I don't agree with a Stelena ending, but I do see its appeal, but I just prefer the chemistry/the passion between Damon and Elena. Bold, dominating, all consuming--that's Damon & Elena. Its' a scary kind of love where they feel like running away from it, but they always find their way back to each other again. Its a different kind of love from the SE love--where sweet, safe, and nice are the predominant characteristics.

Don't get me wrong I love Damon but their on screen chemistry is not intense. At least not the in love kind. There is an attraction but ppl have that in life all the time. I am not totally against some Damon and Elena relationship for a while but ultimately Elena's should end up with Stefan, who will be a better person after he gets over what he's going through now, which could take a while. But how boring TVP would be if Elena and Stefan just stayed together the entire time; no lows at all. Don't get me wrong i love damon he's so hilarious and I want him to end up with someone (I LOVED Rose and Damon had that emotional breakdown after she died)

I think the producers give delena fans what they want for awhile but I think Damon will fall in love with someone else - Rose if she werent dead..:( I really miss her. Oh, Damon is waaaay over Katherine--he proved it when he rejected her time and time again. Specially when he kissed her and said she didn't "do it" for him anymore. But, he still cares for her--just like she still cares for him.

But, I wouldn't mind seeing Damon falling for someone else. I think he deserves happiness and Elena has only put him through heartbreak and pain (even though her reasons are justified or in some cases not).

I do think Damon is in love with Elena but he will only go so far with the other people around her. Stefan at least has good relationships with the people Elena care about. I mean, Damon killed Jeremy (he had his ring on but Damon didn't know) and tried to kill Bonnie, abused Caroline, tried murdering John Gilbert, etc. Oh and I love the new direction Stefan is going. He can't stay 'bad' forever but it makes him look badass and more interesting with this persona.

And yes, Elena and Damon get closer. But when you say 'together' if you mean start going out, or kiss or anything then No, they do not.

Its the same as the show will go. They will get close, but then they will save Stefan, and Elena goes back to him. Delena fans need to get over that, Delena wont happen.

Even in the most recent book, she loves them both and just can't choose. I don't how anyone can say that Delena won't happen because of the books. Plus, the books are very different from the show. Many characters are very different (such as Caroline,ect...).

And I know the show doesn't follow the books, but they do follow some basic things. Like How Stefan got taken, and Damon and Elena have to work together, and get closer in the process. The she goes back to Stefan.

She just can't make up her mind between the two, which is what keeps the series going. They aren't going to let her decide until the very very end. But there are quotes about her "true love" for both Stefan and Damon, so it could go either way. I'm a total Delena fan, but I understand the Stelena fans, too :)

Under such a context, any sign of Damon hitting on Elena, can only mean either.. 1) Damon hasn't gained a level of humanity, esp not one that matches with Stefan's before he got compelled, because it will only mean he doesn't love his brother enough to sacrifice his desire for elena for him, and that just means Elena can't ever love him as much as she loves stefan (because she'll always remember Stefan would have gone ALL the way for her and for humanity)
