@HolgerHelfert It's called Boudicea! I saw Roy live about 10 years ago and he played this song. He said it was from his new album - still waiting for it!
Apparently another solo album was planned including this and songs like "Lionheart" Whether it ever got recoded or not I not I don't know, but Jeez, I hope to God it sees the light of day sometime!
Its such a shame that theres loads of vidoe footage of others and not of the genius himself be great to see the ads come up with oneday The Very Best & Rest of Roy Wood on DVD A Full compilation parts 1 3 2 4 5 etc etc
@barscushy He's promised a live album with this on it every time I've seen him play over the last 19/20 years, maybe we'll get something from his upcoming stint with Quo.
@Kaywtv We wish! This song was even missed out on the recently-released Music Book double-CD. So I claim to be the only one to have recorded this for posterity! :-) Shame.... :-(
Hermit? He's always at shrovetide football in Ashbourne having a beer!! My hero, saw him in the pub, shook his hand & didnt wash it for a good hour....sad I know but brings back brilliant memories of my childhood.
Fantastic clip! Roy looks and sounds amazing and Jools is skinny with long hair. Who knew he sang so well? This one made my day, a million thanks for posting it...
When was this filmed? Anybody know? I was under the impression he'd got rid of all the girls in the band about 3yrs ago?!! Including myself! Brings back good memories all the same!
It was about 14 years ago on a show called 'Don't Forget Your Toothbrush'. Woody's band was called 'The Roy Wood Big Band' which morfed into 'The Roy Wood Army' a short while later.
First album I ever bought was Roy's "Boulders" and I still think he's one of the finest melody writers in British pop history. A superb talent and a much-loved bloke.
It's still shelved, like his album "Electric Age" and virtually everything else he's done in the last 15 years or so. Rumour of a new album coming soon - but we've heard that before!
Brilliant song, i wish he would have released it. better than the crap today, if that, is, you can call it music.

Kiss Me Goodnight Boadicea, great rock'n'roll number and
a nice tune! Does anybody know what happened to the song "Me and You" that Roy and Jeff (Lynne of course) wrote together in about 1993?

Apart from being a little heavier, he does not look like he has really aged all that much since the 70's. Perhaps his voice is a little deeper.

Depends what he's singing I suppose - he is a master of voices as well as instruments!
