Psychedelic crises are bizarre phenomena that are unique to powerful psychedelic drugs. It's difficult to describe to someone who hasn't been there, but for me, my difficult trips are basically like my mind (my knowledge of my life) being unraveled to its core, leaving only eternal awareness in its place. Scarier than death. Temporarily ending ego.

This is a great video. I absolutely love the fact that this information is out there for people to take in. I have gone through a few "bad trips" myself, and there really is nothing like having somebody there just for the sake of being there. If you haven't had an experience like this then it may be difficult to understand, but when you're all alone in your mind, the physical presence of a living being that you can trust is one of the most comforting things around.

i was really happy to watch this. reminds me of an overwhelming experience i had at cosm on new years. and guess what? the thing that calmed me down was a girl taking me to a safe environment and letting me talk. after that, the experience was one of the most life changing, inspiring experiences i've had to date. the similarities between my freakout and this guy's are uncanny. beautifully portrayed! truly progressive!

Sadly, it's rarely this easy if you're the tripper. If you've ever had a serious panic attack, imagine that multiplied by 100, with each second feeling like minutes or even hours. Also, in a difficult/bad trip, the feeling of sensory overload can become painful, and mimic the subjective effects of severe autism.

The info is true though. You can never talk yourself down, only through. :)

I dont know where you guys get your lsd, but 2 hits(500 mircograms each) of pure lsd is MORE than enough to do that to someone.

You guys must get weak or cut lsd.

500 micrograms is an *extremely* high dose of LSD for a single hit. Even Orange Sunshine contained only ~300ug per hit. US blotters are generally in the range today of 30-50ug, and are often "counterfeit" (i.e. contain another drug like DOI).

It depends on the dosage of each blotter, gel, etc. In the 70's-80's there were 500-1000 mic blotters that would easily take you out of this world.

@dagda16 If two hits won't do that for you, you're probably familiar with relatively weak doses of LSD. 200 mics of white fluff per stamp could take you there on one. Also, that stuff exists now; it's not a relic of the 1960s (not the 80s, other person -- I don't know where you heard that the 80s were a good era for LSD.) The stuff floating around my area right now is 150 mics of what felt like silver per hit. Two hits of that could definitely take you where this guy is. It did for me.

I think it is important to tell the person that they will almost definitely return to normal after the drug wears off. The difficult experience may be caused by a fear that they are going insane. I think it is normal for that thought to a least cross someones mind.
