  • I am a native of Fort Pierce, Fl..

Gary was the oldest of 10 children. The son of George and Georgia Stewart. Around 1969 or 1970 , I know I was under age , we would ride over to Okeechobee, to see him perform and hear him play at the "Wagon Wheel". I have followed him ever since. When I hear him , it feels as if someone is

reaching down and squeezing my heart. He lives on his music. He had soul.

  • @BJSUMM all of us Ft Pierce natives remember and love Gary. i love driving down the street seeing the old GS stickers on people's cars

  • His songs make me wanna find a hole in the wall bar and dance all nite!! luv it

  • having grown up in texas honky tonks, i can certainly bear witness to the considerable and uniquely "real" impact and influence the music of Gary Stewart had on country (and american folk) music. it is a sad fact that the genre has been almost completely highjacked by the pop industry today, but there ARE a lot of good, authentic country and honkytonk artists out there. unfortunatly, the radio and redcord industries havient begun to catch up to this, as most are on idependant labels

  • i am gunna end up shit faced listin to this good shit

  • Dude, who could talk shit about Gary? He's a god in my eyes. Oh shoot, I meant shoot.

  • Simply the best ever!

  • TO JARED MY HEART

  • I was so pleasantly surprised in 1974 when I went to a Charley Pride concert in Abilene, Texas, and Charley said, "Now, I want my piano player to sing a song for you." It was Gary Stewart, and he sang this song. Charley's warm-up band that night was Ronnie Milsap, not a bad concert at all.
