Leone was a genius! Just fom the point where Clint flips his poncho that skips a beat to the little bit of pan flute denoting some bad shit is going to go down in a second. In all his films, yes, the actors were key, but he was the man who knew how to really take it up a notch and create these timeless classics.

a lot of people think that the "you feelin' lucky punk" from Dirty Harry was the best Clint Eastwood part, others think it's the gunspin scene from the Outlaw Josey Wales, but I personally think that this is THE best scene in Clint Eastwood film history. it's just so classic and he totally teaches these guys what a Clint asswhippin' feels like.

i think we can all agree that proper westerns started with the dollars trilogy. the ones before them like the magnificent seven and the searchers, the gunfights were a bit crap even though they are classics. there was no blood aswell.after the dollars, people began to make proper westerns

For the sake of discussion, I don't think so. 'Westerns' were made by people like John Ford, Leone made Spaghetti Westerns, they were shot in Spain, with long discourses about Marxism and Class Struggle. I think Westerns started after WWII, when Ford and co. were making films that didn't really have an agenda, just the continued survival of the American icon. Leone made great films, commercially successful and definitely enjoyable, but I wouldn't call them proper Westerns.
