Hate to see someone get hurt but seriously... where were your helmets and 5 point harnesses? and anyone wheeling trails like this should already know you keep your limbs inside the truck in a flop... NEVER grab the cage
Poor Heather :(, this is a seriously unfortunate event that occurred because of this 20 some odd group of people who didnt spot her, none of them are first trained, no first aid kit, and everyone panicked! Jeez you guys just about broke every rule to emergency situations, ever. I hope you get use of your hand back girl :(. I hope the rest of you prepare properly for moab next time.
I hope Heather is healing well but can someone tell me why you didnt secure the buggy first also why the hell you dont have safety net on that window what she did is a reflex action that most people have, not her fault at all. just get back at it girl once you have made a full recovery good luck and yes I off road. I have two rigs.
@65bigone Actually 65bigbone what she did with her hand is her own fault. She hand the steering wheel to hold on to and if she and "most people" first reaction is to put there hand, arm, leg, ect. in a situation were it could be crushed or ripped off then maybe they should really think about practicing what and were to grab onto in the rig to give them some musle memory so when a accident happens there first reaction will be to grab on to somewere safe and not the F-ing OUTSIDE OF THE RIG.
heather you did good. fuck the guys. someone should have spotted you. them damn guys should have spotted you. damn. i hope you made a full recovery. and i hope you got back into that buggy and tried that again. with spotters and shit.
1. Simple 5 minute prepping/training on how to go up would have made her informed on how to drive up and stopped her from placing her arm out the buggy
2. THE LOOK OUTS!!!! There should have been lookouts to help direct the buggy and up close to tell her to back down when she started going up
3. Proper medical training from someone on the trail would have been wised, not totally necessary but when you have the potential for flipping over cars, it would have been smart
Here's what you don't do. You don't take a little baby down by a hurt person or a half rolled over buggy in a ravine. Come on people. I have two little girls and as a parent you keep them safe priority number 1
LOL at the "tourniquet".Must be a former junkie, but a shirt makes a much better tourniquet than a belt. I just laugh at these people on scenes, I guess its the effort that counts, but in this case, it could have proved fatal. I have personally applied multiple tourniquets to pts and if you actually study up of it, only a few have amputations afterward, most would have lost their limb regardless. Secondly, unless she was under the buggy, don't move it, you are risking hurting more people.
The comment above from jonscreem was one of the best comments on this. I guess some of the rest are perfect and have never done anything wrong in their lives, never made any mistakes. This is as bad as people that are there and point fingers for no more reason than it justifies their doing nothing.
People should read their comments a few times before they post them. I don't know who Heather is but I say keep Wheelin' Heather... And I hope you get the feeling and use of your hand back!
Man I bet half of you morons dogging this situation are idiots yourself. Its always easy to criticize from a distance. Obviously mistakes were made or it would not have happened. The guy that called her a drama queen is an idiot as well.
The tourniquette is almost laughable but at least that guy was concerned enough to try to help and calling 911 was the right thing to do, by far not the worst. Drivingng to drive her out of there from that spot would have been the stupid thing.
wow she got her arm crushed. Good money for the doctors. Please post the medical bill. I bet it was 60 thousand dollars or more. Am I close? Hope she gets better , I did not realise she was hurt. Kinda sucks. She took it really well. I would have been balling. And all my friends would be laughing and leave me.
First mistake was letting your girlfriend drive. But it looks like you got enough money to be stupid. She did everything wrong that you could do. Keep your pussy off the trails!
Wont be long unitll the trail is closed..Emergency services dont take too kindly to self inflicted accidents ..Not doing anyone down here just makin an observation
takes time to ensure that all parties work together. As for all the degrade and bagging well that just comes with Youtube and the audience. This forum produces a lot of uneducated, unintelligent, and childish belittlement, but that cool. The gal injured is doing well. She will recover fine and is doing great. She's somewhat back in the saddle and kicking butt in the process, as for the dumb-bells with their retard remarks, maybe we will see you on the trail. We will help you too if needed.
First Aid Check. Satellite Communication and Smoke to mark the Helo landing in a high wind and cross platform landing check. Corpman and medical party calling the shots on treatment and making the "belt Bleeder" remove his belt check. Pulse, bleeding and most import shock being addressed check. GPS verified in 2 circuits check. Recovery and extraction check. Mistakes take place, we were ready. We did the best we could provided several parties not understanding and panic on directions.
@gravesfiend138 I wouldn't exactly call myself a drama queen. I not only broke a bone; but I crushed my wrist, broke, fractured, or dislocated most of the bones in my hand & fingers. The rollover de-gloved my hand (tore all the skin off) and I have lost all my tendons. I have spent more than 5 weeks in the hospital & have had 9 surgeries. To date, I still have no use of my left hand. But, I'm glad to hear that you were such a man about your broken bone. I hope they set it & it healed correctl
@hcowan1122 Hope you are making a full recovery. Mistakes happen and you don't learn unless you try. Most the people dogging the video are posers and armchair quarterbacks who couldn't drive themselves to the GAP in the mall parking lot.
Some people are such drama queens... Broken bones, if it was even broken don't hurt that bad. I broke my foot, set it myself and never got a cast... It healed just fine... I my arm 70 miles out on a trail run and drove my self to the hospital. I have never seen anybody wimp out like that over a broken bone.
what do you expect from a lady or a girl driver, full of stupid driving, they deserve this situation, now call 911 after doing crazy stupid things, they have roll cage but no protective netting, so what do you again expect, 2 people with no commonsense and can only yell as a dog
@ImGodUFUCK If you didn't notice...the girl driving the buggy that rolled put her hand out and it got crushed between it and the rock. That's why everyone's panicking...
if you listen really good, you can hear the bone crack! This is part of what can happen in our sport, dont give up girl, try it again as soon as you can!
@05Flatline Yup another roll over CAUSED by rear steer. I have not ssen too many people use it to their advantage. It almost always gets them into trouble.
Hillbilly tourniquet with your belt?? Are you fucking kidding me?? BTW- Where was your first aid kit? Who in the hell trained you in first aid that your first move should be to take your belt off and wrap it around her arm? Good response in getting her out, but I highly suggest at least one person in that group go to a basic first aid/ CPR course at the Red Cross...
@surfdogdude yah, didn't quite see enough blood for that one. He watched to many war movies. I bet he has a shot of morphine in his back pocket. but nice roll over and hope she recovered well, despite the tourniquite.
1 someone should have spotted her. 2. passenger should have stopped her. 3. A tourniquet ? really? no apply pressure, immobilize. 4. be prepared.5. Its okay heather good try.come again.
Pathetic. For the money spent on that buggy you should have been able to walk up that. Keep her in the kitchen. I've seen road legal trucks climb this with little effort pathetic lol
call 911 for just a small rollover -_-

To all watching:
Please do not apply a tourniquet for a wound that is not gushing out blood and can be controlled with strong pressure.
You could cause the person to lose the affected limb!
Over 90% of all bleeds (even very severe ones) can be controlled with brisk pressure.
