wow i knew he was gay... when he took his strap to me? obviously talking about a strap-on. fuck jimmy dickens he's a faggot and all country sucks dick.
Summer, 1953, an open air dance pavilion at Manitou Springs, above Colorado Springs -- Jimmie Dickens and his band played a 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. dance, with Jimmy providing a comedy routine during intermission.
"When a woman is driving and holds her left arm straight out the window, what does it mean?"
1. "she's drying her fingernails."
2. "She's signaling a change in direction, guess which!"
3. "It means she missed the guy in the crosswalk with her bumper and she's gonna slap his face."
Cute song....Little Jimmy is such a unique talent. Flamboyant but yet sincere...one of the last of the immortal stars from the Golden Age of Country Music who's still with us (or at least I think he's still with us...haven't seen his obit yet). He may be small in size, but his talent is GIGANTIC! THANKS so very much for sharing this delightful "blast from the past" for us to enjoy! :)
I remember when my pappy used to turn us over his knee. Cept' it was out behind the outhouse not the barn. Yep, he'd tan our hides. Made us better people for it too.
you try spankin me you gonna get your ass whipped behind the barn. and a good ole country ass whuppin at that. you probably a damn yankee!!i'll put the ace of spades on ya and the jack o' club's and you won't be gettin up!
Great song by Little Jimmy. A true classic. Hey, can someone post the original version of "Take An Old Cold Tater"? All I've seen on YouTube are remakes. If you've got it, see if you can post it. Thanks.
bluewolverine40 poitical correctness is a disease. Instead of discipline, focus, respect and just good manners they think political correctness should replace your brain as if they are telling you, that you are not capable of running your own life with the language you already know, and the morals you were taught. Political correctness is for people who look to the government, religious institutes, and corporations as the ultimate parent. It's a disease.
bluewolverine40 it's liberalism that is responsible for the total decay of every form of advancement that human beings have evolved to. From cradle to grave liberals sit their with their hands out wanting and taking from anyone that works for a living. It's their life style to whine and complain about everything, and yet when things go wrong they run and hide behind the people that advance and build the world. They are so out of touch with reality.
Kevinch1 I was conversing with other people. If we want to talk about social issues, we will do it. You don't like it, go fuck off and die. This wasn't a debate is was a conversation. You don't like what was said here? Too bad, the fucking nerve of you, cocksucker. Move on, and get the fuck off the page if you don't it. Snot nosed cunt.
Jimmy Dickens toured with Hank Williams a good bit. Every show when Jimmy was on the bill, Hank would gather up his band and say "Boys, we got to be at our best tonight, Tater is opening for us".
Tater was Hank's nickname for Jimmy, a reference to the Dicken's song "Take An Old Cold Tater". Hank really respected Jimmy as a performer and knew that he was a hard act to follow (as told by a member of Hank William's band in a radio interview many, many years ago).
this is a really great song, haha reminds me of back in my day except for the first part and when i smoked my first smoke i never got sick, lol and i did have some fun out behind the barn
i actually saw him live at the opry last year, i wouldnt say he sounds just as great, in fact his aging is quite evident in his singing, as he can barely get the words out.
thats said, he has a fantastic stage presence still, and getting to see him perform is still very entertaining. he actually does a pretty good little comedy routine while hes up there
*****Thanks for Jimmy Dickens Out Behind The Barn.***** I thought it might be lost. You did a great job on preserving his music & video clips. Thanks from an old New Yorker, Lenny
Thank you, Alan Paladin, for creating this wonderful video. 5 stars all the way. I believe that the lead guitar was played by Dean Porter, who played with Jimmy for many years on the road, and who later played with my father on The Saturday Night Jamboree out of Huntington, WV
i went drunken mudding to this song last night. Good times out behind the barn

I will spank my kids for the same reason my father spanked me for wrong doings. correcting a child should never stop.
