if they were that good they would of won the battle of Kursk, which they did  not..German tanks had the punch but failed mechically,T34s were faster, packed a punch and could be repaired on the field.

@1hermans1 Hahaha, there is so much wrong with that statement... None of the 88mm Flak variants were ever mounted on the tiger, the common caliber is a coincidence. The T34 was introduced prior the Tiger, and the Pz.IV Ausf F2 was a fair match for it long before the Tiger even went into the field.

@nolifemerc No, they're different guns. The Tiger mounts the 88mm/L56 KwK 36, which was designed in parallel to the Flak 36, so that they could fire each others ammunition. The guns themselves are completely different however, and the KwK 36 is much more similar in design to the other 50mm and 75mm tank cannons mounted on the PzIII and IV than the Flak 18/36.

bot german 88 and russian 85 were accurate guns; the problems where the optics, german TZF9b and c were superb giving to the kwk36 a 90% chance to hit at 1000m while the russian Tsh-15 and 16 gave to D-5T-85 and ZIS-S-53 a60% at 1km, anyway russian optics quality improved trough the war, but german one was and still is superb

one thing i don't like about this game is when i was in a Tiger, i shot a t-34 200m away in the front armor and nothing happened...i'm certain if a Tiger shot a t-34 in the front armor, regardless of range it would penetrate without a doubt, to kill a T-43 with a Tiger in this game, you have to shoot the front turrett and the side/rear armor, which is kinda unrealistic, maybe they did that to make it more even and fun for all players?

This is one of the best sims I have played in a long time period. if you want a simple point and shoot game with minimal realism and tons of shooting, go play Forgotten hope mod for BF2. t-34 v tiger has a bit of a learning curve, i guess thats what turns some of these ppl off. But if u can get over that it deserves a ton of credit. Great game and good graphics.

i agree considered to FH 2, but Forgotten Hope 0.7, i mean the first FH MOD (for BF1942) is one of the best and most realistic WW2 games, including more than 80 different WW2 tanks and armored vehicles, not only 2 tanks like in the game "Tiger vs T34". Also tank battles in FH 0.7 are very realistic due to real aspects of firepower and armor of each tanks. (for example, the Tiger can kill a T34 with only one direct hit). Though FH is a third/first person shooter and not a tank simulation.

Though, I admit, it was fantastic when it came out, and ive been in some sensational tank battles. But its over, new sims out kill it. Though, RO2 will be out one day, so thats something to look forward to.

RO might be an older game but it's still very popular online. Tank battles are going on as we speak. This game "T-34 vs Tiger" doesn't have half the community nor multiplayer support RO has. I'm sorry but this game died online where RO is still flourishing. Besides, RO features infantry gameplay too and it supports unlimited players online where this game features only 16 players and the maps are to large for that. This game fails online and online gameplay is essential for every modern game.

The reason its popular, is because ITS AN ONLINE ONLY GAME for starters. It has a community because its only available through steam, and it can run on practically any computer. Ro is good, but the only reason people are playing it, is because of the reasons said above. Once something takes hold of realism, with available servers, watch RO die in its arse.

This is my opinion, RO is better than COD and more realistic. I think there are one or two WW2 online only games, with monthly subscription that are the most realistic. I have played RO and all CODs but not the other games. The only shooter i play often is Armed Assault (modern times).

T-34 vs Tiger has many flaws and many advantages that are hard to find in other games too. Anyone plays whatever he likes, arcade or realistic or mixed.

Not realistic wounds and weapons. I think that a "realistic" FPS doesn't exist and will never be. Only strategy games come close to reality.

As i said before, i play only Armed Assault, the only shooter i can stand. RO is one of the best too for me, especially the Darkest Hour mod.

Very accurate and interesting game, I can guess why Gamespot scored it quite low, it's because everybody on there likes action, war, death, bang bang boom crash wallop. And the only reason the shells bounce of (or do no effect) sometimes, it's 'cause they wouldn't in real life! The AI can be a little irritataing though.

