  • @AndyGC100 Because Abbado got cancer in late 1998 or 1999. His bad health didn't allow him to continue his contract with the Berliners as their chief conductor. He then resigned in 2000, and the orchestra elected Rattle as their new chief conductor.

  • Nice to see it here again. It pops in and out of YouTube, It's a funny potpourri, and Berliner Luft shouldn't be played any slower than this. Abbado rules!
