  • I mean this song is the best and the guitar is just amazing!!!

  • MuteMath = AWESOMENESS! :D

  • I've known about this band for 20 minutes and they're already at the top of my list... Why have I just heard of them?

  • ok, this is the first song of theirs i've listened to, and I'm already a fan, TO ITUNES!!

  • they r ?? don't u listen!!

  • Why aren't these guys being played on the radio??

  • @ElMaestr0Xavier0 cause the radio plays shit..

  • Whoa sweet!! I didn't even realize that the Bundler from the Progressive commercial was actually Mutemath's idea! :D

  • they are so creative, they are inspiring a whole generation of musicians! INCLUDING MYSELF!!!!!

  • These guys are the embodiment of everything I enjoy in music

  • @konomrd13 you idiot

  • They have the coolest music videos(:

  • Other than Franz Ferdinand, I don't think any other band is as creative with their music videos as Mute Math is.

  • @Rawk4Life

I'm sure you'd love the White Stripes, Bjork or the Kills. Check them out if you're interested.

Fell in Love With a Girl by the White Stripes is made of stop motion lego. Bjork's Possibly Maybe glows in the dark. And Emily Haine's Our Hell was shot with a thermic camera. I don't mean to spam, really, but these are awesome, and some of my favorite videos.

But I admit that Mutemath is doing an awesome job as well!

    :)

  • I am familiar with The White Stripes and Bjork's videos. However, The White Stripes aren't continuous in their line of very creative music videos like Mute Math is. The video above is some sort of paper animation, "Typical" was filmed entirely in reverse, and they did one video where they were in fast motion the entire time and did it entirely in the back of a van, making occassional stops to set up and remove their equipment.

  • Also, their video for Odd Soul was edited to have it run one frame at a time during every single count.

  • Amazing

  • I thought that's Take Me Out by Franz Ferdinand video :D

  • lol. internet

  • 23 people backfired again

  • I DON"T CARE ABOUT DOG FOOD OR DIAPERS! I JUST WANNA LISTEN TO THE MUSIC!

  • i dnt even like rock music but they r just the best!

  • Just heard of these guys today and so far its all amazing!!

  • THIS VIDEO IS SO GREAT!!!!!!!!

  • That robot at the end is cooler than all of them combined!

    .....WAIT.

  • they put that song together really good

  • I love them!

    They're AWESOME!

  • 22 people were too amazed by what they heard, and missed the "like" button, and accidently clicked the "dislike" button

  • Hm....different from all my other mutemath. I think I'll have to listen to this another ten times before it grows on me (which of course, it eventually will because it's mutemath).

  • i love this song, but the car video that autoplays after it is so annoying

  • i honestly dislike this sadly, i was hoping mutemath wouldn't have changed so much with this cd but it seems like this just isn't the mutemath i know and love. i think there first album just sounds completely different :/ different singer? or what

1:47 sounded more like there original stuff. dunno just my opinion on it though

  • so underrated i swear its unfair i swear i swear

  • 18 ppl can suck a fuck.

  • I don't like how they changed their music to a different pace.. I liked the more relaxing music they had in their last album, personally.

  • fuck me, they're great!

  • hey @KREMIRA no offence, but are you blonde? XD

  • One of my favorite songs on the 'Armstice' album. Underrated, but awesome.

  • :( they look like a boy band

  • Comment removed

  • @KREMIRA VEVO isn't even on this page...

  • @KREMIRA First off, VEVO isn't on this page. Secondly, VEVO making money for Youtube is how Youtube stays free. It gives Youtube money so we don't have to. Advertising is just the way of the world. Might want to get used to it.

  • @AntiGraceProduction

So, all of the sidebar ads, the pop ups and the click ads after the video, don't cut it for the advertising quota, huh? You're an idiot. If you really believe that actual commercials are crucial to being able to run this site with all of that OTHER bullshit advertising I just mentioned, you're either out to lunch or a shill, plain and simple. Keep drinking that Kool-Aid man. Because the only reason that shit is there, is GOOGLE, cousin. No other reason than corporate greed

  • @KREMIRA nice job posting on a non VEVO video. props to you and you ignorant attempt at a rant on big business you troll

  • @thedanieltmv it's funny to see these reactions on something my litte brother post [13y]....he doesn't even understands the marketing business...well, atleast i can laugh about it and have to admit, he's got some nice taste of music! i like it

  • Omg this is one of my fav songs from MuteMath!!! Its like the soundtrack to my life so thats prob why I love it so damm much :)

  • Dude I've been a fan of theirs since the "Earthsuit" days.

  • @bog1e yeah buddy

  • Acabo de descurbrirlos....simplemente geniales...

