  • how many matches did McEnro NOT recieved a warning?

  • Of course winning is more important than being sportsmanlike.

  • Ref 1: "You're reffing the next match."

    Ref 2: "which one's that?"

    1: "Lemme see...Lendl - McEnroe"

    2: "............"

35 and a half minutes later this happens.

  • bull shit!that a fxxking ball down there!!!

  • go to 1:00!

  • John McEnroe needs a bloody kick in the ass. Period.

He is still a hot head.

  • classic

  • McEnroe was hilarious but I think I read somewhere that the antics were a put-on, mostly. Just designed to put the other guy off.

  • What about Connors and Nastase behavior on the court. There is no excuse for McEnroe's behavior, but he had some competition in the bad boy behavior.

  • LEGEND

  • so glad they dont play in those pants anymore...

  • Looked in. McEnroe wanted an excuse to get mad at the umpire since he was already pissed. Moronic.

  • he has wasted his life and money....

god knows how many rackets he has

    broken!!!!

  • john said it was OUT, umpire said NO, john was like fuck you get you ass down here, hahaha

  • OMG, He cannot be SERIOUS!

  • seeing this show how important the challenge system is nowadays

  • Discust is very evident lol

  • That's what I call passion

  • @silentchaos1 hell yeah! maybe people don't realize this was a big part of why he was so incredibly good. he took this shit very seriously, a tennis match is like life or death to johnny mac hahaha...

  • Bull shit!what a Fxxking ball down!!!hahaha!!!

  • The fact is no one could do the down the line like Ivan Lendl. Thats what its all really about.

  • john mcenroe is the fucking man!

  • Serena's outburst in 2009 USO was, by far, definitely not as bad as some of McEnroe's outbursts. First, this was rare for Serena; with McEnroe, he did this all the time in every tournament.

  • Imagine if McEnroe was right in every one of his outbursts, and the umpires made bum calls just to piss him off.

  • Is that Marry Carillo commentating? She's been around for a long time.

  • @Rafathaman94

I dont watch much tennis anymore, but yeah, thats her. I am surprised to hear she is still around. Back in the 80s if she was commentating you knew it was going to be full of crap. Me and my dad had a running joke that whomever she had as favourite would lose (which was true almost always).

I hope she got better, because she was a disaster back then.

  • lol J Mac was always entertaining.

  • WOW tennis players to day don't have the balls to walk up and say repeatedly you full of shit..

  • @trounbyfire Roddick can be a prick now and again. Always the Americans lol

  • he reminds me of will ferrell

  • Mac wasn't even going to get to that ball anyway.

  • Lol microsoft sam announcing the scores.

  • Wow, Ivan Lendl. That kind of takes me back. McEnroe still fucking rocks to this day.

  • i bet the refs hate it when they have to ref McEnroe lol

  • @kenisinoregon Organizer: Okay Gentlemen, today we'll be having a charity tennis event and you will be reffing. Johnny, you get Serena Williams and Tom Cruise. Dave, you are with Katie Holmes and Venus Williams. Jerry, you'll be with John McEnroe and--

    Jerry: SON OF A BITCH!

  • @kenisinoregon Yeah, back in the 80s they probably had to draw straws before an upcoming match.

  • Ian Botham of Tennis..!!

  • This guy has a behavioral problem, and its nothing related to his passion towards the game

  • I wish Mac's ...hawkeye for the christmas !!!

  • that mf, who else but that freaking macenro, [shut the f-up I know it's misspelled ] to tell it like is. Yea, just like that, he spoke up! You can't be serious? Answer the question.

  • BULLSHIT!

  • He should have been a boxer with an attitude like that. Besides, he looks a bit like Sugar Ray Lenard.

  • poor john, played b4 instant replay, no wait, we all are thankful for that ;-)

  • Very Funny i love it!

  • McEnroe: "You're so full of shit it smells."

  • mcenroe the greatest of all time!

  • @franco212 greatest serve and volleyer of all time

  • @franco212 Just no!

  • @franco212 yea greatest of shtheads

  • @franco212 the greatest asshole of all times!

  • Whats the lesbians name doing the commentary on this game again?

