blue bell knoll, the whole album is unreal each and every song is perfect ,one after another is like a cascade of music and sounds ,beautiful music ,for me the most complete album ever from begining to end ,my number one.

I first saw the magic that is the Cocteaus in the Glasgow Barrowlands ..( I think Head over Heels had just been released) ...Tears and sniffs ,the whole lot , especially for Sugar Hiccup.

They're done. Too much residual animosity between Robin and Liz, and Liz is apparently chronically disinterested.

At least Robin is still making excellent music on his own, though. _Continental_ was great, old school Robin, and his collaborations with Ulrich Schnauss produced "On my Own" and "Gone Forever," two amazing, melodically rich shoegazer tracks.

Funny, I've heard this song literally hundreds of times, and it never occurred to me how much MBV "Loveless" borrows from it...and this predates "Loveless" by a couple years.

The Cocteau Twins were pioneers of sound. Severely underrated.

themselves got little if no recognition for all their iconic music...!! Its a true crime,

that the band only ever received just one

award in all their career,that being last-

year,after being disbanded nearly 12yrs.

But at least we their fans acknowledged -

their awesome creativity over the years.!!

As you said they are severely underrated!!

This is easilly the most underrated CT track, I don't know why it isn't raved about, it's the greatest most ethereal sound i've come across, its majestic, honestly the best song i've ever heard. Just to add to the lyrics debate, remember the key to shoegazing is that the vocal becomes another instrument

EVEN knowing the cocteau twins I'd say they kicked ass on this one,.. cause if oyu remember and then you forgot and then you hear this again after awhile you get this jolting surprise when all of the music kicks in,.. guess thats why they needed extra people with them when they were touring later on...makes you think how there recording sessions went down....I used to always make up my own words...

A good Friend told me there's a definite overwound cuckoo clock sound running throughout this song, and I've never been able to get that image out of my head. I can picture the bird bursting out of his little door at near light speed, springs and gears and splintered wood flying everywhere...
