Donna Reed deserved much better...she should've been brought in as a new character, someone with a mix of honey and fire...
the saddest part is, the clock was already ticking when she came on the show...only months after her final scene aired (and following a nasty legal battle over her getting the boot), she had passed away...
Well done on the Dallas style intro. Perhaps you would like to check out mine. Just look up on youtube "Dallas theme done Windsor style". I even managed to get the Queen to participate. Now you can't beat that.
Season 7 was where Dallas began to lose the plot. Despite what is written Barbara Bel Geddes left Dallas at the end of season 5 to have a heart bypass notice she was missing from season 6's first 14 episodes. On her return she asked why she was paid less money than male leads - for this she was fired. As this was bobby's exit season Donna Reed was brought in for her NAME only she was miscast - did her best in an impossible situation. I admire both Donna & Barbara both worth more than Dallas!!
I think Barbara Bel Geddes was so loved,anyone taking over would have been knocked,I much prefer BBG in the role but think it was all very sad for Donna Reed.

Well put. Reed did a good job with what she was given. But Bel Geddes remains the only true Miss Ellie.

Poor Donna Reed,she was in a no win situation taking over Barbara Bel Geddes,for a short time.
She had a long carrer but to so many she was just the Other Miss Ellie!

Donna Reed was good, but yes I prefered BBG. She seemed like more of a ''motherly'' character. Don't get me wrong, cause Donna Reed WAS good!
