  • Beautiful ayyy!!!!!!

  • @tammyvidalia It's a beauty!

  • how is this palm doing after the recent cold snap?? (January 15 - 20, 2012)

  • @rtayl Should be fine because it didn't get cold enough

  • how old is it

  • @snorlaxx1337911 Planted in 2000 as a small specimen

  • lol exited!! :D

  • @namirdu13 I love big Phoenix palms

  • nekem is ilyen kell a kertbe

  • @Thinman1973 I don't understand

  • I have a two year old Madinese date plam growing indoors and I have started some other seeds in another planter, only three have germinated, and I am dreading the day I have to say bye bye because I live in Ontario. Some info would be great on how I can stay with my dear date palm.

  • @MsFutomaki I'm not exactly sure what a Mandinese Date Palm is? Do you know the Latin name? I'm guessing a Phoenix robellenii native to Laos or Cambodia. Best to keep it as a house plant because it will not like the Ontario winters. Keep it watered, fertilized and give it plenty of sunlight and it will do just fine! You should make a short video of it.

  • @BananaJSSI I mean Madinese as in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. They are Arabian dates. I figured it would be way too risky to keep them as other than house plants and I had three sprouts in one planter for too long so they are a bit stunted. The all have their own "apartments" now so hopefully they can thrive. When I transplanted, I saw the biggest one was choking the other two.

  • @BananaJSSI I have a mix of black earth and a peat moss/perlite/compost mix as soil with fertilizers for soil right now. Apart from desert earth, what soil would sandy and similar two what their parents grew in. Best I can say in terms of species that they are Phoenix dactylifera.

  • @MsFutomaki Should grow like a weed!!!

  • Now that's cool

  • @atah275 It's a pretty decent size specimen.

  • Nice and healthy!

  • @annemaree In this neck of the woods it is rare to see this species survive outdoors for the many years this specimen has. I grow this one in my garden as well, but where I live is much milder in the winter than the location in this video. In Australia these palms grow to 80'ft tall!
