  • @LsxMovie Im replacing a fuel pump in my firebird, I got an exact match as myn, the new one comes with all the assembly intact so I can just swap them out, but after cuting the trapdoor, I noticed the electircal thing at 7:42 u mention you dont need to take it off, is it possible to just lift that up and attach it to the new?

  • You did not reinstall the fuel bucket. Wouln't that cause problems keeping the pump sumberged in fuel at all times or is it not an issue?

  • just do the job the right way its a shame that you just did that to a cherry trans am

  • Would this process be the same for a 2000 V6 Camaro, if not can someone provide me on info on how to do it.

  • How come I didn't know about this page its great....I'm building a 383 stroker u got any advice

  • Me & my dude followed these steps. It turned out gr8,just keep in mind disabling pump.V6- and V8 pumps are differ. But a big thx u for this video only took like a 1 hr to do.

  • it is not the same cut for a 2000, the cut is more toward the rear of the car

  • would this also work on a 2000 camaro??

  • Yes! I just cut out the piece in my 99 z28 and thank god for this way! it would of been almost impossible to drop the tank or take it to a shop! thank you so much!

  • a heads up to people out there! my 2002 firebird had the fuel pump near the bottom not the top as pictured here. its alot closer to the bottom curved area.

  • @Sadamoto6 also you dont need to cut a little notch on the side

  • This is stupid, you destroyed the car because you are too lazy to drop the fuel tank?

  • @ShortMag270 alot of people do this. its alot easier. cars not destoyed. its an improvement over the factory being that you can get to the fuel pump. its not lazy...its working smarter and not harder. more power to you if you wanna go through all that. you have a point to a degree....but this method is not folly.

  • @ShortMag270 If you want to drop the axle, exhaust, and x-member, have at it. There's a reason why many manufacturers have access doors to the fuel pumps, it makes life easy.

  • @philyt

You don't need to pull the rear axle, and on a 3.8 you don't even have to get the exhaust out of the car, just unhang it and push it to the side.

  • I own a 86. Would the Fuel tank still be in the same spot? and wouldn't it twist the car?

  • Anybody knows how to get to gas pump on a 3rg Generation Camaro its an 87

  • I have a helpful tip…. Put a tie strap around the plastic clip that holds the fuel line together … and tie it tight… make sure it is tied on the outside edge (only around the clip) … this will help free up your hands so you can pull the fuel line apart… no screwdrivers needed…. Thanks for the great video this saved me so much time….

  • Awesome!

  • Excellent video! My 94 camaro has a néw fuel pump bc of this video!!! Ty

  • is there a way to test the fuel pump once you take it out of the gas tank to make sure the fuel pump is the problem. my camaro wont start. put a new fuel filter on it but the gas is not making it up to the engine or the fuel filter. must be the pump rite?

  • @veeohtee04 There is a prime connector on passenger side fender area. It runs directly to the pump itself and if you jump it with a 12v source the pump should kick on until you remove the voltage. If you use the prime connector and the pump still does nothing than that is a pretty good sign that it is bad. google "4th gen F body technical aids" and you should find the SHbox.com site which has a lot of helpful info on it.

  • Is this the same with v6 models as well?

  • thanks for showing where to do he cut BIG HELP

  • oh wait nvm, I just found it lol.

  • Wait...what about the rest of the video?!?

  • all that video for a mistake has been taken by GM!

    any so clear so helpful

    :-)thanks alot.

  • nice video
