Delicious Dan Stevens is now in 'Dowton Abbey' and he is AWESOME in that too...
Series 2 starts in the Autumn in the UK... I really enjoyed this version of S&S, all the actors were fabulous, and as a Jane Austen fan, I will watch any version just to see how they are adapted 'differently'...
This has been a charming reminder of just how good the series on the BBC was, many thanks @chienpy for posting it, my best regards from Wales UK ... :0)x
I haven´t seen it so I cannot give a based opinion, but for the few clips and photographs I think this series looks better than the 96´s movie, because I think Emma Thompson looked older than the description in the book of Elinor, all my respects to Thompson because I think she´s a good actress. Also Grant was great but I think Stevens acted a more open version of Edward.
I agree. This version is more based on novel, and I prefer these actors to the olds, even though they're not as popular.
Maybe they chose Thompson, Rickman and Grant etc. just because of their fame, and Stevens, Morahan and co. were chosen 'cos they were the most suitable candidates for the roles..?
I'm not criticising the old ones, I just prefer newer version, but not as much I prefer Pride and Prejudice 1995-version to 2005-version! Both S&S are very good.
@Hhellevi Really? The Emma Thompson version actually follows the novel VERY closely with actual sentences taken from the book itself and converted into dialogue. And all the actors chosen, I think, are some of the best British actors there are. Emma, Alan Rickman, Imelda Staunton, Hugh Laurie...stellar cast.
"I want you...to... JUST SPIT IT OUT!!!! Uggh, it gets me everytime!

Hattie Morahan is steadily becoming one of my fave actresses, she is brilliant in this version of Sense and Sensibility.
