I love the outdoors and I am a ranch owner. I would love to see wolves stay in the wild, but whether it is this century or the next, the wolves are on their way out of the wild because of Human expansion and eventually there is nothing anyone will be able to do about it, unless an area is fenced in and they will not be able to expand their range. Then you will have inbreeding. There is no reason to argue. Its only a matter of time.

The reason a lot of other animals went extinct in those areas was because humans killed them. The reason the wolves kill livestock is because hunters are killing their natural prey (elk), so they have less to eat and need to find alternative food, which livestock provide. And considering wolves diet's only consist of 4% livestock...

Another thing is that ranchers like to blame wolves for their livestock death. What most likely happened was that the livestock died of natural causes and the wolf eats the carcase, this makes everyone think the wolf killed the livestock even though it didn't.

The problem is that the wolves may see dogs eat livestock and decide that its safe to eat. Also very important, RANCHERS WILL NOT DISPOSE OF DEAD CATTLE. Less than 10 in 100 cow elk now have calves reaching one year of age due to wolf predation. Now the bears are also suffering....no calves to eat....

More grass and shrub growth creasing more brosing for elk and moose. They backed down on that when the moose population plummeted after the introduction of the canadian wolves. They do, some of the only places you can get Anatolian Shepherd pups in Arizona is in rural ranching areas. And I do believe the ranchers exaggerate the livestock killing. Many calf killings are most likely from coyotes.

Live and let live. Wolves do not take more than they need (unlike humans), they travel in packs, and make a kill - usually the weak, sick or injured. They do not go out and target cattle by the dozens.... that is an outright lie. Because most of your livestock is grown on public lands for 1.35 per AUM. A mere fraction of what it would cost on private land and my tax dollars pay for your way of life. It costs taxpayers $350 million a year just to manage the grazing permit system. What is your MA in? Livestock production perhaps???? A carnivore killing an animal is part of the natural world.
