I used to listen to and then watch the Mid Western Hayride while living in western Ohio back in the late '40s and early 50's. I always looked forward to hearing Jerry Byrd's solo performance on the steel guitar, and my favorite song was Steel Guitar Rag. Dale Wagoner plays just as well as Jerry Byrd did. We moved east in the summer of "51, so I lost touch with the Country and Western scene.
Glad everyone like's the way Dale Plays, Steel Guitar Rag, With the Armed service Songs....Dale was in the NAVY.. GOD BLESS OUR SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN.
Dale was a very good friend of mine. He was an excellent steel guitarist and all around great guy. We used to go set up at General Motors in Norwood, Ohio when they had their open houses and we'd jam right our there in the lot. He let me use an extra Evans amp he had there one time to play through.. Those were some great times..all of us who knew and loved him sure do miss him.
Wow! Thank you for posting this..I am a deployed soldier goin to the middle east and I am so glad that people still have a sense of patriotism. Thank You for the post...HOOAH! GO ARMY!
Love to hear this. Brings back memories of better times and places. I believe I heard Mr. Wagner play in the early 70's in the Cincinnati area, The Boulevard in Springdale with Bobby Mackey. Thanks for the music and God Bless Mr. Wagner.
My Husband is in the Service..NAVY..Boy he would love to see this..Iam going to E-mail this to him..I hope it's ok..Thank you so much Mr. Dale Wagner for thinking of our Service Men..God Bless you.
Nice! There's nothing that exudes "Country Music" more than the Pedal Steel Guitar!
