Thanks for your input so watering once a week is too much even though it's less then 1/4 cup, as for Nitrogen and firtiilizer what evers in the potting mix is all I used so far.. My plants get full sun from noon till evening, I'm thinking of putting some plants under a grow light see if that keeps them from getting too leggy. thanks again.
was there anything you did to promote budding ? I have a desert rose will be three years this March and it's not flowered yet. Thanks for your reply to my last question sorry I did not even see the full titel before.
@freakygeaktwo Maybe you're giving it too much nitrogen? Maybe too much water? I almost never water mine, and I've noticed that rain cuts flower production and promotes leaf growth. I don't water unless the stems are noticably bendy.
I would suggest re-potting it into a mix that has a lot of perlite with a healthy dose of bone meal; never use Miracle-Gro or similar. Cut more holes into your plastic pots to promote drainage. And, FULL SUN.
@freakygeaktwo Maybe...6 months old...maybe a little earlier. Others from the same seed pod bloomed earlier. My guess is that it's a function of the soil and light conditions, probably the time of year in my area; probably not size, though, as I've had 5-6 inch tall plants with a crown of small flowers. I got about 120 seeds from that pod and there's a LOT of variation.
thank you
