  • This is Finlandia by Jean Sibelius and while it should be the national anthem of Finland it is not. The national antherm was written by Fredrik Pacius in 1848. But my opinion is that we Finns should change the anthem to this very version of Laboriel. Image a Finn winning the World Rally Champion and then have Laboriel with his bass - WOW!

  • IMPRESIONANTE, SIMPLEMENTE EL MEJOR ABE LABORIEL... EL MEJOR SOLO QUE HE VISTO Y A MUCHO ORGULLO MEXICANO

  • this guy uses loads of treble, but his technique makes his tone smooth. good stuff

  • @BassFever74 what year is it?)

  • Can i get some lessons??XD

  • My Musical inspiration!!!!!!

  • the best bassman in the word.....

  • His technical and conceptual understandings are through the roof.

  • @CommonAmericanIdiot That's some nice casual racism you got going there. Well done son.

  • @tuftynuts uhmmm that explains his username sir... please understand special people...;0)

  • Magnificent. Sounds like a hymn.

  • @marysman1960 it is lol

  • good licks god bless!

  • Is this in EADGC tuning?

  • @x1te nope is GDAMB where G is the thinnest and the thickest B

  • @RJavo Ok I was just wondering about his F#m chord. I think he means to say F#m7 because he's playing F# E A

  • This is Ron Kenoly's Bass player! The guy is amazing! But sooo humble!

  • Bahaha the interviewer is HILARIOUS looking. Flock of Seagulls!

  • Near the end he tells us "It's the HYMN from, SIBELIUS' FINLANDIA!

  • @molinmusic Yes, the national anthem of finland

  • The title should be CAN YOU NAME THIS HYMN? ABE LABORIEL MORE LIGHT, LOVE YOU!!!

  • This was always my favorite hymn and performed by one of my favorite bassists!!!! SWEET! Thanks for posting!!!

  • @molinmusic What's the name of this hymn? i recognise the tune but I cannot get to the name...

  • I like this very much! It is amazing

  • This was from the All Star Bass: Bass as a Solo Instrument "Instructional" DVD. Nice video, but as far as the "instructional" quality of it, it's very disappointing... This guy just sits there and asks all the bassist questions; no real instruction at all. Just a heads up.

  • 1:37-1:45 = badass riff!

  • a great arrangement of finlandia by sibelius, better than the original i think

  • @residentginger =0!!!!!!

acabo de enterarme que es una adaptacion de Sibelius!!!!!! ahora kede doblemente impresionado T-T

  • GOD bless him with talent

  • There is no such thing as a "blessing of talent". Those who play the instrument know that it takes work, practice, sacrifice, and dedication. Some people are born with just the right length of fingers, just the right cognative skills for music, just the right arm length..and some are lucky if they are born with more than one of these physical attributes not withstanding the hours and hours of grueling practice and sacrifice of a social life to attain such skills. THIS ISNT A GIFT! This is work.

  • True, more work than talent. But still, some people are just more gifted musically than compared to others. God blessed different people differently. If someone is not musically talented, he is gifted elsewhere.

  • what you just said is wrong and retarded...

  • I am a musician, and I know what I am saying. A gift is something that is given to you with no work on your behalf. My ability to play slap groove was not some gift I was instantly given, it was something I spent YEARS of my life working on...and if you think thats is wrong, or retarded, then I will have nothing else to do with you.

Shit in one hand and pray in the other and guess which one gets filled first. My money is on the steaming coil.

  • @reverendjeremiah you're right it takes time, dedication, sacrifice, innovation to be a great musician as this fellow. You have to practice and practice to reach a level of proficiency .

  • hola que tal, oye no tienes el video donde

abraham laboriel toca el bajo de 8 cuerdas

    estaría bueno que lo pusieras

  • That is amazing!!!

  • woaw
