  • @YinYangPeace I can't truly speak for her, but my guess is yes, that's what she meant. But, I think she was trying to translate it more literally, and I guess in Spanish, "marginado" is like an adjective or verb. Maybe she at the time forgot that there's no word as "outcasted" in English. I'm not really sure though. :/

  • When you wrote the word "outcasted", did you mean like, "They're outcasts, the children of God", and "I always find myself as an outcast (or I always find myself, an outcast)"? Just curious. ^^

  • Hey there! So, I know there have been comments about hits already, but I'm a spanish major and thought I'd offer you advice about the "mira a mi pueblo" line. I think it's actually suppose to be "look at my people" because, in the english version, the line is "god help my people", and right after that line it says "confian en ti" which, you're right, is "they trust in you" but, if it were a town, that would not be plural, in spanish, a town itself is singular. It would have been confia en ti

  • ¡La canción me dan ganas de llorar mucho! Es muy hermosa, y que tiene un mónton de emociones. ¿Quién más está de acuerdo?

  • La canción es mucho hermosa en espanol! *-*

Her voice is so full of emotions! Really wonderful song!

  • Thank you so much for this video. I first found this years ago, and I sang it because it was a favorite song of mine and I had to learn a song in a foreign language for voice. Now I'm taking Spanish, and it's slowly starting to make sense because I'm starting to translate it - though I'm not doing half as good a job as you have! It's helping to keep my interest in Spanish alive, which I'm very glad for, and it's of a beautiful song, which is better.

    Thank you so much!

    ~Rayne

  • @VMD1619 OMGEEE I'm mexican/american tooooo!!! X3

  • This is such a beautiful song in any language...Thank you for uploading this! Every time I hear this, I tear up a little.

  • Y yo que pensaba que cada país solo le gustaba su versión, me alegra que tenga una amplia gama de variedad. :)

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song in English and am SO happy that I've found your channel with all these Disney songs in Spanish! Now I don't have to think of random ones and search for them! They're all right here!

  • omg the lyrics "no pido nada se sobrevivir, pero hay muchos otros que no son haci" they have so much emotion! Voy a llorar ><

  • i like this better than the euro-spanish version, her voice is too sweet in that one.

  • Is there a difference between latin spanish and spanish? And if there is, is it a big difference?

I'm stuck with having to learn spanish in school and I really can't get much out of the classes I have. I learn by watching and listening, not by learning a few phrases.... I'm also looking for good spanish movies if anyone has any suggestions. I really enjoy fantasy and adventure, lol.

  • @iKartini its like britiish and american english .... the difference its on the pronunciation (excuse my english I m a non native sepaker , and I am learning :S >.<) ... mmmm a good movie? ... fantasy and adventure , I am not a pro in this topic , so as for me a good one its el laberinto del fauno ... this is in euro-spanish .

  • @okarenhelena Oh, thanks for the answer! And I've actually seen Pan's Labyrinth. It's fantastic!

Perhaps you have other suggestions of movies that are not in the adventure and fantasy category? As long as it's a good movie I'll watch it so I can learn spanish :)

  • @iKartini Well, here in south America, to us all who speak spanish, there is one countr who dubs our movies (well most of them) and that's Mexico, the reason they chose mexican/latin spanish is because it's the most neutro spanish accent. Every Spanish accent is completely different from the other, but the spanish that they speak in Spain it as a very strong accent wich most of us don't really like because it's comepletely different.

Every Disney Movie with latin spanish dub is just Gorgeus ;)

  • @iKartini

Almost all US movies are dub either by mexico or spain, you just have to look, so are most big series. Pick something you like and look for the dub. For movies in spanish i recomed "Niñas mal" (comedy), "Regresa"(love) and "El estudiante"(a must see), or buy a soap-opera

  • @elarhy Thing is that I hate watching dubbed movies. Animated movies works, but others just annoy the hell out of me. But I will definitely look up the Spanish movies you mentioned! Thanks!

  • This is every bit as good as the English version and a brilliant translation. By the way, there's nothing wrong with saying "outcasted." It's not actually a word, but, hey, Shakespeare made frequent use of preparalepsis/paragoge (rhetorical device by which one adds one or more syllables to the end of a word), so why not do it yourself? I use "algebratize" as a verb meaning "to do algebra homework."

