  • i never seen this version of rapunzel

  • I always loved these movies as a little girl. :3

  • Cucumbers are big too!

  • Someone did a parody about Fairy tale theater, It might have been snl. Idk? While shelly is introducing the story she gets shot in the head. Lol so everytime I see fairy tale theatere I think of that lol....my bad

  • OMG I remember watching this as a kid. I was sooo scared lol

  • JEFF BRIDGE HAS A HUGE JUNK

  • this story taught me that it is a bad idea to steal from anyone especially from a witch.

because if you do steal you can get caught and you can get into big terrible.

the Rapun taught us about love.

this is a story about love.

    i like this story.

it has a good lesson about what can happen if you become a thief.

  • Whoa, a cucumber? Dang that's so risque for a kid's show!

  • Shelly looks good as a blonde. I loved her in the Shining. It's nice to see her star in this show for once.

  • I freaking LOVE Jeff Bridges!!!!!

  • this used to scare me , omgggg haha!

  • these are cute stories doesnt look dated if it was made ages ago.

  • Oh my God, this scared the crap out of me when I was little! Thank you so much for posting - it brings back so many great memories. :D

  • This one was good but scary.

  • I always liked this story, they did it so good! TV nowadays is so horrible, kids have nothing good to watch anymore! its sad. But THANK GOD we have Youtube so we can watch all of these great shows of the past, when TV was good!

  • ahh what memories

  • This was one of my favs from this show, I killed the tape it was one. That and I can't help but think of this story whenever I see radishes XD

  • OMG me to!!!!

  • The father is Jeff Bridges also!

  • I remember this movie when I was like 4, and when I saw the blue rays coming from the ladies' eyes, the witch, love her, I thought it was toothpaste but scary. Rapunzel is a beautiful story about a girl who was trapped in a tower with long hair intended for the witch only to climb. The witch was more beautiful and mysterious than most because she made lots of sense about not trusting men, and her curse on any who comes in her garden. One man stole a Rapun or radish, so his stolen girl, Rapunzel.

  • wow i have been looking for this for a long time wow childhood memories what good times

  • My favorite FTT episode is The Snow Queen and Sleeping Beauty, But they all are great, and the production value of the shows were great, they really made everything so real, Fairy tales are timeless, AND YOU REALLY NEVER OUTGROW THEM, because you can still relate to them at any age! I am 26 and I will always love fairy tales, This is a wondeful show.

  • i may need reminding

does shelley duvall play almost all female parts in this show?

  • Loved the cucumber part. Little risque for children's programming.

  • I noticed that too lol. He even says it's little :P

  • @authorgirl87 I think thats the best part, kids don't get it, but it makes it more fun for their parents to watch!

  • @authorgirl87 For whatever reason when Razz-Ma-Tazz rereleased the series on VHS they incorporated this scene. The scene is much better without it, it actually cheapens the relationship of Claude and Marie.

  • ...OH MY GOD! I used to watch this ALL the time when I was younger!!! THIS ONE was my FAV!!!!!! Aww....<3

  • i know it reminds me of being a kid again

  • I was always so fascinated by this one. I remembered it for years and years. It is so nice to go back down memory lane :)

  • I was just talking about this at work yesterday. I used to rent FTT from the library all the time! I liked rumpletilskin and Hansel and Gretel but Rapunzel was always my favourite! Thanks for posting this :)

  • OMG. Thank you! My litlle sister and I rented this all the time!

  • omg THE LAST TIME I SAW THIS I WAS LIKE 6 YEARS OLD I RENTED IT FROK A STORE THATS NO LONGER AROUND BUT I AM 18 NOW AND I AM SO EXCITED TO SEE THIS AGAIN

  • I'm 26 & I used 2 luv these when I was little! So happy 2 see these!

  • A cucumber?

  • Rapunzel is played by the Mum from The Shining- how weird! =)

  • Yep Shelley Duvall. She also hosted the show as well as acted in it :)

  • I never noticed what Claude meant by "cucumber" when I watched this as a kid. Now that I notice it its just.....LOL.

  • @youroverlordruler that might be but he's really talking about a unvegitated pickle, it's a joke about her sometimes craving a pickle. God you guys have some dirty minds

  • @life0long0anime Oh, I'm just kidding. :P Cheers. :3

  • @youroverlordruler still a pervert

  • the absolute best

  • For some reason, I like the line "we have no radishes let alone ones with blue leaves".

  • Cucumber? Johnson? Dude! That line really surprised me!

  • i love faerie tale theatre....

  • Childhood memories...I love Faerie Tale Theatre! :)

  • I love these!! I used to watch these all the time as a kid..Now i'm 27 years old & still love them:)

  • I'm 25. When I saw these when I was a kid, I didn't recognize the stars. I never would've guessed that was them.

  • i love these ftt movies! they were the best when i was younger.. & i still love them!

    <333

  • I've noticed that the art design is heavily influenced by Klmt...and one of the producers made "Bram Stoker's Dracula", which also has some references to Klmt...maybe he was a fan?

  • Did he mean what I think he meant when he asked if she wanted a "cucumber?"

  • i think i thought the same thing as you

    hahha

  • Hey, I remember this from when I was little, scared the shit out of me.

I had no idea that was Jeff Bridges and Gena Rowlands. What are they doing in something so small? Now I've seen everything.

  • LOL! Claude's hair is so funny. . .

  • I can't wait to see the new Disney version of Rapunzel in 2010. . . it better be good!!

  • That scene with the witch calling the name must have been very scary for younger children.

  • It sure scared the shit out of me as a kid!

  • Does anyone have Hansel and Gretel? That was my favorite of the FTT episodes!

  • ive seen it on here..just search it and it should come up :) i loved that one too!