  • Bd2380 when your born you are pink when your sick you are green when your cold you are blue and when your dead you are grey so I don't think you can use the word colour to describe black people . And stop talking shit you racist to bad you got a black presidant now lol . America is one of the most racist countrys on the planet . Besides the history of White Europeans isn't good so don't preach if you don't no about history .

  • Wasn't Serena almost suspended but fined thousands of dollars and penalized a match point for doing the same thing but 100 times less than this guy? However this is called genius when a white person does it but when a person of color does it its a perceived threat and all races are in dire danger?? A sport of the elite? More like last refuge for the undercover bigot and racist.

  • if you have a scholarship for just whites thats racist, when its just for color thats oportunity. Affirmative action is obviously racist too. Or when there is a march for people of color, thats just pride. If we do, its racist or the KKK. when people of color jump a white kid just to do it its just a normal crime. If a person of color gets jumped its a hate crime. Its poeple like you that think people are being racist, when in reality people dont like you because your ignorance, not color.

  • I feel bad that you view life that way. Black people were marching for civil rights. The Klan was trying to exterminate a race. You need help. Blacks jumping a White kid rarley happens and when it does it has nothing to do with race. It could be money like in a robbery. Whites jumping Black historically in this country have been on the bases of race. Rodney King getting beat by the police was a hate crime. Affirmative action is for companies who have a history of discriminating.

  • what u just said is a perfect example of the seperation that is always happening in this country. Its not accurate to say that all whites jumping blacks is over race. The same thing has happened often on both sides. How many white people were beat up by blacks during the civil rights movement? it happened on both sides and its ignorant to belive that just because people of color were the most heavily oppressed they were also the least racist towards another group.

  • Blacks were defending themselves and RETALIATING against Whites during the civil rights movement. It is easy to say lets move on whenever you do not feel the effects of oppression. You have no clue what Blacks went through by the hands of Whites. You just show your ignorance. White Supremacy was before the slaves were free and it still is around and the last people you need to blaim is Blacks for how they respond. You blow up a Black church it is ok but blow up the Towers we got to war.

  • you are a total fuckhead haha

  • a church and the World Trade Center isnt exactly on the same scale man..

  • It was not A church it was CHURCHES my friend. I am sure if you add up all the people lynched, bombed, murdered hosed down and beat to death it out ways the world trade center. It is sad when people care more about a buliding than people.

  • there WERE actually people in the building.. but yeah I guess I see what ur saying. Meh, times have changed just chill

  • @Paco801

dude seriously on a tennis video. Fuck off

  • dude...you kinda right....personally i believe ethat there is no such thing as a hate crime because all crimes , to some extent are hate crimes. I dont like how people make a distinction between regular crime and hate crimes cuz it just causes more spereration. personally ppl should stop crying about what has happened and get over it and leave it in the past

  • are you a idiot?? the reason why serena was fined so much now is because of mcenore they won't tolerate that kind of behavior any more

  • McEnroe was praised for what Williams was put down for....Tennis will forever be biased and racist.

  • i dont think racism is the reason

  • meaning Mcenroe was more like the average person. I thought he was awesome. Never big on tennis but few things in all of sports rival a Mcenroe v Connors match.

  • what a twat

  • I was reading that McEnroe often did this just to rattle his opponents and he was fine emotionally. its hard to believe, but it is a brilliant strategy

  • Not really, hes an exception, he is always somewhere between genius and madness,he started to play better and harder when he became angry, he was a great player, but he couldnt control himself, he was the most agresiv attacker and prolly the best volley player of all times.. maybe except Edberg.

He didnt want to rattle, he actually fought against it, but couldnt control his emotions, because his game was all emotion and talent.

He is by far the best double player ive ever seen.

  • I don't know about that - I think McEnroe just easily got mad - mad at the officials, and mad at himself. If he was doing it strategically, he would have not defaulted entire matches due to code violations (e.g. 1991 Australian Open). He usually ended up playing worse after these outbursts. And doing it just to rattle opponents, that would be a very cheap and poor sportsmanlike thing to do. Johnny Mac was a competitor, not someone to take the cheap way out. Viva Johnny Mac!!

  • ok lol it is very sad to actually watch this video and see how he reacts to bad line calls, and to listen to the commentator (mary Carrilo) try to justify or downplay the reason why he is so rude, when these two are the same ones who was very negative about serena williams saying she shouldnt be able to play anymore and champions dont react this way so forth and so on its really sad

so someone please tell me what is wrong with this picture.

