this guy rocks. one of the best solo players today. most soulful voice. he damn sure doesnt get the recognition he sincerely deserves. they never play his music on sirius coffeehouse satellite radio but most of the videos i have seen place him in coffeehouses all over the US.

this guy is something fresh and new to the world. this act is what the music world needs. a slide guitar act with soulful and meaningful singing and lyrics.

i think this song is great, as are "gift" and "swing low," but "colorful" almost ruins the whole deal for me.

I used to agree, but hearing it played live makes it a little easier on my ears. It's obvious that the song was put on the first record for some pop appeal, but they're playing it a little differently on this tour (or *were* since it's over now) and I....really like it. Haven't found a good recording of it yet - the intro is the best, just a break-down with the main chords hidden in the background of the music and that lasts a good two minutes before the song gets into full swing.

Ya... I love the few heavy blues songs on the album but there is too much filler pop. If the album was filled with songs like Swing Low and Soul it would be one of my favorites.

@mushroomhands Rocco has said that he wrote it as a way of getting onto the radio so he could have the money he needed to go on tour.
