I met her a few years ago. She came down for a vacation in the Florida Keys I actualy did her hair. She had her daughter with her.and was very nice, I didn't realize that it was her until after she left.. We talked about her being a choreographer in New York. and we talked about music. I told her I wote music and she said that she was into music in the 80s and thinking about getting back into it,.. I still didn't realize who she was..lol but ..again a very nice down to earth person.

Yeah, she released two amazing albums. Mickey is the worst song, and it's not even THAT bad, just really overrated. You can find her music videos on YouTube, I recommend her Devo covers (Be Stiff, You Gotta Problem, and Space Girls), "Nobody", "My Little Red Book", "Shoppin' From A to Z", and "Over My Head".

yea I know I like the I have no problems if it did, love the dance style.

one could say looks soo cute, and flashy with the silvery poms, as well as and a music video of some real dancers that can actually dance, unlike the glorified strippers in most of the music videos of today or on stage performance.

Toni though is a trained dancer and one of the origionators of the hip hop style locking hence the quick hand moves. She has also put many arrangments together.

Oh, the nostalgia! Totally loved this song when it came out, and now find that I still do. Always makes me feel upbeat. Also, was amazed when Toni admitted that the majority of the song is about anal sex. Can see it now, and love it even more for her guts to sing it!

considering that the song was actually written in 1979 by two UK oroducers/writers ( Chinn.Chapman) and was originally recorded by the all male group racey and called "Kitty" , I think that actually blows your theory out of the water ( yup I know you are not alone ) - fact is the song was written of a guy chasing after a girl ( which is why it includes the "i'll take it like a man" reference. Basil changed the title to Mickey as she had a thing for the monkees Micky Dolenz she did not write it.

I named my elderly rescued cat (from the kill shelter Euthanasia list) after Mickey Rourke, and the first time he ever looked me in the eye without fear, and purred non-stop, was when I sang this to him! Well ,Steveman, you partly answered your own question already ~ this was a TV show, so they probably wanted dancers as opposed to cheerleaders. Also, the original girls were a real cheerleading squad and probably had gone to do other things by then.