  • well mc enroe admitted that he is the last person that should be telling a player to cool down but he acknowledges that he had a terrible court side manner. Serena threatened to inflict violence on the linesman which i think is worse than if she was just yelling and bitching at the umpire. Mcenroe will be the first one to tell you that he understands why players get angry, but i doubt he can find a way to justify it.

  • The difference between what Mcenroe did, and serena is simple. Mcenroe swore, and said the line judge was an idiot. Serena said she could "shove this ball down your throat" She threatened an official and for that deserved a harsher punishment.

  • @Medicalstudent80

Serena threatened to kill a line judge. Literally. That's a little different than yelling at an official about a bad call.

  • @SSky06 REALLY?? like u've never been upset when u told someone 'i'm going to kill you for this' and not actually meant to take that person's life? i mean wtf? when has serena EVER blown up at a line's person or umpire in that way b4? and now we're just gonna ASSUME that yes, she LITERALLY meant it when she said she was going to kill the lineswoman?!? that's just fucking ridiculous.

i guess that's why less than 3 months later espn put her on their cover and named her sports woman of the year.

  • @ghlover2001

Did I ever say she meant it? Nope. Please quote me if I did.

But you can't be blind enough to think that saying "GIVE ME A BREAK" is the same as saying, "I SHOULD KILL YOU."

Both are pathetic displays of sportsmanship, but Serena's is CLEARLYYYYYYYYYYYY worse.

And being named "sportswoman of the year" is retarded. The problem is that besides her, who else is a good enough female athlete to even deserve it? She should win it every year by default based on talent.

  • @SSky06 "Serena's is CLEARLYYYYYYYYYYYY worse"

    LOL.

    Sure.

    Carry on.

  • @ghlover2001

It's not even arguable. They're both at fault, and it's pretty clear that one is worse than the other just based on what they said. But I'm sure you're just a Serena fan so you're blind and have already made up your mind. If you weren't writing what you did originally to try to debate it logically, and just planned on saying "LOL SURE" to any response that you can't refute, than maybe next time reconsider replying to anyone about anything.

  • @SSky06 oh shut up. i gave my response and that's it. all the refuting in the world is not going to change my position on the matter and clearly it won't change yours. so as erroneous as your point may be, somethings are non-debatable. therefore, yes, i stick by my original response.

    LOL

    Sure.

    Carry on.

  • @ghlover2001

    LOL SURE CARRY ON.

  • @SSky06

maaaan i get this a lot. ppl trying to copy me that is. but you know what they say? often imitated, never duplicated...

    in the mean while.

    carry on =)

  • @ghlover2001

Once again, we're not discussing anything because you're retarded...

    LOL SURE CARRY ON.

  • @SSky06 LOL, would you stop it. you're trying so hard to be like me...it's flattering really, but this is ridiculous. also, name calling now?? the last resort of an ignorant person bearing a fruitless argument. makes sense.

    carry on =)

  • @ghlover2001

    LOL SURE CARRY ON

  • @SSky06 why you keep copying me man?? i know i'm awesome but this is ridic!

but on to better news. RAFAEL NADAL WON THE FRENCH OPEN!!!! HELL FUCKING YEAH. my favorite wins again meanwhile ssky06 continues to be an unoriginal dumbass. all is right with the world it seems, LOL

    carry on you :D

  • @ghlover2001

I only copy people who suddenly decide they have nothing more they can say and revert to vein attempts to prove how cool they are instead of just dumbying up.

    CARRY ON YOU :D

  • @SSky06 she did not threaten to kill that woman.

  • @db200508

    You're right, she just said:

"I will shove this ball down your throat."

    Pretty sure that'll kill you.

  • @Medicalstudent80 : You make very good points. It is disgusting how Carillo pretty much defended McEnroe's horrible behavior, yet really attacked Serena viciously for her outburst (which was not as bad as McEnroe's rants, I'll tell you that...).

  • @Medicalstudent80 I think the word is hypocritical.

  • @Medicalstudent80 : Very good point! It's so true. The hypocrisy of Carillo and McEnroe is so maddening. In regards to Serena and that outburst in 2009, that was certainly a one-time thing; not like McEnroe who basically had one or two or three big outbursts every single match he played.

