My rocket 111 is a great bike, but, its not a cornering bike at all.Too fast and braking on a bend is disaster. The suzuki m1800r i also have,is a bit better on the bends. Now,the real cornering bike in my collection is the Triumph T120r.Conclusion is....700 lb bikes will not corner as well as a 350 lb bike no matter the age or tyres,or suspension
@LeviathanRan owners fault. going to fast and hit rear brake too hard. You could see that when he started passing people on the outside of a curve that he was pushing it..
The Rocket is an awesome beast, however until you get used to it, she is a handful. The acceleration brings the speed up quickly, then physics require a LOT of road to get her round the bend - and because she doesn't go down far (excuse the pun), you cannot play quite as many games as a sports bike. Yep, he panicked, locked her up, because he was behind the bike, following her, not leading her!
Looks like he underestimated how tight the bend was, panicked and locked up the back brake? Should have just leaned it over more and then dabbed the back brake ....
@ghimmpxviii And you obviously don't know much about motorcycles. If you go in too hot on a bike, your best bet is to release the brake, look through the turn, and just stick with it.
@nilbud Oh i'm sorry. I forgot that turning a bike and braking hard is the easiest thing in the world. Or do you mean that "drifting" like the original guy said is the most effective?

The bike wasn't made for that kind of speed in the curves. If you're going to ride like that get a crotch rocket.

@ausglocker you obviously never went into a turn hot... he would have been better off drifting the turn lol
