"Allapu gedera' is a great movie and talked about a lot.

I don't see anywhere (not just youtube) any comments on its sequel "Ataweni Pudumaya" Which was as great

as "allapu gedera' . It is considered a sequel only because the same crew produce it. But by then Sandyha was no. 1 and Clarice was no. 2.

Senadheera Rupasingha and Lilian E were the ones new in "Ataweni Pudumaya"

I am not so sure. It is so nostalgic to think about "Kapatikama" with Joe double acting (they were two different persons in the movie) as Sarpeenu and Proctor Sarath - it was pretty hilarious.

Esp when Sarpeenu was learning to act as Proctor Sarath. Later Sarpeenu had to defend himself as Proctor Sarath.against Proctor Sarath.

KAW's dialoague. So imagine what fun we had watching it.

Thats an absolute masterpiece by all the artists. Joe & Hugo give a sterling performance along with the lovely Clarice. The singing, music and lyrics are such entertainment. No wonder that Allapu Gedera was a hit..

A nice Indian classical composition..J. A. Milton Perera and Mohideen Beg are Sri Lanka's greatest singers in that tradition I think. Muttusamy can hold his own with the best of South India.

Hugo Fernando does a great comedic performance. I like all his expressions. Clarice de Silva is really pretty. One of my favorite leading ladies in Sri Lankan cinema.

Yes Thats Muttusamy master himself with Baig Master, Even baig master had the south Indian style of singing.

J A Milton Perera had SL's traditional style.

You are right They were the best commedians in that era, starting with Hugo master, Eddie Jayamanne,Anthony C, Cristie Lenard, L M Perera,Joe, BS, Don, Freddie etc to name a few.
