@AllThisIsThat@SufferingFoolsMusic My old studio partners band does Beach Boys covers and deals with the producers and such to get licensing to be able to perform Beach Boys Songs. When he asked them, this was the list he got...
They'll never "do it like they did it before". The Beach Boys will ALWAYS live through the music and through Brian, but as a living working entity it will never be. There are no Beach BoyS without Denny & Carl. They were the heart and soul of that band.
@WhoonieInfamy I love & adore Brian and there's no bigger champion of him or his music than me. He was the brains, for sure. There would have been no Beach Boys without him, but the same can be said for Dennis & Carl. It was Dennis who suggested the surfin' theme & who inspired the early songs. It was Carl who was the backbone & held it all together.
@riv4life618 And when Brian checked out it was Denny & Carl who fought to keep his vision alive & live up to the Beach Boy standard (with their incredible musical contributions) without exploiting their previous accomplishments. AKA if it wasn't for them it would have become the Mike Love cheese fest about 20 years earlier than it did and we would never have heard gems like Forever, Feel Flows, Cuddle Up, Long Promised Road, etc.
@riv4life618 Not to mention the sporadic gold Brian produced thru that period would most likely have never seen the light of day if the Mike faction was in charge (ie "Til I Die, Sail On Sailor, etc). They were a voice for Brian when he had none (esp in the late 70s). I don't disagree with you, Brian deserves way more credit than he gets. He's the greatest. I just don't think it should be at the expense of his brothers' or that their incredible contributions should be ignored like it so often is

My question: who will be in the band? Will Mike agree to let the incredible Wondermints be there? Will Brian agree to appear without them?

@AllThisIsThat Mike has said most of Brian's band will be there along with a couple members of Mike's band.

@riv4life618 Nah, Brian was the heart and soul, but Denny and Carl were the two lungs.
