  • this is the tune that was played in all movie theaters in south india even during the early seventies. but it was the original version from the lp record. the curtains would be raised and the lights slowly dimmed.

    thats all gone for ever as said in an earlier comment.

    btw the next tune in this lp record was

    tequila -- by the champs. this used to be played during the few minutes just after the interval when the movie would start over again.

    the next tune was the theme from shaft. enjoy...

  • Almost in 1960's in Lahore at regal, plaza cinema halls or on crown or taj theater this tune was being played when curtain was raised. the echo of the hall , the dim lights and long silhouettes of the curtains are some thing which are memories dancing in the mystic dreams. Now every thing had gone for ever but the music is still beating with my heart like a rain, wind and voices dieing slowly

This was the music that was played in Plaza ,Palace, Gaiety and Murugan theatres in our (then ) little town. You have used the exact words that I tried to use. Many thanks to the Sir BasildeBrush.

  • Brought back wonderful memories.Way back in sixties there used to be one theater tthat used to show hollywood movies.This tune used to be played for opening of the curtains at the beginning and again at the interval.For some reason non of the radio stations in USA never play this tune.People used to go the theater just to listen to this tune.thaks for uploading