Looks quite good, definitely available in the UK (I saw it in Game today for £24.99). Will be interesting to read some reviews of it when the magazines get their hands on it. The AI looks a little dodgy as all those T34s just sat there and took a beating :) Gamespot users scored it 6.8/10 - not bad but not great either!

tigers biggest enemy was lack of supplies and ammo AND skipping of necessary services in ratio 3:1 (3 days combat:1 day service)due to various reasons....

2 tigers faced over 20 t34 on a raid: tigers were hit from 500 to 1000 meters,NO effect;

11 t34 were destroyed within 15 minutes

FINALLY: tiger was as agile as t34 in acceleration(sure not top speed and mud etc)

i took this data from original document of PzDiv grossdeutschland in 1943.

the RECORD in tank battle made a tiger that was hit 256 times (256!!!) from various shells and still got away.....

With its quicker reload and technicaly advanced optics I think a single tiger may be able to overcome 10 of them! bearing in mind the Tigers very thick armour being able to stop most shells! in the time they are doing this trying to close the range they are being picked of!

Wouldnt say tore but they did cause some serious fubarness. N yeah it did lead to development of the Panther and its subsequent rush onto the Ost Front. T-34 was a cracking tank. Parts interchangeable with other T34s unlike Tiger.

i still want to say that the armour of the T-34 in the game is a little overdone ... the 88mm cannon of the Tiger was able to penetrate the T-34´s hull at a distance of more than 1000m ... here its about 300m

I don't want to ruin your party but the later versions of the PzKfW IV would be more than a match for the T-34.

The T-34 M41 was superior to the PzKfW IV Ausf A,B,C, D & F1.

However it was to be equal to the F2.

The M42 however had a slight edge over the F2 version. However the G, H and J versions were having their advantage over the T-34 M42, 43 and even The T-34/85 in some respects. Especially when it comes down to accuracy. The T-34 however came in bigger numbers. Such as 100 to 10

One on one, the PzKfW IV could not take out a IS or JS 2. And one thing is sure about the russians: they prefered numbers ! A Panther or Tiger could compare and eaven take out the IS2. But a Pz4.... i'm not so sure.

But from a 400 to 500M it could certainly do heavy damage to the IS2.

Not to forget the IS2 was notorious under its crewmembers for being made out of poor steel.

The IS2, using the D-25T (Howitzer) could just about hit a 2mx2m target out to about 1200m accurately, T-72 could still only do up to ~2km accurate (2mx2m target) due to poor quality of the gun, recently the T-90 with better quality control can reach 3km or more accurately along with the additional improved FCS.

Actually if you look into it, it wasn't. Hypothetically it was made to be the best, but the timing was terrible, and they had major breakdowns with the engines, even with the panthers. Tiger 1 was killing legend. And the Tiger 2 hardly ever seen action.

not to get crazy here on tank discussion, buth the Panther really was the best tank of WWII. After its minor improvements, wich every tank will go thru. (teething problems)The Panther was fast, mobile (wide tracked) and superior main gun to anything out there. Sloped armor. We can thank the Russians for the design, in which the Germans improved off of it.

Well, it really was not that effective. It was first classified as a Heavy Tank, but later re-classified as a Medium Tank. It used pretty much the same gun as the M-10 Wolverine Tank Destroyer, and had alot of mobility and transmission issues. The Centurian was far more advanced, and that tank led to better designs by the allies in the future. The Soviets went to a more high mobililty tank with low silohette.

Tigers rarely went into combat by themselves. Normally they would have Panthers or Pz IVH-J's at this time covering flanks depending on the formation. Even a couple Stugs could have been deployed. This video is not accurate to German Armored assautls. Usually the Germans would also have deployed 88's or other AT guns to protect the flanks. A game is a game nothing more. But yes, it is a sitting duck in the middle of the field. Especialy if the Luftwaffe was not present.
