  • I am only 10 and i could make it,,, lol :D

  • im only 14 do you think i could make this? it looks really nice

  • Well, I'm about to find out. If it doesn't work, then i wasted my time even trying. Hope it does.

  • Will leftovers from cutting squares out of printer paper work? Pease tell me.

  • @thelaurinator5000 Thanks, but I asked that question a year ago. I actually figured out how to mesure them ~15 mins after posting that comment. Still thanks, lol.

  • how many do u need to fold?

  • how do you do 2:06?

  • Tired of the same old fb adds ¬.¬

  • having a unnaturally bendy finger a o.15 is not right is it

  • Where do you get this type of paper?

  • May we make it from three colors?

  • i don't understand the "lenght-width ratio 2.5:1"... Maybe it's because my English is not very good, but i don't understand.... means that for every 1 cm in width, length should be 2.5? I understand like this...

  • hey wats the length 1:2.5 ratio doesnt help much

  • cut a peice of printer paper in half to get 1:2.5 ratio

  • @AZor19able actually no, that wouldnt work...

  • Hello!! Can this be used as sort of a lamp??or do you know how to make a origami lamp?? Thanks!!

  • nice vid

  • I finally made it out of A4 minus square leftovers, after 3hours and 30mins, 1H 40mins for the 30 modules, the assembly at first was too fragile, so I ended up gluing the wings together.

  • @Niker335 When you take out a square from an A4 page, the leftover has a 1:2.47 ratio, I wonder if the creator did this out of leftovers :)

  • I looked at the picture and I said to myself I won't give up on this... 15 seconds later I give up.

  • @skaterdude5651 me to

  • I GOT A BALL

  • Thanks! I love this model!

  • nice star

  • No more! No more,please!

  • cant do this without glue:/

  • to get 1:2.5 rectangles you've got to cut a A4 paper sheet verticaly, then fold it horizontanly in half, then, fold a half into 2 quarters and then into 2 ...(1/8) (I don't know how to say it properly). then cut one 1/8. The other 7/8 of the papper sheet should be of proportion 1: 2.5 (if you think this helped please keep this comment on the top)

  • you sure know a lot about geometry

  • Lol, again a really nice origami module. I made I think 10 of them in the past. It's really nice decoration to.

  • i dont understande when someone show me the sizes 2.5 : 1 im really bad in math can you just tell the size in cm?

  • @coconoa100 Basically you could have 2.5cm x 1cm or 5cm x 2cm or 10cm x 4cm

  • wat length should it be

  • you know half of an a4 printer sheet is 2.5:1 ratio

  • Lol, In the past i made origami from watching your vids, i think this was my first real kusudama ^^, if i see my origami, i'm immediatly happy, but I stopped once making them :'( lol after my exams I think i'm going to make some again when the school is done :'(, I have more than only this one though my favorites are on 1. Origami medial Rhombic triacontahedron, then my origami icosahedron witch is really easy to make and doesn't take much time and then origami kusudama elctra i think. thanks ^^

  • what is the most easy ball thing to make?

  • can u use printing paper cut into 4 strips?so 8 rectangular....

  • I made it but it is flimsy and some 2 spikes are incomplete but thanks

  • do they have to be exactly that ratio??

  • so many papers

  • do u use inches or cm?

  • @NEGAH1986 i mean which standard do u use?

  • sell it on ebay

  • @TaylorSwiftfan323 30 modules ~5 min each so between 2 and 3 hours I would say ; )

  • @barbabellaatje

pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! what is length - width ratio 2.5:1??? how do i get that??? please pleaseeeeeee

    thankss!!!

  • Is it still true origami if you start with rectangular pieces of paper? I've heard otherwise.

  • such a creature would eat my origami skills for dinner. maybe even breakfast.

  • ur the best making origami how-to videos. kudos and this is awesome???!!! XD

  • you can sell it for $90 is a great idea

  • Are you buying ; )

  • @XSOLIGEN where can you sell it at

  • in your next video, it would be really helpful, if you could put all the materials in the descripton, so following your vid would be easier! :)

  • Umm, how do you cut out a 1 : 2.5 ratio strips? I've had a hard time figuring out...

  • @Niker335 width= 1 : 2,5 height

divide the longest length on your paper by 2,5 for the biggest one you can cut, multiply the short side by 2,5 to get an average one..

or you could pick a random number and multiply that by 2,5

    like 10X25...capiche?

  • @Niker335 cut tha paper in 4 equal parts (there u have 1 : 2) the cut them in half (there is 1 : 2.5)

  • @H1mb33r3 If you cut a square in to 4 rectangles, each would be 1:4. Cutting one of those in half would make it either 1:8 or 1:2.