  • When you say "Salva a mi pueblo" she is not referring to Paris but to the Gypsies.

  • @VMD1619 =) And this movie was dubbing in Mexico

  • about your edit: Outcasted is slang so is commonly accepted as correct. Seeing how this is a song and songs don't always use proper grammar outcasted can be correct in this sense.

  • Esta canción está tan hermosa. Me encanta. <3

  • k hermoso ! me hace llorar ! amo esta pelicula y todas las de disney ! amo mi idoma ! ( aunk en los demas no estan mal ) y esto es genial ! i love my language ! this makes me cry ! its so beautiful !

  • You could replace "outcasted" with subsidiary. It would mean the same thing, only subsidiary is a real word.

  • lol en español es mas bonita

  • yay, i love my native language : )

thanks for putting it up and giving your effort in it!

  • How pretty!

  • I think the wording's a little better in English, but the Spanish is much more beautiful.

  • I love the Spanish language(no matter wheater Latin or European Spanish)and I also love this song.

  • como me encanta esa pelicula, y esa historia

  • "children", is better "sons", "they're outcast sons of god", esa es mejor traduccion, supongo :D

  • Comment removed

  • i thought that "ruegan" meant to plead/beg. and to "implorar" means to plead/beg also. im just throwing it out there.

    bbut good job!!

  • they mean almost the same..... "implorar" is just a stronger plead.......

  • ¿Era Thalia quien cantó esta canción?

Qué canción más preciosa. Íso un buen trabajo.

  • por supuesto que no fue Thalia, sino mas bien Fernando Meade, integrante de el ya desintegrado grupo Pandora, buen grupo por cierto

  • Que dijo?

  • que cancion mas hermosa de verdad!!

amo esta version, es bellisima la voz de Esmeralda y el mensaje; de verdad...gran cancion!! xD

  • Better than the English version :D

  • hermosa!! me encanta esta cancion!! te felicito!!

  • Good job translating ♥ I love this song ♥

  • When she says "mi pueblo" she means "my people" that is the correct translation. There are other minor grammar mistakes in your translation but good job overall.

  • just to clarify, in English, the meaning "town" can have the same meaning as "people". I use the terms interchangeably in cases such as these anyways, so I don´t see the problem with "town". "people" is implied. There are two grammar mistakes I am aware of: "it´s" should be "its" and "outcasted" should be "outcast". I posted those mistakes in the description a while ago. If there are others I apologize, I do my best with these! :/

  • In this case "town" is related to the place....which would be Paris.....but "people" is related to her nationality or her race.....which would be the gypsies.......that is the reason why "my people" is the correct translation........

  • My favourite language version :) Definitely!

  • hey nice work translating ;)

  • hermosa hermosa cancion

  • Me alegra haber encontrado esto en español, me recuerda mucho mi infancia. Es tan hermosa la canción.

    Buena traducción, también =)

  • mmm maybe I'm wrong, but I think that when she says "my pueblo" she isn't talking about Paris, that she means "the gyipsys" (is it correct to say "gypsys"? :S)but I'm not sure about the actual meaning of FOLK, so maybe you are right... OK,spanish and english are different languages, so we sometimes have diferent words and diferent meanings

  • It would be "gypsies", but I could understand what you meant! :) Hmmm maybe you are right then! I'm not sure :P

  • Only one thing: I think "pueblo" doesn't mean "city" but "folk", in this case

  • Thank you! I actually think it would be "city" because in this case it sort of implies the meaning of "folk", though you could be right :)

  • this song is so sad, I love the movie, the story is beautiful... I read the book and it is too tragic!!

Congratulations, Sarabi, I watched your other translations of Disney songs, you do a great work!

  • Thanks for the subs/trans! Plan on making L.A

Spanish my next project after I'm further alo-

ng in French and Japanese. I'm surprised Disn

ey never did Les Miserables since they did th-

is one. The Nippon Anime was awesome but I wo-

uld have liked to see how Disney would have d

one it too. They don't make many of these mov

    ies since everything went 3D.

  • Very nice! I believe you have done a good work translating the song and adding the subs.

Muy bien! Creo que haz hecho un buen trabajo traduciendo la canción y añadiendo los subtítulos.
