Nothing special - in Poland we have bigger ones running around our houses, I do not know the name though - in latin it's Tegenaria atrica. Jezus, just imagine how someone must be shocked, when he wakes up and there is that big, hairy spider on the wall - creepy!
yea that one looks like about the size of a dime. there arent too many different kinds up here in canada but i come from the philippines and as a kid i use to collect all sorts of spiders by hand and make them fight.now i get creeped out just by the little dinky house spiders and i used to carry massive ones by hand.
holy shit dude i got a digital camera pic of a spider like this i live in north carolina and yeah they make webs in the corner of thehouse under the roof where the porch light is, becuase alot of idiot moths fly around like bats out of hell around there lol.

in french, we call them epeire diadème... Very nice looking specimen. They have a white cross on their back.
