Metallica and U2 are both great fucking bands and that`s about it. While i`m more of a Metallica fan and metal as a genre i still love to hear bands like U2 or Red Hot Chilli Peppers, they sound diffrent but they all make great music. So stop your arguments about who`s better and all that shit and just enjoy a good piece of pretty fucking awsome music. Cheers!

U2 and Metallica are my favorite bands. I love them both and it was awesome to see them play the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concert. Let alone be the headliners at the show. A dream come true.

I don't care what anybody says, there are no other bands right now that can sell new albums and sellout arenas/stadiums like these two bands. They are true legends of rock and roll and the epitome of greatness and iconic statue that these new bands can only dream of.

If u think U2 is overrated I have no doubt whatsoever that 1) u probably don't care much about important socio-political themes the way U2 fans do, & 2) u'r almost certainly only listening 2 the beats, loudness, roughness, & particular types of tunes u'r used 2 that u like- & u either do not or cannot appreciate th subtle intricacy & UNIQUENESS of U2's instrumentation etc. No 1 like them b4 or since.

It's all a matter of opinion. I liked Death Magnetic, and I also like some of U2's stuff. The only thing I fear is that while (most) Metallica fans would sit happily and listen to U2, a lot of U2 fans will think "Oh my, Heavy Metal?" and really ruin the atmosphere. Its well known that heavy metal fans have a wider scope of music taste than pop/soft rock fans.

I do. Many of my friends and certain members of my family are U2 fans. Their first words after I told them about the concert were along the lines of "Heavy metal is just noise".

I'm into heavy stuff, but I also like Michael Buble, David Gray, Mika, and the newer Take That stuff.

@VermilionUK As a huge U2 fan, I can tell u those friends & family don't speak for all of us. Just like Any kind of music in any genre, it all ranges from good to not-so-good to bad. Every kind of music has bands that aren't so great, some that are okay, some good & some excellent. And even particular bands that can make some totally excellent songs can also make forgettable songs. SOME heavy metal is just noise- (but then so is some of ALL other kinds of music)- & some is excellent artwork.

@neilb1983 I find it funny that that's the only thing people can say bad about Metallica. 1 BAD ALBUM! The first 5 are classic no one can nitpick at those, and have you read the lyrics to Load and ReLoad? Some pretty serious shit right there. St.Anger was DECENT and it wasn't even that bad it's so underrated. Every band has at least 1 bad album and unlike other bands who throw out shit until they brake up Metallica actually had the balls to stay together and make Death Magnetic which is great.