  • @Medicalstudent80 So ofcourse it is a racist thing! Is that what you are trying to say? Because thats just ridiculous.

  • @Medicalstudent80 I'm all for pros like John McEnroe or Serena Williams being able to express themselves freely. Black or white, male or female. I think it's very entertaining. Humble athletes are kind of boring.

  • @jbjindra Actually humble atheletes show good sportsmanship. John McEnroe and Serena show such poor sportsmanship. Sure, you can be frustrated, but you can't yell, cuss or make threats to refs.

  • @wii1245 It's not about humility; it's about winning.

  • @JoeRyan33 So you're saying that winning is more important than being sportmanslike? Sure, you want to win, but you have to learn to keep your emotions in check at all times.

  • @Medicalstudent80 Ah, no. You have the timeline wrong. If McEnroe's moment occurred after his comments (whatever ones you are referring to) about Serena's behavior, it would be hypocritical. But this occurred in the past, and he's allowed to change his mind over the years and realize this type of behavior is not Champion-like.

  • Hypocrite much.

  • My favourite McEnroe blowup! LOVE IT

  • Doubtful behaviour or not. The man is probably the most gifted tennis player ever to be seen.

  • The female commentator is so biased!!! Verbal abuse is wrong!!!! It doesn't matter the gender or color of the skin. There should have been equal compassion and outrage for the unsportsmanlike conduct directed at the empire. He was truly humiliated by the outburst. As a Military Veteran, I feel that behavior was and is unacceptable!!!! I still like you Mr. Mc Enroe. We all have a past!!

  • isn't this entertaining?

  • What a sniveling baby. I only watched McEnroe in order to see him lose. Though very talented he set a horrible example.

  • You cannot be serious!

  • I found myself watching his matches hoping the ump would make a bad call just to watch him come unglued like a 2 yr old. Seriously, a poor attitude overshadows talent.

Usually, I was rooting for the other player.

  • ???

  • thats funny... & mostly true!

    fuck people

  • please crawl in a hole full of other kkk members and die. all of you. and just so you know, you wont be missed. by anybody. ever

  • This is no different than what Serena did...they are making a bigger deal out of this than it should be.

  • Serena has a point by saying people has said worst things

  • Yeah...and they've had points against them for doing it. But they don't say worse things at MATCH POINT. It was stupid of Serena.

  • yea mac should have gotten the boot for that outburst. But look at the Chair umpires glasses! Hes blind as a bat.

  • White bitch ass boys like McEnroe always get over ... He made millions doing commercials about his unsportsmanlike play ... Let's see what Serena gets ... Who is fooling who??? The standards are double and white people speak with forked tongues ... Please let's stop acting like we don'y know 'cause we do.

  • aww nigga please

  • nigga just like the crack between YOUR Mama's ass

  • you be trippin, that shit is whack

  • Yea, its whack to call African Americans- NIGGA! YOU are trippin with that shit!Reading these comments it is clear that folks want to water down the TRUTH so they can stay comfortable & apathetic with the illusion. The expectation is that we should be passive so that whites do NOT have to deal with us and OUR struggles. The "teaching moment" done passed. Own UP to YOUR shit as it stands ppl! STOP rewriting HISTORY. Can we have a REAL conversation? Cause now we just polarized and yelling.

  • ... OR you're actually a comedy routine pretending to be a satire of an African American. Be honest, you're really some bord white guy in his office job right? African Americans don't really talk like you? Please stop pretending to be a black person, it's patronising to African Americans to pretend they talk like illiterates with their fingers stuck on the caps lock.... I wish I was African American so I could get more offended

  • True!!! I love Mc Enroe....but he was such a biiiiig baby. Serena expressed hrself and its a big...way too big a deal!

You go girl shut her up!!!

  • John Mac wasn't called classless, and this was his normal behavior. Serena, has a meltdown once and people call her all sorts of vile names.

    Tsk TSK

  • Jesus how long has Mary Carillo been commentating on tennis matches? She doesn't look that old, but I've heard her voice in matches from the early 80's

  • I just said the same thing before I saw your comment! She must've been a damn teenager !

  • serena?

  • Once Mac left tennis professionally I lost interest watching the game.

