  • Great stuff, but marketing must have been on holliday

  • lol, well this went tits up then

  • ive got to watch this for my geography homework!

  • Same

  • Same here.

Atleast I didn't take German xD

  • I'd like to mention a book about solar energy "the Solar Fraud " by PhD Howard C. Hayden. On page 134 he points out something that goes unnoticed. " If wind were a viable power source, utilities would be champing at the bit to use it. Utilities use every technology available to cut their fuel costs....... Let me more specific about this. All utilities know the exact cost down to a fraction of a penny per kWh of producing electricity from every individual power plant (cont..)

  • "....When there is an increase in demand, the utilities automatically adjust things to get the cheapest electricity available. When there is a decrease in demand , they automatically turn down their most expensive power plants. Utilities generally have to be FORCED to buy wind power" In other words wind power has not passed the market test and never will. It has passed public opinion test and that's all that matters, but it does not change the physics and physics makes it pointless.

  • 'No shortage of wind in the UK.' You're not kidding...or should he have said 'Hot air'. 'N-power juice'...You'd have to be a complete and total idiot to sign up to something that will cost you more for exactly the same thing as your neighbour. Save while you can though, because within the next few years we won't have a choice.

  • Congratulations to the United Kingdom, you became the world's leader in offshore wind power installed capacity in October, 2008 with the completion of Lynn/Inner Dowsing.

  • We are now making site investigation for the Gwynt Y Mor windfarm nearby North Hoyle, which is to be built 2011 and will be 3-4 times bigger than this one!!!

  • I work in Vestas Portugal!

    I love it.

In my site exist 37 turbines V90 3 Mw

  • Hi! Do you know what could a V90 3 MW cost? I am trying to find out the average price of a single plant. See ya!

  • Vorrei tanto sentir parlare di progetti del genere anche in Italia. (Naturalmente dove c'è realmente la possibilità)

  • To dariodeangelis: Google for: wind power in Italy. You will find many links. Italy was ranked 7th in the world for wind power in 2007.

Per dariodeangelis: Google per: l'energia eolica in Italia. Potrai trovare molti link. L'Italia è stata classificata 7a nel mondo per produzione di energia eolica nel 2007.

  • Good video. I wonder how long the base resists salt corrosion?

  • a windmill like that is normally develop for 20 years of production.

  • I worked at this site 2003 till 2004. I was employed as a Wind turbine technician specifically for this site as i live locally. I initially went to Scotland to assist with building the nacelles then at Mostyn readying the towers and nacelles dockside for fitting at sea, then at sea constructing them. Once construction was over we settled down to repairs and servicing. Being the winter time it was cold, depressing, long hours, crap pay and i couldn't get on with the boss so i left. Myles Povey

  • Hi Myles, sorry to read that you were not happy working as aservice technician.I've got an interview on the forth of september for a job on the site,I was just wandering If you could give me a few pointers for the interview process.

  • They are in the process here in the states in the gulf of mexico. I just got off a job at GAL-187. If you know about Block Numbersin the gulf There is a wind tower taking wind samples off Galveston Island 6 or 7 miles South west from the jetties and 4 miles off the beach

  • I work for Vestas Americas at the corporate office in Portland, OR - great company, feels good to be a part of something so special

  • I was wondering what does one turbine cost, turn-key?

How many household will run supply.

    Averages will be just fine.

    Thanks

  • Installed cost depends on where you install the turbine. Offshore costs up to twice as much as on land. However, winds are steadier offshore, so the capacity factor can be about twice as high as on land. The big wind turbines cost more than a million dollars apiece, but the bigger ones have a lower cost per watt produced. Wind power has become more economical as the wind turbines have gotten larger. Go to Wikipedia and read the wind power article, which covers all the basics.

  • this is nice.

They should make it even more large scale, strong enough to resist with no damage in huricane areas of the world. I would love to work on a project like that.

  • I would love too to work there!

You can download this video from Vestas site (it have a better video quality).

    bye

    Giorgio
