@YinYangPeace I can't truly speak for her, but my guess is yes, that's what she meant. But, I think she was trying to translate it more literally, and I guess in Spanish, "marginado" is like an adjective or verb. Maybe she at the time forgot that there's no word as "outcasted" in English. I'm not really sure though. :/
When you wrote the word "outcasted", did you mean like, "They're outcasts, the children of God", and "I always find myself as an outcast (or I always find myself, an outcast)"? Just curious. ^^
Hey there! So, I know there have been comments about hits already, but I'm a spanish major and thought I'd offer you advice about the "mira a mi pueblo" line. I think it's actually suppose to be "look at my people" because, in the english version, the line is "god help my people", and right after that line it says "confian en ti" which, you're right, is "they trust in you" but, if it were a town, that would not be plural, in spanish, a town itself is singular. It would have been confia en ti
Thank you so much for this video. I first found this years ago, and I sang it because it was a favorite song of mine and I had to learn a song in a foreign language for voice. Now I'm taking Spanish, and it's slowly starting to make sense because I'm starting to translate it - though I'm not doing half as good a job as you have! It's helping to keep my interest in Spanish alive, which I'm very glad for, and it's of a beautiful song, which is better.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song in English and am SO happy that I've found your channel with all these Disney songs in Spanish! Now I don't have to think of random ones and search for them! They're all right here!

Es una Hermosa cancion eso es lo que le hacen falta a las peliculas animadas de ahora una cancion bonita que con el paso del tiempo se convierten en canciones de recuerdos
Is there a difference between latin spanish and spanish? And if there is, is it a big difference?
I'm stuck with having to learn spanish in school and I really can't get much out of the classes I have. I learn by watching and listening, not by learning a few phrases.... I'm also looking for good spanish movies if anyone has any suggestions. I really enjoy fantasy and adventure, lol.
@iKartini its like britiish and american english .... the difference its on the pronunciation (excuse my english I m a non native sepaker , and I am learning :S >.<) ... mmmm a good movie? ... fantasy and adventure , I am not a pro in this topic , so as for me a good one its el laberinto del fauno ... this is in euro-spanish .
@okarenhelena Oh, thanks for the answer! And I've actually seen Pan's Labyrinth. It's fantastic!
Perhaps you have other suggestions of movies that are not in the adventure and fantasy category? As long as it's a good movie I'll watch it so I can learn spanish :)
@iKartini Well, here in south America, to us all who speak spanish, there is one countr who dubs our movies (well most of them) and that's Mexico, the reason they chose mexican/latin spanish is because it's the most neutro spanish accent. Every Spanish accent is completely different from the other, but the spanish that they speak in Spain it as a very strong accent wich most of us don't really like because it's comepletely different.
Every Disney Movie with latin spanish dub is just Gorgeus ;)
Almost all US movies are dub either by mexico or spain, you just have to look, so are most big series. Pick something you like and look for the dub. For movies in spanish i recomed "Niñas mal" (comedy), "Regresa"(love) and "El estudiante"(a must see), or buy a soap-opera
@elarhy Thing is that I hate watching dubbed movies. Animated movies works, but others just annoy the hell out of me. But I will definitely look up the Spanish movies you mentioned! Thanks!
This is every bit as good as the English version and a brilliant translation. By the way, there's nothing wrong with saying "outcasted." It's not actually a word, but, hey, Shakespeare made frequent use of preparalepsis/paragoge (rhetorical device by which one adds one or more syllables to the end of a word), so why not do it yourself? I use "algebratize" as a verb meaning "to do algebra homework."
about your edit: Outcasted is slang so is commonly accepted as correct. Seeing how this is a song and songs don't always use proper grammar outcasted can be correct in this sense.
k hermoso ! me hace llorar ! amo esta pelicula y todas las de disney ! amo mi idoma ! ( aunk en los demas no estan mal ) y esto es genial ! i love my language ! this makes me cry ! its so beautiful !
When she says "mi pueblo" she means "my people" that is the correct translation. There are other minor grammar mistakes in your translation but good job overall.
just to clarify, in English, the meaning "town" can have the same meaning as "people". I use the terms interchangeably in cases such as these anyways, so I don´t see the problem with "town". "people" is implied. There are two grammar mistakes I am aware of: "it´s" should be "its" and "outcasted" should be "outcast". I posted those mistakes in the description a while ago. If there are others I apologize, I do my best with these! :/
In this case "town" is related to the place....which would be Paris.....but "people" is related to her nationality or her race.....which would be the gypsies.......that is the reason why "my people" is the correct translation........
mmm maybe I'm wrong, but I think that when she says "my pueblo" she isn't talking about Paris, that she means "the gyipsys" (is it correct to say "gypsys"? :S)but I'm not sure about the actual meaning of FOLK, so maybe you are right... You could replace "outcasted" with subsidiary. It would mean the same thing, only subsidiary is a real word.