  • uh... ONE POINT, john. it's not like lendl won the set or anything.

  • maybe because going to the hawkeye on every hit would be a massive pain in the ass?

  • guys i just have sooo much respect for sir Mc enroe..but just saw the resemblance between him and BEAVIS from beavis and hutthead :P doesnt he look like him:P

  • He's hilarious

  • Grew up watching tennis during the John McEnroe era. Good times!

  • Andy Roddick is more of a man than a whiny baby too though.

  • John was right. The ball was in. The referees would make me angry too.

  • Cussing on cable?! "You cannot be serious!"

  • god bless him

  • You gotta a point.

  • the only reason all those players are considered great is because they were able to win multiple grand slams. If the same players of today also won multiple grand slams u would have considered them better players...its not federer fault he's just dat damn good alright.

PS. McEnroe is frikkin king man....he got balls

  • What a lovely attitude! Mc Enroe rocks!

  • is that mary carillo commentating?

  • My Gosh I don't think she is that old, she is like 45

  • she's 52 she played mixed doubles with john, they won the 1977 french open

  • 52? Wow she looks younger

  • i see short shorts were much more tolerated back then too

  • your so full of shit lol

  • I don't think I would necessarily call him a kid. So what if he shows his emotions? People need to lighten up and realize tennis would be better off with more players who shared his fire.

  • you are right, but to become a champion you need to control your emotions.

  • What a legend,gotta love the Mac.

  • It was out got damn it.

  • Rasabihariji - Does my comment "Specifically" state anything about the rules of the game?

This man is in my books........a kid - instead of taking the heavy blows like a tough cookie he throws a tanty in the same fashion a little child would do it.

As stated above - this man is like a kid and this is based on his past reputation.

I would suggest that you should brush up on your interpretation skills because you've completely lost the meaning behind my comment.

  • Rasabihariji - thought I should have another brief look at my comment and your reply.

Your interpretation skills really do need some brushing up. Did you go to a school and actually learn stuff? Or did you drop out early and change into a loser?

  • yea and you must be year of the raging homo.

  • did u not read? i told u im year of the wild pig, why u saying "i must be" when i told u what i am?

  • John McMad!

  • I love when he slams his racket down the second time. (1:00) That thing was GONE!

  • Thought he was gonna jump up on the chair.

  • *LOL!* I remember one time Johnny Mac totally obliterated an orange juice pitcher @ side court when the umpire blew a call! He brought such passion to the game.

  • i would have thrown the racket at the umpire, just to make it more interesting

  • McEnroe was garbage wrapped in skin. Loathed him as a player; loved Lendl.

  • These two kicked ass, if you combined their sportsmanship together you would end up with 0% sportsmanship

  • Duh it doesn't happen today as the lines are laser sighted for reply, there is nothing to argue about these days or it still would happen.

  • 1) Not all tenniscourts have 'eagle eye' systems.

    2) Those systems are far from perfect.

So I'm sorry, but there's enough to argue about. Code violations are simply given much quicker now than in the past, and they come with much higer fines. Also, good players are more all-round at being professionals both in play and in behaviour nowadays.

  • what you miss is that you cant argue with a computer. Its a fair judge.

  • Euh? Did you not read what I wrote? hdtv00 says there's nothing to argue about, because of a system. But if a system makes mistakes, and if that system isn't even present everywhere on the tour, than that's not an argument, is it?

If it were perfect, and if every court had it, then yes, arguing would be pointless. That's not the case, so there must be another reason why tennis players now don't get so excited as they did in the past.

  • OUT!!

  • Ivan Lendl always was a much better sportsman AND a better tennis player by far.

    By VERY far...

  • He was not a better player, but a decent argument could be made for your second point.

  • You have to love Johnny Mac.

  • This was at the time the Code of Conduct was just being applied for the first times, and very mildly. McEnore was one of the first players to get a default when the Code began to be applied just like it is applied nowadays.

  • Clear on the line.

  • was the ball actually out or not?

  • Who cares...? lol Nowadays we have technology (thank god) but back then it was hard being a ref with McEnroe on the loose... :D

  • McEnroe is HILLARIOUS. I roll on the floor laughing everytime I watch his antics. My personal favorite is his, "you CANNOT be serious!"
