie Mercury's classical roots ; it sometimes seems to have been composed this way
Hear "Bohemian Rhapsody" live with the RPO "Symphonic Rock" concert at the Royal Albert Hall, London on 31st March 2011. Fantastic concert held each year.
it sounds like it was meant to be a classical piece that goes to show you the immense talent of queen. Thanks queen for showing that rock music is capable of many things, thanks for showing rock is the greatest music ever.
I was going to say they WAY underused the trumpets: they FINALLY got the trumpets to come in for excitement after the operatic part, but there were earlier parts where I think they also could have been used to good effect. But overall, very good arrangement.
@TheLittleBoyNextDoor haha yea that kinda surprised me too--i wonder if they had somone already adept at that or if they had to run out and find somone x) great rendition though! very enjoyable
Somewhat beautiful on it's own (although I'm not a fan of the percussion at all), but the absence of Freddie is so noticable; It shows just how important he was to this great music.
@coricom One of the best interpretation? I'm sorry, but didn't u heard the guitarist murder them solos? As they were played I look across my room my Red Special was crying!
This is a prime example of The Emperor's New Clothes fable. In this case, it's rather worthless music to start with. And it's played rather poorly by an otherwise fine symphony orchestra. So call it a "sym-phony" arrangement, a wordplay of the word "phony" in this case. :)

What is so weird was Queen just took this song and added lyrics. There origanally were no lyrics. It is actually quite funny that Queen interpreted the song that way.
@101jir Dude what a hell are you talking about? What king of original with no lyrics??!?! This song is from 1975, it's Mercury's song. Queen performed it originally with lyrics and melody! (see wiki)
Freddie Mercury wrote Bohemian Rhapsody (lyrics and music) - alone. He wrote most of "BoRhap" at his home in Kensington (West London). Most of Queen's songs was written in the studio, but BoRhap was all from Freddie's mind. :)