Anyways, I used the good old ruler and pencil to make those rectangles ;P

  • @Niker335 1 cm to 2.5 cm, 2 cm to 5 cm, 4 cm to 10 cm.

    Derpderpderp

  • @Niker335 fold a square in 8x8 and cut in 2x5

  • @Niker335

well i guess you may take some really large square paper

    cut it into a ratio 2 : 2 : 1

    throw away that 1/5

Pretty stupid to this , but that's the first way i figured out

  • @Niker335 Me too!! i want to know cos i wanna make it!! but we are not getting any answer!! why!!!

  • some many pieces of paper are need in total?

  • 0:15 o_O

  • Thats Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nice song

  • wauw so nice

  • WOW hammer du machst tolle sachen!!!!

    Thanks

  • Awesome! we used this as a star for our christmas tree at my office. It looks great! :)

  • Show us on your channel!! ; )

  • this is much easier than the others..^^

  • you're awesome but I would probably need a valium if I tried to do that.....no patience for that stuff...love to watch someone else do it though.

  • lol da is hier de enigste van jouw die ik kan maken maar ik blijf probere

  • Finaly made it ,but how do u do it without glue? i do it with gleu athorwise it always falls off

  • It is quite hard to assemble without glue but certainly not impossible, it only becomes stable when many of the pieces are in position ;)

  • Man, finally finished putting this thing together. It's such a pain trying to get the later pieces to stay together.

  • how long does it take to make one?

  • 30 rectangles cut to size and folding (few minutes each) piecing it together hmmm. it must have been 2 to 4 hours.. ;)

  • cocÔ

  • u're amazing!!!! that's so incredible! :D congratilations!!!

  • what´s the name of the music it is very good and nice vidio:)

  • Don't remember the title it is from the pacdv site - just google ;)

  • so what is the actual size of the paper?

  • Don'remember but made it from printer paper so about 21 cm - 8 inch or so in length ;)

  • r u sure because i dont want it to be off

  • The size does not matter the length-width ratio is what counts ;)

  • no i mean the most effecient way from 8 1/2 x 11 in. pieces sorry i wasnt clear enough

  • 101/100 ;)

  • thanks for this!!!!!

  • This is really awesome, I'm a big fan of your origami videos ^_____^ Thank you for the upload! xD

  • how do i get the paper to a 2.5 to 1 ratio? i tried google and i am to lazy to figure it out :D

  • are you serious?

    what he means is like..

if one side is 1 cm... the adjacent side must be 2.5cm.

or lets say one side is 2 cm... the adjacent side must be 5 cm. Q.Q

  • I think it's like dividing and cutting a square paper into three papers.

  • lol...

  • haha ty for vid now i can make my friend a bday gift

  • Whew been a long time since I did any origami! SO much work at school....

BUT I finally got to do this model. It's awesome and surprisingly stable. the bounciness of the model seems to keep it in tact.

    Thanks :D

  • Yep, the big one I made for the vid keeps falling to the ground, but the modules always stay attached to my surprise as they appear quite flimsy ... My intersecting prisms are still at <10% summer laziness setting in :D

  • pianoman73? He does origami? The only person on here I found with that name, doesn't have any ori videos? Could someone please post a link for me? Thanks much, Sass

Thanks so much to barbabellaatje for all the wonderful videos, and you're great website!!!

  • Look on the left... 1st one under "related vids" o_O

  • its pianoman073

  • how do u get 2.5 to 1 ratio paper? do u actually have to measure it out?

  • There are way to fold in 5th w/o ruler, but I use a ruler ;)

  • I fold in to thirds, then I make a small square from the bottom and cut the bottom square in half along the whole paper.

  • what's the toothpick for?

  • For this mega size not really necessary, when you make it 70% smaller I use it to open the folds ;)

  • muy bueno

  • that is awesome. 5/5!

  • kool 5/5 =D

  • nice model :)

the high quality option hasn't been removed it has been transfered right next to the sound option (its where it says"HQ")

  • yep, I noticed when I used another PC need to change settings

  • OMG ty! I saw this on Daniel's Flickr page and wanted the diagrams for it, couldn't find them though and I was still buisy (and still am) with the 10 intersecting triangular prisms.

I definitely have to give this a shot! Thank you and thanks to pianoman73!!!

  • shit, thats sick. 5 stars ;)

  • Yep I was trying to obtain the diagram ever since I saw it .... and was amazed how these simple modules create this illusion that the spikes of this star are not attached to their neighbours!! :D

  • 2.5 1?

    is that in inche

    or

  • Could be inches would make a small one though, so better use a little bigger e.g. 16 x 6.4 cm

  • how can u get 6.4

  • There are several tricks just google or use a rule like I did ;)

  • i learnt it from his vid too
