  • Great little tip Bob! Thanks so much. I use this all the time!

  • Why is his bassdrum hole so high?

  • lovely.. thanks

  • bob i love all your videos! but can you not put those in hd?720...?..greetings from igor

  • Bob Gatzen is like the Martha Stewart of drums!

  • "how'd you like to get more low end out of your bass drum? who wouldn't right?" well bob there's jazz drummers for one.

  • Flame kit huh? Just wondering, when did you get sponsored by Hot Wheels? Blahahaha

  • INGENIOUS!

  • "More low end...for $0.30" Best. Quote. Ever!

  • need a life

  • @pifa4life Bob Gatzen is an inventor of drum equipment, an educator, and a musician. This is his life.

  • or just buy a mic stand lol

  • More low end for 30 cents :D

  • The Evil Knievel of drumming!

  • New from Evans, the all new Bob Gatzen Series Multi Use Clip!

  • MacGyver rocks

  • I've been to hundreds of shows and I have never seen anyone put the mic in the bass drum like that. Never. It's always on a stand.

  • @overtone83 If you ever mess around with any recording or drum sample libraries, you'll notice there generally always "Kick In" and "Kick Out" mic channels. The "In" is IN the bass drum, and the "Out" is outside, generally on the opposite side as the sound port, just like in this video. The "In" provides more beater attack, while the "Out" provides the low end. IMO it's easiest to EQ the two different mics to boost these qualities to taste, then mix them together til you find your sound

  • @jacosmith86 I can agree with that.

  • Tried it, you're right again! thanks

  • I hate it when people make videos of 'easy methods that work' to promote products... and I love it when they do this! Bob's awesome, anyway. Thanks!

  • Where the hell are people supposed to come up with 30 cents. He thinks we are all millionairs.

  • @jordanjcm well you obviously aren't , seems as if you failed 6th grade English

  • @connieriley You did not start your sentence with a capital letter and It was a sentence fragment and I spelled millionaire wrong. That would be two grade six errors by you and one by me, Geek. I thought you should know since you are a nerd about such things.

  • @jordanjcm Your first sentence was a run-on sentence.

  • @angelafour Nope.

  • Comment removed

  • @jordanjcm No, regardless of your use of the word "and," it was still a run-on sentence. A run-on sentence is a sentence in which more than one complete idea is represented.

  • @angelafour A run-on sentence is a sentence in which two or more independent clauses (i.e., complete sentences) are joined without appropriate punctuation or conjunction.

Example I picked my nose ate it thinking how stupid you might be.

(that is a run on sentance)

  • @jordanjcm Why in the hell are you two talking about English on a drum video? You know your stuff, but this isn't the stuff to portray it.

  • @XxStrongDrums1996xX We Got carried away. Why are you talking about two people talking about English on a drum video ?

  • @jordanjcm I'm not talking about two people talking about English, I was making a response to the situation.

  • @XxStrongDrums1996xX Well this is exactly how it started with us. Now you know why we were not talking about the vid. I would like to. I mean I have learned a lot of great tips from Bob Gatzen.

  • @angelafour A run-on sentence can be as short as four words—for instance: I drive she walks. In this case there are two complete ideas (independent clauses): two subjects paired with two (intransitive) verbs. So as long as clauses are punctuated appropriately, a writer can assemble multiple independent clauses in a single sentence; in fact, a properly constructed sentence can be extended indefinitely.

  • MORE LOW END! NOM NOM NOM!!!

  • wow bob what kit is that? it looks awesome!

  • @allmetaliswelcome its a DW collectors series i believe...if you like them.

  • another great video bob!

  • What I like is when I watch a Gatzen clip and he tells me to do things I figured out for myself. Bob is a great instructor, never condescending. Hard to believe some people are critical of him in comments section.

  • Very expensive.

  • Which one would be a better choice for resonance, a solid head or a head with a port hole?

  • @DeadtreeFilms1 When playing un-miced a solid head will have more sustain and low end.

  • @DeadtreeFilms1 whichever one suits your needs and sounds good to you :)

  • @DeadtreeFilms1 A solid head, absolutely. It's not as difficult to mic as some people would lead you to believe.

  • I <3 BOB GATZEN! :)

  • I wish Bob would come round to my house and tune my kit!

  • man thats awesome would have never thought of it

  • Bob knows and thinks about tuning like no one else!

  • yeah, right...

    if someone could afford it

  • thats sound so beefy and fat, is it possible to do this with a remo powerstroke 3 and what mics do you use bob? (for kickdrum)

  • DAMN, FREAKING DRUM GENIOUS

  • IT CHANGE MY LIFE

  • hey bob,