  • My jaw just dropped during that bridge. Amazing drums

  • Found out this band about half an hour ago, already in love. Does anyone knows what chorus pedal the guitarist uses in that particular song ? I made some quick research about his gear, apparently he's using lots of delay pedals... but it really sounds like a chorus to me.^^

  • this is so sick! just found about this band yesterday

  • reasons why bands like this that have talent but arent as big like lets say hannah montanna or miley cyrus or what ever her real name is is because of the musically uneducated mass of teens and kids that only listen to what the media shoves down their throat and tells them it tastes good and if they dont like it they wont be cool. they arent told to take a chance, like what someone doesnt like, hate whats popular, explore the beautiful world that is music and listen to what they like.its a shame

  • @blondbeast555 um? i dont do that, of course i enjoy some music comes out, but i also love 70's, 80's, and 90's songs.... eh? who cares 'bout bein' cool? it is what you think you are that counts :)

  • @CuteYetiTv dont do what? and yah idc whats excactly "cool" i agree with that n i love music from the 90's and 60's :) serouisly the best years to be creative in the music industry. my opinion is that lately music has been more of a peer pressure thing and not excactly a find whats best for u and spread the love. i could be wrong bands like kid cudi and modest mouse are doing pretty well but still... idk just speaking my mind

  • @blondbeast555 yeah

  • that is one trippy video

  • Looks like the video to "Take Me Out" by Franz Ferdinand.

  • *--------------*/

  • Great ingenuity in this video-

  • they have the most amazing sound ever. their drummer is phenomenal and not to mention, they have the most mind-blowing videos ever

  • Yeaaaaah!!!!

  • Seriously. If you understand the complexity of the music...beyond just how GOOD it sounds...they are absolutely phenomenal and highly creative musicians. And to be able to recreate all of the complexity LIVE is rare, and for anyone who has been to one of their live shows knows...their LIVE is even better than what's recorded. This band is...dare I say it...EPIC.

  • @motiv8edbyfaith Saw them live @ lollapalooza 2010, yes they are EPIC!!!!

  • @motiv8edbyfaith Just because they use a few atypical time signatures, doesn't make it that complex. I mean, Jazz musicians have been doing the same and more for a century and classical musicians have been doing it even better for far longer.

  • @motiv8edbyfaith You speek the truth, most people just score music on how they sound they dont listen to the lyrics or the beat and they dont realize the complexity of their music and i am totally with you, they a truly EPIC.

  • @motiv8edbyfaith I am happy you are one of the few people that understand how complicated music really is and the fact that it is hard. Unless your a rapper then you just pay people right your songs, you have no music base in you music(if it can be called that) lol

  • @motiv8edbyfaith People like you are way to concerned with music theory, and need to learn to listen to music in a different way. Let me guess a few things about you, you probably play piano and bitch and moan and lecture your friends about theory whenever they play a song with a 1 5 6 4 progression. Sure this song uses unique progressions (although this band often cheats by taking fairly typical progressions and changing the order or the resolving chord). However, this has so many problems.

  • @ATLracing For one, the lyrics are meaningless and petty. There is really no message or meaning to be gained from this. Secondly, this has absolutely no passion or energy. The singer sounds so damn boring, and he sounds exactly the same in all the songs. His voice has been completely pitch corrected, and any roughness or anything has been removed, and I personally hate that. So, next time you look down your nose at other people's taste, consider that there is more to music than just theory.

  • @ATLracing

Hating isn't necessary... I think it can only bring good when people talk about their opinions in music, and you brought up a couple good points. But it's important, as you said, not to look down your nose on other people's taste... :)

  • @DontSayItMarie Good point, having just read my original comment for the first time in a while, I can see its definitely pretty rude. The reason I wrote it was because I have some friends that are constantly critiquing my taste in music for music theory related reasons. I actually know a lot about music theory now, but a few years ago when I didnt, their comments bothered me more and made me feel worse about my taste in music, so this comment sort of struck a nerve.

  • @ATLracing haha, this is funny, I just now saw this. You sound like an angry person! I actually am not a genius at theory at all, I just appreciate well written and creative/different music. High five if you disagree, no big deal. :) Oh and I do play piano....by ear. I am terrible at reading music. Took lessons way back in the day and after 4 years decided it was for the birds. I just understand music theory enough to know what it takes to write it and put together something like this.

  • 2:46 aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah what does those stupid machines did!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • MuteMath used to be Earthsuit.

  • I was 12 the first time I heard Mutemath & instantly became hooked on their tune "Peucliar People". Here I am, now, at 19 years old & they still manage to captivate my attention every time I hear their music. I can't wait to see where they end up...

  • whaat, this is trippy! Great artists.

  • they're unbelievably talented! love them <3

  • I.

    Love.

    MUTEMATH.

    <3

  • this song is amazing, it reminds me of modest mouse but just the right amount, not too much :D

  • i liked them b4 so many ppl evenknew them i even have their first cd

  • @gonza291 :"i liked them b4 so many ppl evenknew them i even have their first cd"...really? you must be king of all the hipsters then. tell me, where did you find this fountain of cool? when did you first realize you were the holy grail of cool?

