Any pointers for perfecting this piece? I would love to play it, but I honestly don't think I'm good enough. I've played Rhythm Song by Paul Smadbeck (got a superior at state) and played the center part of Afta-Stuba, a trio by Mark Ford (superior as well). Do you think with a decent amount of time I'll be able to play Process of Invention? ( I'd like an honest response =] )
I took some of the repeats out for the college recital that I performed in. It took just under 12 minutes to play it that time. However, I would sometimes take up to 14 minutes to play it in the practice room straight thru. And yes, you can play it with a 4.3 octave marimba. I just like the Marimba One's sound when I performed this piece.
This is awesome, I'm playing Deane's "Etude for a quiet hall" for my state solo and ensemble. I'll defiantly have to check this solo out, hes one of my favorite marimba composers.

@mhm014 - I wish everybody would learn this piece! Just start really slow and after awhile the independence will come. Lots of fun to play!
