Huh. I might have missed it, but I didn't see anyone providing the snooty trivia explanation for it being called "Rub."

"Rub" has an old meaning "erase." Rubber got its name when it was found that it could be used to erase pencil marks. It could also be interpreted as "rub him out," the criminal underworld expression for assassination.

You get the Mystic Key after awaking the elf prince. He gives it to you for his part in the prophecy.

Of course, they know that by now ;) Just killing time is all, and brain cells!

When I was a kid, I was freaked out by the king revealing himself as Astos. I remembered him as Atlas for some reason.

It was freaky. With these pixelated NES games where everything is represented by an icon, your imagination fills in the blanks, and my mind went to work with this game and its moodiness.

On the ps1 version my monk is about level 17 and he can hit over 200. :) I know most monks (blk belts on nes) can do this but its just so cool.

Tents are only a secondary method of saving. The main way to save was to sleep at an Inn.

Oh, HCBailey I just wanted to let you know something about using Houses in the NES version of FF (unless you've already found out by now!) There's yet another bug where if you use a House, your MP isn't restored until after you save, so if you want to not waste a House & keep your recharged MP you'll have to save again with either an Inn, a Tent/Cabin/House. I just thought I should let you know, I know I'm not too far into this LP yet but just in case ...