  • @TheEuphoricFields Hahahahaha. Made my day. The fountain of cool. The holy grail of cool. Hahahaha. Good stuff.

  • @TheEuphoricFields I'll be straight with you, I found them on a Discovery Channel commercial where they used "Typical". One of the many reasons I love the Discovery Channel. Mythbusters and "discovering" great music on accident.

  • @gonza291 YOURE COOL

  • reminds me of modest mouse

  • This is blowing-my-mind awesome. I simply cannot understand how they haven't blown up yet.

  • @intheluminol:

Once they blow up, they risk becoming your generic, run-of-the-mill pop group, though. Hopefully, they'll stay true to the art.

  • love the song, not a fan of the vid though

  • def 1 of my favorite bands of all time

  • I'm sorry, but after seeing years of political satire with this stop-motion style on JibJab.com, this video is hard to take seriously. Typical will always be this band's magnum opus, though, and this video had some cool subject matter.

  • @Stevethesingle Maybe its not exactly meant to be taken seriously?

  • awesome band

  • I like the video, but it's not for mutemath's style. I LOVE all the other mutemath vids that they concept themselves

  • reminds me of take me out by franz ferdinand

  • remines me of pinky and the brain

  • this music video was ridiculously creative.

  • I MADE A TOP 15 SONGS OF THIS AWESOME BAND, PLEASE CHECK IT OUT IN MY CHANNEL, I INCLUDED THE NEW ALBUM....

  • 17 people are justin bieber fans.... THATS REALLY SAD

  • this song gets really bad after 3:30

  • @StickManga definitely bro. It just sucks after that.

  • god i love this band i discovered um on my blackberry on a preview video lol there amazing now ma favourite band

  • Sounds alot like something Maroon 5 would sing.

  • this had to be inspired by monty python's flying circus animation. very similar but still original and brilliant. i remember seeing these guys at a convention when they were first new. they were so new that i have a signed poster of the band BUT there is only three of them in the picture. 4 signatures, 3 guys in the photo.

  • "Please tell me, why are we, yryin so hard," Oh man this song had me from the first line! : )

  • dude this is my favorite song

  • these guys have a very original and unique sound, which is rare now-a-days.

  • Sounds so different than when they first started out, but still sounds great.

Their old stuff was removed from itunes, I guess they wanna ppl to know their sound as they are now, not as they were.

  • this band is awesome. love them <3

  • uuuhhh.. WTF!? aha, they are excellent though, great band

  • Como muchos han dicho...

  • Comment removed

  • @Nataro91 Yeaaaaa buddy!

  • @Nataro91

acabo de descubrirlos ahora mismo...simplemente geniales...

  • yeah this video sucks. Them trying to go mainstream, they should not sell out. They dont work that way i think and there other stuff is way awesome

  • jajaja cierto!!! y esta cancion wowww la he puesto como 5 veces!

  • I just found these guys and I love them already!

  • I did a cover of Typical on my guitar. Check it out.

  • mutemath's videos are always so unique

  • This Song is really awekward to listen to.

  • I don't know why they aren't more popular...They are AMAZING. They are even great live!!

  • Why aren't these guys popular? They should replace Kesha and all those top 40 hoarders.

  • @noellaboopboop I agree with you but paramore should still be in the top 40 even if they aren't right at the moment

  • @noellaboopboop For sure. The only reason those pop and hip-hop people are up so high is because their music is what the media shoves down people's throats and that's what they listen to.

  • @noellaboopboop listen to a NOW cd. sadly what you find on that cd is what is in right now. the worlds taste in music has gone up shit creek

  • @noellaboopboop Because Kesha is easy and... well... pop music. basic really.

  • @Matanumi yup...Kesha's a whore.

  • @noellaboopboop Because only idiots like popular music, apparently.

  • @BitHarmony There is no excuse for having bad taste in music.

  • @noellaboopboop True. So very true.

  • Comment removed

  • @kevc1221

.....to people that I know will appreciate good music. And they all do ending up loving them. I do the same thing w/ Sparta. Not everyone is going to enjoy these bands. But the people who do, the people who actually "get it" will pass it on to other people who like AMAZING music.

  • Here is the thing, they ARE popular amongst people who know music. People who appreciate creative and original music. These guys are simply amazing. And they probably won't ever "breakout" big time and be a huge Top 40 band. And I don't think that that is the goal. I don't want the mindless drones that listen to Kesha, Bieber and all that crap to learn or Mute Math. Let them suffer in their horrible taste.

I try and introduce Mute Math to people. But not just anyone.....

  • @noellaboopboop My point exactly.

  • @noellaboopboop who the fuck is kesha?

  • these guys are amazing

  • who thinks that the genetically modified face sadly resembles tom cruise????

  • @switchfootrocks11 mee!!! :D

  • @switchfootrocks11 Wow, it does. That's weird.

  • this vid reminds me of the Take Me Out vid by Franz Ferdinand. Good song, Mute Math! :)

  • I liked good music is perfect
